    Insane

that ought to be a joke what is this album anyway?
  2. yeah, Lungs of Life really made me think if they kinda lost it...
  3. yeah indeed, thank you so much travbrad! awesome statistics! this is really cool
  4. this one's so stupid that it's already almost good
  5. Saturn Return has closed down? awww... Well, but Milky Way Rec. is in the same street anyway (Tyska Brinken), no? I remember I got the psy CDs I brought home from Sweden from a store in Tyska Brinken, don't know anymore if it was the one or the other
  6. well, I don't really know... I kinda like some Shpongle stuff off AYS, but most of it is too whacked off for me. I don't like the stupid samba vibe in the later ones ... and they sound like they are obliged to sound crazy and not naturally, don't know if you get what I mean. FSOL on the other hand is even more horrible. I found Dead Cities in some store recently, for 5 Euro or so ... and I pre-listened it there since I got excited because there's much talking about FSOL on this forum here ... but I got utterly disappointed, this was no chill or anything, this was sorta screeching electronic cramped madness to me, kinda. I hated it. I mean, if I want somewhat this type of stuff I'd rather go for some straight edge FLA industrial, but never for this strange "postindustrial psy-chill", sorta. I left the CD there, I'm not giving a bread and butter for this. But I'm somewhat startled why people talk so good about FSOL here. What I heard was awful. I mean, taste is taste, but what would you guys say? Is there an album from them that I would like more? Still, as of now, concerning the subject ... overall I don't like both If I found any of their CDs (of any of the two) for 5 Euros, the only one I'd buy would be AYS. So I guess that means I still prefer Shpongle over FSOL. Don't really feel I like them enough to vote though...
  7. very interesting ... thanks for the link I'd totally have missed it, I'm never looking around on Isratrance... I'd be very curious to hear more of these "old versions" of the songs though. I believe I have found the old Skintrade, in (2nd track, you'll recognize it) ... the rhythm is IMO 10 times better than the album version... and when that one's good, maybe the rest is good aswell? Is there any chance to hear more of these lost versions? and btw: ...so it's Vitalizer and not Marktstrasse? I can't believe it. That german word has become far too audible...
  8. yeah, the foam ones are good too, but they can provide too much dampening on occasions... that's why I prefer the handkerchief ones (if you use good soft paper ones they won't hurt ... only cheap toilet paper hurts in my experience) ... you can practically adjust them for yourself individually for each party ... use more paper if it's louder, use less and roll it not that tightly if it's not so loud...
  9. The discussion "physical versus digital" is already quite old ... meanwhile one just has to accept that there are people who prefer this and people who prefer that... anyway, it's a good question whether a digital release is the most eco-friendly one ... the servers to host it need power too ... and to manufacture the servers and PCs themselves there's also lots of resources necessary ... only question is whether they count or not, since almost everybody in the western world has now got a PC... you could solve the problem though by buying environmental certificates that guarantee to re-cycle the exact amount of CO2 (for example by foresting up or whatever) that the release has produced, no matter in what form... how about that?
  10. daybrain, you are from germany, aren't you? if you are, head over to http://www.goatrance.de/goabase they've got a forum there (besides party news) ... a bit chaotic, but I bet you'll like it
  11. good that you address this, I feel the same ... not about Aes Dana in particular though but still, I don't like when people throw all Ultimae stuff into one pot ... the artists on there have still pretty different styles...
  12. same here... the ott-style dub doesn't fit in this one ... and he forgot the best melody in the song altogether...
