  1. There is already some biodegradable kind of plastic that dissolves in water. That concerned prototypes of cookie packaging (you know, the plastic trays they mostly are in when you open the outer package). So I think we aren't too far away from that step. Other than that, why not use starch? That's probably what the above mentioned CD packaging is manufactured of.
  2. I hope the cake is not a lie
  3. I don't know, but this appears kinda polarizing to me, made up for the masses. I used to watch a better series, a german one that is focusing more on music videos and showing what gestures and symbols mean. Not so much polarisation, selling soul to devil or whatever, just more focus on actual information. With such "documentaries", you have to take care that you don't fall into the opposite pit, you know. The media manipulates us. But such "documentaries" manipulate aswell, in the other direction. It needs a strong mind and a good overview so that one doesn't fall into either of those pits and yet doesn't stand still, but has an opinion. There is certainly a form of secret society in the music industry. And it is very interesting when symbols, gestures, design, layouts and all that of music videos are analyzed precisely and they indeed show a lot of parallels towards masonic or satanic symbols. And there are also the people who say that the big pop stars are all manipulated and participating in big satanic rituals, getting abused and all that... However, how much of that really is true you don't know. Maybe some (or all?) of that is true and this explains the kind of "energetic" dislike of pop music which I have since I'm able to think back. I never knew why I felt like that, only after I saw these documentaries I saw that the reason for the dislike might be "evil energy" that is shown, practised or worshipped in these videos/songs and artworks. I don't know. Better listen to what your heart says and nothing else - that's what I do. I just don't like pop for some reason, that's why I listen to psy (and metal).

    Insomnia

indeed ... I am using it continuously now and right now I feel much more relaxed and tired than I do normally at this time I feel like I'll even postpone the shower to tomorrow morning and go straight to bed now...
  5. omg did you really try to eat the CD packaging?
  6. Hi Janet oooh man, I was hangovered yesterday ... really, I mean ... totally hangovered at work. today we had public holiday, but I bet tomorrow people will ask me what shit I did yesterday. ha, celebrating I did, that's it... don't worry, not drinking alone. out with friends (and it's all Johnnie Walker's fault ... don't drink this shit, it's evil)
  7. I just remember this saying from my chemistry professor: everything is edible something only once

Hey, this is a cool application ... really cool. I already was sometimes thinking my screen is too bright. But I'm too lazy to turn down the brightness because I will have to turn it up again when I work under the day. This is really cool now because I don't need to care about resetting the brightness all the time. I installed it and it immediately changed the color. Very much more comfortable to look at now thanks a lot for the recommendation ... this is something that really can only be good for my body.
  11. Yess! And that's why I'll go out now and celebrate some see ya guys - and a happy beginning of summer

    Insomnia

Hi guys ... it has bettered Maybe also because I wasn't much checking the internets till late night these days. And also because I drank some Whisky sometimes. I sleep about 6 hours these days again. Hope it will stay like that ... which I don't know. In some weeks, I'll go on holiday and will have to fly and I have flight anxiety ... hehe... But thanks to Otto for a tremendously interesting link. I remember I once took a zinc supply (because it was contained in a vitamin c suppl I used against cold) and I felt really good while on it. I dismissed it as merely being a placebo effect, but this article now helped me to explain why the sensation was not purely placebo ... and also various other things. Very interesting, not only for people who have insomnia or depressions...

    hey all

Interesting parallels to Skid Row there indeed ... but Skid has way less intensity than Annihilator is coming across with (I am, by the way, only referring to songs posted here). Ministry isn't so much my cup of tea. But Strapping Young Lad shot the buck ... crazy stuff The rest was too goth-dustrial. I like industrial in general, but I like the more mechanic, machine-like monotonous sound. You know, Front 242, Frontline Assembly and these... What I actually wanted to check out is if there is any trash metal band giving more intense output than Annihilator. Because even Destruction or Legion of the Damned, whom I have banged my neck off seeing them live, can't give me that punch that Annihilator has. I don't know if you know what I mean ... energy-wise most Metal bends tend to emit rather dark vibes ... but Annihilator doesn't - the vibe this gives is intense, great, bright and powerful. That's what I mean. Finntroll and those other troll metal bands have it too, but in a different way, because it's not same music. Also Milking the Goatmachine have it. You see, it's not a matter of genre, it's something else. And this is what I'm looking for, kinda. This good intensity, this nice elevating feeling that doesn't make me feel shit about the world or anything, just plain fucking awesome power! It might sound a bit off the chart what I'm saying here, but this is what I feel about it
  15. Holy shit, I was born exactly 91 years after Mao Tse-Tung! And now here it comes: the birth years' (1893 / 1984) summarized sum of digits is 1+8+9+3+1+9+8+4 = 32 -> 3+2 = 5 -> ILLUMINATI NUMBER! total hardcore, isn't it? (-> http://www.famousbirthdays.com )

