I feel like an idiot now, because that church on the hill is in another town But I'll drop by your club next time I'm in Copenhangen when I can manage...
  2. I bought a burger from McDonalds (a new edition). This one: It was quite horrible to eat, the sauce squeezed out everywhere and it also tasted bad. I was so pissed off I even wrote a complaint mail to McD saying the burger is so shitty it stains everything and after eating you look like you made a handjob to an elephant with testicle inflammation. But I myself am to blame. Why on earth did I go to McD? I hate that restaurant. I'll not do it again anyway... But I'm curious if I get an answer to my mail
  3. Holy cow, how could I actually miss this release? I'm shocked, but it did happen. I remember I had registered that it was released, thought I'd put it on a to do list to listen (and review), but that list obviously got squandered somewhere so that I must have forgotten about it. And that was also the reason why I wasn't looking in here, because I said to me "wait, I'll first listen, make my own opinion and then see what people say". That must have come to this that I missed practically everyhing so far. Terrible, terrible. Usually it's not like that though, fortunately Anyway, guys, it's fine to get to know such a lot of the Pusherstreet group history here (after all I knew that history before ), but if you want to talk about the situation of Christiania, please do it in another thread. It's enough to state that the name Pusherstreet was picked in reference to Christiania ... and regardless concerning what goes on there, I find the name damn awesome! What else captures the essence of the sound of this group more than PUSHERSTREET? As I first came across this project, I didn't know at all what the name actually means, I just found it damn awesome and fitting to the sound, because "pushing" it is for sure - and that's what it still is to me. Judging from the posts - as some of you obviously desired another review for this, let me try give it a go The release contains four tracks. Of we go with "Something New, Old". This track was obviously originally called "Something Old, Something New" ... at least that was the title of the alpha version that I luckily got to hear some time ago (weee, I finally can talk about this, hehe ). The latter had been on my mp3 player for quite some time already and it was a perfect tune to run to. It's the same with this, but this sounds much better because it has the element of a changing bassline that makes the whole sound somehow melt into itself where the sum of things is greater than its parts. The whole song is starting off quite basic, with a simple structure that builds and gets more and more bold over time (even though it doesn't change) until to the point where the bassline changes, the effects shift a few keys and the whole thing suddenly gains an integrity that is quite cool. What I like about this is the range of things that Pusherstreet showcase to be done with a relatively simple song structure and simple elements. The second track "Can't Be Stopped" is the classic that the release text suggested. That is the explanation for the people who don't know. People who know will not need an explanation because they instantly recognize this from the Goagemiein.de compilation "Groove In Progress". As I am counting myself to the latter, this track is old news for me, I know it like my legs, who are shaking to this as they can't sit still to it. It's not a fast track, but it has got a nice groove. "Pusherstreet can't be stopped!" - what a catch line. It's the same slogan as on the sticker that is pictured on the cover. I have already asked and I was told these were real stickers that were handed out to the public to raise awareness for Pusherstreet in Christiania. Anybody still has one of them? I take it - and put it on my bicycle, anytime. I'm serious. If you got one, PM me After that, it's time for a "ZnowZtorm". Is that the voice of a Wookie sampled at the beginning? Or wait, when it's a SnowStorm then that must be the Star Wars Yeti. Hold on, it IS the Star Wars Yeti (and even if it's not, it sounds a lot like it - compared with youtube right now)! How cool is that?! See, that is an exact example for the cool humour these guys sometimes have in their tracks - that's one more reason for me to like this project so much. Nothing tells me "shut up, dance and be happy" in a better, fresher, funnier and more fitting way than this music. And the track is perfect. Jump around, wiggle the melody around, smile. And on winter days, you can have fun in the snow. It is that good And then it's already time for the last track - "Acid Test". And hey, I do recognize this one - yes indeed, that was the one I repeatedly played the track snippet on Myspace and kept my neighbours up with it, I liked it so much. "License and Registration!" ... just a perfect sample - perfect because I recently had the joy to drive across Austria as a passenger of a guy who had, guess what, no driver's license. Hahaha! I'd have shat my pants if the cops came. Which they didn't. And it's great to have the full track now! It is the most intense one on this release, with a lot of power on the synths. The "acid" in the title isn't there for nothing. I like how at the beginning the melody is simple, builds and then it's like the main one kind of breaks through with a blast. The music of Pusherstreet is not complex. It is simple, yet the guys manage to do a lot with these simple elements. Also, the melody and rhythm combine very well, they are practically one, you can't seperate them, it all works together and is integrated very tightly and skillfully. And that is why I find this to be great art. Others might think differently, but I find this awesome. Sure, it's nothing to lie on the couch with closed eyes and pay attention to every layer. Come down from the complexity. Why not doing your favourite sports to it? You gonna love it. At least I do Overall: awesome release. And a big shame that I had missed it from the start. Doesn't matter, it'll get enough spins on my player now Get it from Ektoplazm
  4. You can also try Hilight Tribe. Their music is more focused on trance (in its very sense) and they achieve it with mostly organic instruments. For example they have a real bassline - played with a bass. I have not yet encountered another band that has that... http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj3tHQM71Ak
  5. And that is the point. Who would have thought that of such promising acts of the past that they now are clinically dead when it comes to releasing new stuff? I wouldn't have expected that. Go, S-Range, go! You already got 2 votes
  6. Yeah, there needs to be some foreplay Especially if you are playing around with anticipation to wait for the intense moment... hehe
  7. Well, I do think differently (I can well listen to this in one piece and I like every track of them), but I'm happy that you find it good
  8. I voted for S-RANGE. First because I'm the biggest fan Second because I think this guy really has his album together sooner or later ... and he's in the position to release it (he's not without a label or anything). As much as I like Astral, I don't think they'll have it before him.
