Yeeehaaaayyy :posford: I have been waiting for this since somebody uttered that rumour at the beginning of the year! And it's so awesome that this good news comes RIGHT NOW, at 2 AM when I finally am finished with my thesis! That can't be coincidence! *collectively hugs all ultimae fans*

he is

Interesting... I thought he just was too lazy to complete What's going wrong there? Yes, me too All aboard the fail boat? Well, maybe. But there are some good moments. And the first track can catch a ride in a rescue raft. Kinda. It's not old Astral, that's clear ... the power is not there. But it's not that bad of a fullon as I expected. Part 7 I find lots worse. Imagine hearing something like that (including the crappy remix of Mahadeva) after some of their real oldschool tunes. I did. Beh. Beeeh! Anyway, I will watch out for that album (and I maybe even will get it), despite it's not looking like a masterpiece already beforehand. It's the Astral thing. I think once in my life I wanna buy an Astral album when it comes out - a real one, not "Ten" ... Ten is :wank:
-
Anyway, they're taking a damn lot of time for that bit of fullon, don't ya think? I mean, Open Society is a great track, but most of the new stuff is more dull... It seems to be "in" these days to take AGES - yes, freckin' AGES - to release some album. Astral Projection aren't the only ones. There's Atmos, S-Range, Etnoscope ... all of them in the same situation. Release that baby, guys ... waiting isn't fun!

I always thought I'm the last to know pop things like that... Turns out I'm not

it's the 32th...

I want to have your brain. Do you accept maestro express payment?
-
yep, that's why I really begin to dislike all that Timbaland hype And I dislike Nelly Furtado, because she's the image that my dislike of Timbaland projects on, because in videos you rather see her than him for obvious saliva-dripping reasons amongst male individuals in heat.
-
that will become a standard line, eh?
-
because it's so expensive? well, maybe, but there are the cases where you find some interesting stuff at record fairs ... some people have no idea what they're selling... improbable, but not impossible.
-
I don't get that "if you did" ... you mean owning or selling?
-
none of the artists involved should rate the work of the collab, simple as that Yes, three times yes, but that's something I assume beforehand. I don't need the unnecessary proof of the artist rating his/her work, I set it as obligatory that the artist loves what he/she's doing. And don't come with examples where this isn't the case, because I think it's the case with the stuff I like ... and even if not then I believe it, in my universe this has to be the case
-
I don't like speeches. If I ever owned that record, I'd sell it ... on here.
-
Well, I think artists shouldn't rate their music ... that's like an artist writing a review about his own album ... of course that wil be biased. On the other hand this too can be an artistic expression - to purposefully rate own releases 5/5 ... would be even more funny if he rated it 1/5

Try to hunt down old Dream Dance (yes, that commercial trance compilation) CDs. Mostly that kind of music can be found on them and they're mostly available for cheap in used record stores and such where trance kiddies sold their old CDs ... or maybe through ebay... You might want to give old Future Trance a go aswell ... my release of Push - Universal Nation is on Future Trance volume 6. Used to like that track a lot.

Explaination of Goa/Psy Vs. [Regular] Trance
RTP replied to Helios909 (rx7style)'s topic in General Psytrance
Regular trance is less "confusing" ... goatrance is more chaotic and psychedelic and therefore generally less listener-friendly like Lemmi said (well put). Trance has a more strict impression to me, goa has a more floaty one. -
You got me curious there. I was expecting killa fullon, but that is not fullon. Interesting. Checking samples. Well, actually it's synthpop psytrance. Kinda. Hmmm... Okay, it's not good, but it's not that horrible either. I actually enjoy the samples of Proton Pusher and Everybody Atomic. Overall I wouldn't pay a cent for this stuff though ... won't even download it.

You sound a lot more chilled now than in the rest of your posts. That's nice

Maybe this guy confused the label Suntrip with Günther's song of the same name (you know that ridiculous song, do you?) ... could be well possible if he was a little trigger-happy? Whatever...
-
We should declare Skazi as dead! Then again that publicity only would help him... Anyway, it's evil to shock people like that. I had the prejudice that Lyon people knew what they are talking about when it comes to ambient
-
didn't they say they got inspired by Rhapsody power metal so much?
-
That's funny, because I'm a huge fan of Makyo, but I can't stand Shpongle. AYS is probably still better than the other two, but still, I don't like the "throwing all in"-philosophy. I want structure and meditative ambience ... Shpongle doesn't have that, they have chaos.

See, here you can see how different people's tastes are, because that's what it should do for me! It actually must put me in a state of bliss, otherwise it can never be a good track for me! That's also why I dislike emotional tracks. Vibrasphere's Archipelago for example ... I don't like that one very much. It doesn't put me in a state of bliss. So it's not good stuff, I don't enjoy listening to it...
-
Oh great, great! Then he obviously is alive! I think they'd state it somewhere if anything hapened to him. I already was really worried though ... I mean, it doesn't happen everyday that somebody tells you that one of your favourite artists is dead, does it?
-
That's a difficult one... I really can't say. Although just saying "either I like or dislike" is too easy ... although it is like that with me. It's not the production quality. It's not the psychedelia. It's not even the melodies. It's not the structure. Track doesn't need to have beginning and end. It's not a matter of the genre. And it's not - not at all - a matter of emotions in the music. To an extent it's originality. But only to an extent. It kinda much depends on the flow of energy. You know, music is energy. And I like the artists who make the energy flow wisely through my mind and through my body in a certain way. I often recognize this type of music where there's a long progressive track that's always and continuously and steadily giving energy, never too much, never too little. This energizes my mind and body in a way that is just perfect. On the other hand there are relaxing tracks which make my body relax and my thoughts chill just in a perfect way ... just like a good massage could do for example. And that's not even so far apart, because the massage as well as the music activate certain energy centres in the body. If it's the right ones, then the music is good. If there is a disturbance, it's not good. This is something that can't be measured in "psychedelia" or other criteria of music production, it's something else, something deeper. It also can't really be mesured with genre. It's funny, but I guess that's how it is...
