  1. Cooking a vegetable soup ... I have a cold and this should help a little... At the same time trying to coat the screen of my cellphone with protective foil. Need to hurry a bit because I gotta head out later. Not easy, because the soup's not ready yet.
  2. Yeah, I'm aware of the stuff ... but at the moment I don't know how to fix it. Hope I can get back to this soon...

    US Debt

Yes, indeed. But if America "inflations away its debt", it will make peoples saved money worth less because inflation eats it up. And don't argument now with "inflation-bond interest", because if you do that then the debts will stay at their level and won't shrink. They must shrink and this can only be through higher inflation than interest. Which will eat the money away which we save for our retirement or anything else... good video!
  4. So I have now removed the old skins because the display is just impossible. They're not compatible. Note that the only official skin we have at this point is the official IP Board 3.2.2 preset skin. I'm probably going to play around with some of them from now on, changing, reverting ... the usual testing stuff. I gotta see if I can find a free skin that suits our needs. So if you see another skin in the menu, better don't change to it unless we make it offical!
  5. Yes, definitely, the Aurora is even better than the Immersion one. But I do like that one a lot too... This is a cool style. Keep it up!
  6. Try this: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr44T5whoFE (edit: if you don't see it (which I just experienced): it's Patara - Fratzengeballer)

    US Debt

Well, you can see easily where it's heading then. These politics of "living on debt" as we are doing now -- living on the debt of what we actually owe to the poor countries in the world (not in an absolute, but also in a moral way) and also living on debt to nature -- WILL end. They will have to end because at one point of time there won't be anything we can loan from these two factors anymore. The question is only if humans are doing enough to stop this before it is going to, yeah really, drag us all down to doom with everything. But the bad thing about all this is, people see this and so they try by every means necessary to keep this facade up and running with even more and more burden on the people and on nature just to not make it crash, because if it does then hell will literally break loose. And so they try and try to get a few more years of luxury and prosperity, resulting in drowning resources even more and thus even more increasing the severity of the oncoming crisis. In long term this will result in probably the worst of all, which is a slow and painful economic descent that involves the pressure continuing and ever increasing (because people want desperately the economy to be held up and not break and more and more measures are required on the cost of everybody) while the life standard still goes down and down continuously in a slow curve. And the shit is that nobody is counting on this, they are all counting either on that it goes up, that it continues like that or that it goes BOOM, but with such a long exhaustive down-curve I doubt that people can cope with and this in fact might then result in our doom, not a spectacular bang and crash, but a long exhaustive road of pain that we all need to go down and when THEN a big nature disaster hits us, it is going to literally wipe us off the planet. We are close to the turning point of the curve now and NOBODY wants to admit and take the first step to the downfall, this is the problem! Nobody of these coward bankers, economists, capitalists has any BALLS! And this is why it's going to be prolonged, upheld and drained out to the flesh as far as possible, but it's a fake, a facade behind which these measures of "holding it up" are contributing to stretching the true curve only. And we might already have passed the peak this way and be right on the downward curve already while nobody notices. What's behind? We don't know. That's not a conspiracy theory or anything, it's simple reality that this is all a game, an entertainment show where experts hand the door handle to each other and tell us something of "measures to keep the economy up" and something utopic about a levered Euro protection fund (A LEVERED protection fund. How on EARTH do you lever a protection fund so that it has more money than before out of nowhere if you don't buy more of these "casino" junk papers that actually are responsible for the crisis?!). And they even admit it, right on TV that "in situation of crisis you may not tell the truth to people". I literally saw a politican explaining this to us on the news yesterday. That is nothing but Platon's Cave right here and in front of all our eyes. Turn the fuck around, people! and then you see what's going on.
  8. Absolutely... I know we kinda should to do something about it. We need to. And everytime when I read such statements and comments like that, I do think that I'm going to do this and that ... in the end it ends up that I don't have the time or the energy and then it stays like it is, for my part at least. I think the past forum politics have made this place rather something serious, where you only come to discuss music and a bit of other things, but the majority of off topic happenings have been put aside to other forums and communities. And that's why it is still not very busy here and it stays like that. There was a development in the past years and you can't just revert it in a few months, actually I think you'll never revert it... But on the other side it's also nice, for this forum has gained seriousness in its reputation ... reviews and music discussion (psyNEWS of the scene) are our core competences. And maybe we can extend that even further with some current ideas that are flowing around (on the other hand these ideas require work again and well, you know what I said about that above, but still). ... Anyway, that was probably a bit too much rambling for me. Feel free to disucss elsewhere ... I for my part say a big welcome to you guys that find here or come back here. And also to Phobium ... although I'm late
  9. Eating chocolate and listening to: Need to chill after the stress of the day. Fortunately not negative stress, but rather positive one. Still, I'm tired ... will go to sleep soon...
  10. Thanks for feedback. I just was editing my sig a bit and I experienced a hang of kinda the whole site. It all was blank, oddly it concerned all pages. I immediately checked with other browser and saw it was not the site, but my browser (Opera 10.5x)... Had to close the browser and reload to make this disappear. So be careful when updating your sig or anything ... just to mention it.
  11. Wow, this one is awesome! I like it a lot. Has album cover qualities, seriously... Keep up the good work!
  12. Thank you for the feedback, guys! I really appreciate it. Also, thanks very much to Richpa for the new logo. I like it a lot, the current one has gotten dusty and doesn't go well with the colors anymore. I'll see if I can use the new one (or Penzoline's version of it, if I may)... (edit: logo updated; I chose Penzoline's version because it's in .png format and I could instantly use it ) Same here, it runs very smooth. What browser are you using, Penzoline?