  9. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me present you The Album Race! We (that's me in this case, I am just saying "we" to sound awesome ) have picked two artists in a comparable position - S-Range and Astral Projection - and the title suggests: it is about the release of a new album. These two artists interestingly have the same situation concerning the release of a new album. Summarized in short: it takes ages and there is no output. The only thing that fans who are eagerly awaiting the new release seem to get from them is postpones and postpones and postpones. And postpones. And lets not forget postpones. Anybody can prove me wrong? Do it PLEASE! There is a number of other similarities between these two aswell which only support the fact that they are indeed comparable: - both artists have been switching label - both artists have released and are still releasing tracks and / or collaboration tracks which get published on compilations or albums of other artists - both artists have released a Remix Album after their last one - both artists are currently very active concerning live performances all over the globe So let's put them in a race where the criteria to win is to officially release a new album that people can buy (that means no illegal stuff and no singles and no remix album, it must be an artist album)! Who will win? Pick your choice and let us know! The race is on. More information about the contestants: S-RANGE Last official artist album release: "Space" (Feb. 2003 (according to Discogs)). Remix Album "Remixed Memories" released: 2010. Some more facts: As far as I can think back, the first news about a new S-Range album sparked in 2004. Then there was an album to be released with the title "Another Theory" in about 2005 on Liquid Records, but it leaked out somewhere and has never been released officially because of that (thats what I have heard). This release is illegal. It is listed as "Another Theory" CDr album with a release date in 2005 at Discogs. The single "Another Theory - The Remixes", which was intended to accompany the album, was released by Liquid Records in 2006 (according to Discogs). Another single "S-Range EP" was released by Groove Zone Records on Beatport in 2006. ASTRAL PROJECTION Last official artist album release: "Amen" (Oct. 2002 (according to Discogs)). Remix Album "Ten" released: 2004. Some more facts: The single "Joy EP" by "Astral Projection & Roy Sela" got released in 2010 by Trust in Trance Records. Astral Projection currently have no label (as far as I know). (Any more information about the contestants is very welcome ) (Side note: I do know that it might be hard for the artists too and that they don't delay albums just for fun (seriously, who would do that, it is good for nothing and nobody). With this Album Race, I just want to make the best situation out of the bad one that I am in as a fan when I can't and can't get my fix (seriously, I am (almost) dying for these two new albums and it pisses me off that they don't come ... and I feel kinda mocked when they play so many live performances with their new stuff and don't release any of it ... so I get creative)... ) Anybody with me? Anybody wanna vote? Input?
  10. Good to hear that I gave a good recommendation You make me roll up the whole stuff I used to listen to back then, hehe. There was one more artist you'll probably like aswell ... as far as I know he has been working quite closely with Klangstrahler Projekt anyway. It's Feuerhake. His first two albums were great ... but then he went to Synergetic records (Austian label) and started to make progressive trance. That stuff is not so bad either, but it has nothing to do with his first two albums. His early stuff I found great. And it has organic sounds aswell. There are even trumpets in "La Aurora": http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y6r78GbV_o glad you like the track ... yes, please do check the album out, it's available for free on Ektoplazm and it should be heard
  11. Atmos - So Nice You Name It Twice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSEF5R7AMr4
  12. Also, for some recent (and actually even better) stuff, try this: Etnoscope vs. Pusherstreet - Meta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w96kMiS9ous (you can get the Tank Fuel compilation for free that contains this track ) Etnoscope - Might & Magic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbAf9-TQ9Pw (album available for free too ) hehehe
  13. For good or interesting basslines, maybe try some of the old scando prog trance (yes, more reasons to be proud to be scandinavian for you )... Noma has some very interesting ones, too bad he's not making music anymore. Noma - Brötekölserud: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNj_nQLeLeo Or for something different: Noma - Another Time for example ... has a little sad mood imo, but it's a great track. Bassline might not be what you anticipate at all, but it's one of a kind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kwa3RVX2XhU
  14. absolutely right No really, almost every goa and trance piece has this moment that I wait for ... it's in the nature of the music, many of the tracks build up to a specific passage of intensity or climax. And that's mostly what I wait for - and I wait for something in almost all of the goa or fullon or trance tracks. Good DJs then are skilled enough to stretch and play with these climaxes / "killargh passage" moments and the anticipation so that the result is even more satisfying ... like some dominatrix playing with the her customers' anticipation of orgasms ... oh, oopsie, are there really parallels - I think there are hehehe... The exception is progressive IMO. There it's more about steadiness, delivering a rather constant output instead of playing around with climaxes or anticipation ... it's much more balanced and easier controllable both for listener and DJ - more control for me as the listener, maybe that's why I like prog so much...