  13. I first read "the abasio brothers" their style's almotst too soft for me already...
  14. oh god, PLEASE never stop releasing physical media! digital releases are unpersonal and somewhat "cheap" to me ... real devotion I can only show for releases that come in physical format, I can touch them, I can look at the booklet (even though it's mostly just an inlet), I feel like I really own something! Digital releases I associate with unpersonality and "don't care" attitude ... something that you could as well download for free with some p2p software. In the past I had a ton of digital releases on my HD and listened to maybe a quarter of them. And I fear that this will be the case again when releases only come in digital form anymore... there's a nice dscussion about this in the thread about CompactSticks in the Music Making/Production Industry subforum ... look it up
  15. wubby wub, I love my old retro Eurodance oh yeah, Abe's Oddysey was an absolutely great game! And Abe's Exoddus was totally cool aswell ... exploding farts! EXPLODING FARTS! too bad Munch's Oddyssey was an xbox exclusive, I kinda lost track of the Oddworld series there. But 2d jump'n'run is much better style than 3d IMO... by the way, there's another Music Instructor video where Abe's got a brief appearance (and the Glukkons and a Slig too!): ... and actually I like that song much much better than Get Freaky. By the way, I don't really know, but didn't Music Instructor kinda continue their music with the Flying Steps project, with the breakdancers as support? This song of them: ... it reminds me a lot of what could have become of Music Instructor ... and it's awesome btw.
  16. I always thought it was "sounds like the kids gonna face sm-sex!" I listened to that one right now and found it awesome. it's much more intense and that "da-da!" effect in the main melody cracks me up :posford: oh and btw: "Seratonin Sunrise - pay the price for last night's experiments!" ... that punch line I already etched on my desk in gymnasium! god damn, that was seven years ago! awesome
  17. you all forgot: earplugs seriously, put something in your ear ... I always drill my own ones out of handkerchief stripes, I find it pays off for me, they don't dampen too much, yet the sound is still a bit less biting in the ears and I have no tinnitus experiences anymore the days afterwards have fun!
  18. I think Bahamut's your best bet on this ... do what he says I got Klaus Schulze - "X", Tangerine Dream - both Phaedra & Quichotte, Jean Michel Jarre - both Oxygene & Equinoxe... not a spectacular collection, but I got them all dirt cheap on vinyl because I was digging through a few cartons at a record fair ... record fairs can be a good bet if you want old ambient vinyls and are not despised by the smell of cellars (they do all smell of cellar )...
  19. a myspace artist/label list? that's sysiphus work imo ... there are soooo many! and you can't just say "let's make a list of only the major ones" ... define what major is ... I'd want to have Matenda in the list aswell for example ... and in the end you've got hundreds of users suggesting hundreds, even thousands of artists! well, but if you want do the work ... I wish you nice working
  20. Ha, I'm happy to see that Only Planet was the track from that set posted some time ago ... loved that one! thanks for the news, I totally forgot to add Eat Static ... how could I!
  21. well, my beginnings were with stuff like E-Rotic - Fred, Come to Bed (we used to make fun of it in school) ... and then Dune - Million Miles from Home and Mr. President - Coco Jambo and all the other stuff on the Bravo Hits CDs ... I actually don't wanna get into that... and later there was the better stuff, some of it which I still like today: Dance 2 Trance - Power of American Natives : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9UsNZIInjo ... and it was exactly this version, the '98 one! 11 years ago, I was 13 back then, yep, yep, that was my favourite song ... aaah, the memories, definitely the best one Then there was Vertigo - Magic Eyes : ... loved that one! DJ Quicksilver deserves a mention too! Here's Escape to Paradise : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FViRmIqCQY4 And Music Instructor ... omg, I loved them, still like them ... they were the only ones with an Abe (from Oddworld, does anybody know?) video and I was a crazy Oddworld fan back then (still love the first two Abe games!) ... here's Get Freaky : And then there was Phil Fuldner - The Final. Absolutely cool tune because I got such a strong memory of it. This was the first time I expereinced sensations from actually simple sounds and got to see that electronic music can be art : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wirlQI4GD04
  22. that one is good aswell... but nothing against Protektor, especially that video ... trippiest ever, blow ya mind:
  23. whoa! thanks a lot! this is probably the coolest lineup ever