Thread created. Read more about the upgrade here: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/62546-board-updated-to-a-new-version/
  14. Hello folks, first of all sorry that I have not made the news bigger in advance to make you prepared a little, but I was kind of underestimating the relatively big visual impact this was going to bring. Anyway... We have upgraded our board to a newer version and are now running InVision PowerBoard 3.2.2! You might have noticed that the layout has changed quite a bit. Probably some might find the new one better/worse ... I confess that I don't like it at all ... but either way, it won't be changed that soon for now because there are other things to do first. For the users of the dark skin I have to say sorry for the hurts in the eyes, because you'll probably see the default skin now, like me. Please have a bit of patience until we find a way to sort this out. Second thing are the avatars. Yes, they don't look good, I know. It seems to have taken not the pics we used at posting, but the profile avatar. The only thing that's not bad about it is that it seems to affect all of us alike. So please be so kind and change your profile pic to something new and awesome yourself if you feel the current one is not good. If there's any bugs, strange happenings, incompatibilities, insecurities with the new look and feel and options that you might now have, please feel free to comment and post here. You may also give feedback when you not like something Other than that, welcome to our new board. Let's get acquainted!

    RIP Steve Jobs

I am not a fan of his products, in fact I hate them. But that doesn't hinder me to wish him to rest in peace and all the best wherever he may be now from the bottom of my heart. RIP

    US Debt

Yes, you are right. They are indeed sending Greece bankrupt the controlled way. Not only all signs point towards that, it also is certain that a 20% "haircut" is made on the assets. But the "fun" thing is, that even with these 20% "haircut" you'll need more taxpayer money to save some banks as some already have said they'll go bankrupt if the assets are downgraded 20%. And what's interesting is that the majority of the greek debts are not yet paid. The biggest debt loads for Greece are yet to come in a few years as I saw in a diagram presented in financial newspapers. And when they are due, the Greek will even need more money. This is counterproductive to everything. The Greek must save their asses off which makes their economy suffer and choke every impulse that would bring economy up and the country out of crisis. At the same time, the European tax payers get pissed off at the Greeks because they have to pay their tax money for them, resulting in a disruption of european unity. While in the end this taxpayer money isn't enough and Greece will need more, but at the same time also to save even more which makes the greek taxpayers pissed off and do strikes. All just that the banks get their money! It would be comical if it wasn't so shockingly true. Good answer, Rotwang. It's by far not your own guess, you described the features of a currency pretty well and it explains why gold is so sought after. The question is, when people have nothing to eat or to drink, wouldn't a piece of farmland be worth more than the gold?

Just pray people won't realize how bad they are scammed. If they don't realize, it will be fine. By the way, don't listen to "economy prophets" these days. Most of the people are traders and a trader either gives advice to buy things he already has stocked up on (to keep demand/price high) or they give advices because they directly sell it. Ever saw a gold merchant talk bad about gold?
  19. I like the "Ode to The Bouncer" But this is 0wnage. Seriously. I love that one... And now I got a totally different one. They don't play so cool stuff on our radios, but this was one of the rare gems: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTUhAWwsVHE

Veracohr is right, Procyon. Western or also Northern countries might be very developed and have a good quality of life. But this is about debts ... and those are sky high. And if people realize that these debts can't get paid back and that they were scammed, we will probably have a big crash and a fundamental change in the money system that's probably going to render every value that was created under the old system (the one we have now) worthless or at least drastically reduced in value (stripped of all the interest money and all, leaving the real physical value that is far less than the monetary one ... this is true, some people who buy gold now already don't speculate on a higher value later, they speculate to at least have SOMETHING in their hands during or after the crisis that is worth more than the amount of money they paid for the gold before the crisis). Simply said, lots of people are going to lose their money. And then it will be the point where the working classes go to the streets because they got no money and no perspective anymore and it will be somewhat like we saw in London a few months ago, only that it will be fucking everywhere, also in front of your door. And then it won't be far fetched that economy might come to a grinding halt, letting all the infrastructure of the society collapse along with it ... won't be long until policemen and firemen don't receive their salaries anymore (after all, what to buy with the salary anyway when it's worth nothing) and then there could be anarchy and as much as I enjoy a society of chaos in theory and imagination, it's probably going to be fucking hell. The money in this system is stained, spoiled and in every dollar/euro there are meanwhile a lot of "dead" factors in it that are only holding the price/value inflated. This air needs to get out, but it needs to be done SLOWLY. Like a benzo addict with tolerance you can't quit cold turkey. But at the moment we don't quit, we cure withdrawal symptoms by taking more benzos ... and when we continue like this, it will be our road to doom. Prepare for above scenario.

    Strasbourg

I can't help you with Strasbourg. But just 80 km south of you is the german city Freiburg, that would do for a short trip, wouldn't it? Today you could see Para Halu there. But maybe that's a bit too short-timed ... sorry When I did a search for Freiburg on Goabase I saw that in November there seems to be another good party there, maybe you wanna go: http://www.goatrance.de/goabase/party/details/62207 It says Stuttgart there. But also Stuttgart isn't that far away, just about 120km to the east, should also do for a short trip.
  22. Hi guys, I find it is a really good idea as the psy scene does not have such a type of thing. There is Discogs and there is the Psychedelic Mind Expander and there are the forums, but these are not the same as the idea presented here. At the moment we are discussing this internally. Stay tuned for more info.
  23. Just plain 0wnage. Wait for the song starting at 0:45... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG-wO1Tbrjg I had the pleasure to listen to it on the radio while driving Divine! Only thanks to the track service of the radio I know what song it is...