    hey all

Here is something for you. What do you say about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vfxjf_7yZVQ I was quite fond of Annihilator already in the past ... but only recently I got to listen to the King of the Kill tape and I must say it's fucking beyond awesome. I was listening while driving ... and well, that was just so great, absolutely insane. Even the most intense psy fullon gets crushed to bits by this IMO. If anybody wants an abstract description of the feelings I have when really upped, this is it. It's fucking awesome. Borderline, I know ... but it's just so good. Got anything more intense than this? I'd really be interested.
  17. oh god yeah... I can't wait!
  18. Dude, I always find such coincidences. I am kinda obsessed with finding any. I was bringing the german term "Mitleid Express" into my everyday life (so that friends start to say it too) because it's a track from SBK (and, by the way, a great title)... It's not too hard to find coincidences because some psy artists name tracks / samples after real occurrences or things. And I love that, because when I then, at some point of time, come across the term in real life I'm like "hey, so that is what it stands for"... For example, Magnetrixx album "Trittschall" ... it's a german word. But I never knew it existed until I heard it somewhere, I was like "aaaah, this is a real word, I freak out"
  19. No doubt it's biodegradable and eco sustainable. And maybe it's even edible, but I bet not in an enjoyable way. If this really was something good, it would be bigger news. Google's first hit on "edible CD packaging" is - tadaa - this thread I conclude that it can't be good

    Insomnia

Hooray, I got enough sleep last night! A little less than six hours it was ... fair enough compared to before. The odd thing is that I felt more tired today than ever before... Excercise is good, yes. I persuaded myself for a run this evening, we'll see if it works. I used up the valerian and the alk-free beer, this is not that good (I always used them to lull me to tiredness). But I'll drop some chemistry if sleep doesn't come. About the Seroquel ... this stuff (Quetiapin) seems to be a medication against schizophrenia, manic depression and psychotic episodes. I better won't try it or I won't have anything that helps me if I really get one of those one day. Plus my doc is cool, but I bet he won't prescribe me that. And the nurse I know that works in the psychiatric ward said it's a no-go to ask her for meds. So this stuff is not available anyway. I think I better go with benzos or with Z-meds (Zopiclon & co.)... And off to sleep...

    Insomnia

Thanks for the tips guys... In the end, it was a bit more than three hours of sleep last night I know that firing up a web browser was not a very good thing to do ... but what to do when there's a thunderstorm outside? I didn't wanna watch TV, that would be even more exhausting for the eyes... The one eye open trick is worth trying ... I do have the problem that I am very noise sensitive when I have both eyes closed - it already happened that bird twittering or TV running in neighbours flat kept me awake because of this. The only problem is that I don't have a dim light. A candle would do, but I don't wanna sleep with anything open fire stuff, plus I don't like breathing paraffinum. I'm going to organize me such a sleep light thing I guess... Thanks for the sleeping medication tips ... I read up on them yesterday night myself. I do love benzos a big lot because they cure my anxieties ... but that's why I don't wanna take them when it's not absolutely necessary, because otherwise I could probably get addicted... But if any benzo, I'd go for Oxazepam (when weak one's needed) or Xanax (if strong one's needed). These go well. I'd rather prefer trying these Z-medications though because they are new. Will try to talk with my doctor about this when it doesn't get better. This night I'll try Diphenhydramine (harmless antihistamine). Sometimes this worked ... although not always. Ambient music used to work well, but meanwhile I learned that it doesn't help with certain types of my insomnia. Ambient is good when you are already tired. But when you are not tired (which I wasn't), it's no help. That is the interesting thing: I actually wasn't very tired. Actually I felt like I could do sports last night. Even the day today was not that bad as expected ... I only let fall down a (full) salad bowl, not more - normally I'm far clumsier and also forget things at work, this time there was nothing. Now it's getting sleep time...

    Insomnia

And again, it's insomnia for me. It's really shitty. This is the third night I don't sleep properly. Fist night still was OK, got about 4 hours, not much to recover from weekend, but not a problem. Second night was tougher, only three. This day was kind of bad, but still manageable. But now it's the third night and so far it has not been a fucking minute of sleep because we had a thunderstorm with, well, thunder. The shit is, I cant take a sleeping pill now because it will knock me out (because of the valerian which I am already on) and I have to get up in 4,5 hours. I got so angry about the situation that I jumped up in bed and cursed at the world loudly a little bit - bad idea, because now I am even more upped. So I figured I'd get up and moan a bit about this now, I really feel like it. I'm on a load of valerian and some whisky and my head hurts like a bitch. Anybody else suffers from insomnia from time to time? What do you do against it?