  15. I don't doubt that Avi and Lior are great guys and I like them and wish them the best, but that is a neverending story with the album here... All we get is track snippets, cuts from livesets and speculations and the rumor kettle boiling. Not that the situation is not interesting and probably even artistic in itself, but I would much prefer seeing an album from these guys finally released. There is nothing happening since years, it always gets postponed... I actually begin to have doubts that this will ever come out. Anybody can argue against? Please do, I would be happy if anybody could... Fun fact: I remember in the course of my last postings here (which were some time ago), I mentioned that three of my favourite artists have this "album taking forever syndrome". It was S-Range, Astral Projection and Etnoscope. Now Etnoscope are out of the race as their album got released last year! So it's now a head to head between S-Range and AP ... and now, after reading the last developments, I would place my bet that S-Range will release before AP. We could open a betting contest
  16. Well, I have nothing against the music sounding techy, after all I feel very comfortable with synth frequencies and started to listen to electronic music for the reason that it doesn't contain organic instruments... But I nowadays see it as an interesting element when tracks contain organic instrument sources. This element, however, will only as long stay interesting to me as this doesn't get a too common practice Anyway, here is another recommendation for you: Klangstrahler Projekt. They are more known for using guitars than other string instruments, but they do have these too. I listened to them a lot in the past, I had their first two albums ... then it somehow got silent around them and meanwhile they released a bunch of other stuff, but I failed to keep up, so don't ask me about the more recent releases... Anyway, I'm sure you'll like them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtVgs9TvsCo Or this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-vTb2tbzEk
  17. Nice ideas, the tracks you posted are very good I like organic instruments too, but I don't think they fit in everywhere. In this one they fit - if the melody is even played on an organic instrument, because I have my doubts. But at least you could play this on an organic one and it would still sound great IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHWonf-7qj8
  18. Interesting style. It's good to give this thing a name; to me it appeared that many fullon that I heard on parties lately went more and more into this direction, mixing it with darker sounds and such... I was already thinking that fullon got attractive to me, but it seems it's not like that
  19. Got it! It's great for me to hear new stuff from Panzar Produktionz - fresh, crunchy and tasty. And you're still releasing it for free. Man, this is awesome I can only recommend people to get this
  20. Awesome finds. I especially like the third one, Dancing Galaxy is one of my favourite AP tracks ... I wonder if I had instantly recognized the origin of the track...
  21. I like the basketball court on the right
  22. RTP

    Dead Space

that's at least a really good explanation
  23. Yes, it's true that the game does not have much of a tribal setting. But when I run across the roofs of the city on the run from the guards, I'd have nothing against it... But it might also be the music that I knew from Jesper before (UT) that makes me expect the tribal sound. Yes, the release of the game was far too rushed. They should have beta tested it some months and many glitches would have been fixed at the release. The PS3 version came a bit later, so the worst problems were not there ... but only after the Titan Pack and Patch combo this game lives up to its true greatness and it's such a pity so many people got turned down by that time already. There really aren't that many players anymore... I'm still a huge fan though, in my eyes this is the second best UT after the first one .... so I still play the occasional deathmatch on PS3
  24. I am ... having diarrhea. Was so stupid to drink non tap water on a campsite. But it really is not only me to blame about this. Why are the guys there so stupid to make two sanitary houses one next to each other, the one with drinking water, the other with a small non tap water symbol on the outside. First day I only registered that water was ok to drink from the tap in the sanitary house. And then I woke up in the morning quite wasted with a cottonmouth and swayed blindly into one of the two to drink - and it was the wrong one. Well, I went to the doc, got antibiotics and some stuff to reconstruct my intestine bacteria. But the last days I felt like shit (litterally).
