  1. Where is Moni actually? Haven't seen her around in the last months at all
  2. I had that info from Rickard ... he told me. Best news source is to ask the artists when there's a chance I don't know when the new Vibrasphere will come out though
  3. Aaah, I even remember Rick telling me about this! But I totally forgot the name of the project (I'm terrible with names) ... and I thought nobody else would know, so I didn't ask Thanks for bringing that back to my memory, because I really was interested in the Hyzer project since I liked the sound of Tributaries And indeed, the sound is good. Listening to their myspace right now. The new Vibrasphere album that comes out will however have the more traditional Vibrasphere sound...
  4. I just listened to Solid State again and now conclude that this is one of the utmost best trance albums I know! I love the warm sound and the gentle progression, the comfortable feeling ... this is so good that I'm confident that I could run around the globe to this, seriously! There's lots of other good progressive out there, but none of it that I know is equally genious in the same way. Any news on this? I'm quite puzzled that an artist who brought out a masterpiece like this just disappeared. It's like if he had the "Noma syndrome", that's the only other guy I know where it went kinda the same way - one good album and a few 12" and then all of a sudden nothing more... In the meantime, does anybody know any similar stuff? Because I'll soon need another fix
  5. yes, yes it is Exclusive tracks from Eat Static, Man With No Name, unreleased remixes from Banco De Gaia, Koxbox and so on. This was one of the first Goa Trance CDs I bought cheap and I only later on realized what a gem it actually is... don't download
  6. YIEEEEHAW! I'm waiting for that since I first listened to a CBL song. Gosh damn, I need that album SO BAD. And HUVA Network aswell... Any clue when they'll release the rereleases? And will they look different or same? Will they have a booklet?
  7. Hey, I own that one! It's released on Earthtrance compilation But that compilation got released in 1996 ... he already had several releases before that...
  8. Me too... I wasn't that much into it like you though. I kinda came to it in 1998 or so ... and because I had no money I had to get my releases from used CD markets. And since they mostly not sell new releases there (at least not cheap), I got in touch with the actual older stuff in that year. I remember Dream Dance 2 being one of the first CDs I bought ... and I instantly fell in love with Paragliders - Oasis, I remember. And there were a lot of other classics on there aswell (The Visions Of Shiva - How Much Can You Take). That's kinda where it kicked in. So I was not part of the scene, but still got to listen to the older stuff, actually grew up with it despite it actually was before my time so to say and I find that cool... And some stuff I even remember from the radio! Dance 2 Trance - Power of American Natives for example. We had this trance-kinda radio station, but it went down... Gosh, meanwhile the old Dream Dance and Future Trance in my collection have gone from love to hate to cult status. I sold a few at some point, but now I desperately want them back because of the memories Ah well, enough bragging...
  9. Yes, yes, there is a DVD (the cover is in my last post). It also comes with a CD AFAIK ... but there are several different versions, one 3D, one 2D, one CD-only aswell... I don't own it, but the occasion where I got to enjoy Oxygene in the 3D Cinema was actually the - so to say - austrian "launch show" for that DVD thing (well, "show" is not quite accurate since there maybe were only thirty people in this huge cinema, but still...). They decided to show the DVD material on the big canvas in 3D in the Cinema. The material is a live recording of the newly remastered Oxygene album (you did know that he remastered the album, no?) ... and also with the three other dudes (I assume they were the same you saw) - "because I recorded this piece on an 8 track recorder you need 8 hands to play it live", Jarre explained at the beginning. The point of it all was the dolby surround from quality cinema speakers, that's why I went there, don't have that at home. And well, the 3D concept was nice aswell ... the effect with the camera centered at a knob-twisting Jarre for example, which in the Cinema looked like he was reaching into the room with his hand and playing that synth above the heads of the people in the front rows, that looked amazing. I'll surely remember that. Even though I didn't see Jarre live, but how often do the profit-greedy cinemas around here do such a thing like that ... apparently once and never again. (I made a thread about it back then (so amazed was I ) ... but I don't bother to search for it now, sorry ) I'd advise you to get that thing. But I don't advise the 3D version unless you got a huge plasma or canvas... Or maybe a rental video store in your town even has got the piece, then you don't even have to buy it?
  10. I think it means "use the f...ing search" Yes, we have a lot of ambient threads. But I think that's cool ... shows that people still care about that stuff. If you want to bypass the issue of always somebody posting "recommendations for xyz"-requests you could establish master threads for genre recommendations (but then always somebody will come up with a special question) or a music map system - like gnoosic's one: http://www.music-map.de/ - but for psy/ambient only. How about that idea actually?
  11. you could buy the DVD:
  12. You saw it LIVE? You bastard I only had the joy to view it in the cinema (the "Oxygene - Live In Your Living Room"-DVD ... which had the same material you saw (I'm sure, I recognized the exact song in the video you posted - also with the same bassline different to the original one from back then) and also shows them playing live) ... but that was good aswell - 3D image, dolby surround, comfy seats ... you know, in the film you definitely also get a better view of the equipment than if you just sit in front of a stage, which makes it a bit up for the "not live" thing I'd love to have it seen totally live ... but well, it was the best I could get. Still, I will definitely catch this guy live one day, I'm sure. Glad you liked the performance Did he use this odd little desk-like thing with an antenna on it aswell? And the stick synth that he grabs like a guitar?
  13. haha, yes, it's actually a good question where to draw the line... I'd still think Kraftwerk should be mentioned though. At least on a side note. Anyway, nice list, Kai-Q...
  14. great news :posford:
  15. I didn't even think of that. What a good person I am ... too good
  16. Would be cool if Solar Fields won. Magnus would deserve some attention. Hol Baumann should become well-deserved second though! Who's Laura B anyway...
  17. Healer
  18. yay! she will come to Vienna but I won't go... Would go if Hallucinogen or Shpongle came ... yes, I'd go see these, even though I don't like them THAT much... However, I still prefer Hallucinogen ... Shpongle is too weird ... actually they're both too weird ... but Shpongle more...
  19. Hooray for Magnus! The new ambient album is actually planned to be released later this year And no matter what, I bet it will be one of the best ambient stuff this year ... this man can't dissapoint, I consider this to be impossible.
  20. Haha, no, not again ... I already got arsed today Nice try though. Respect!
  21. Quite awesome stuff
  22. Bwahahaha Incredible! Is it only in our scene, that promo texts for releases are THAT engrished?
  23. I think these guys know what they're doing and use anon proxies all around the globe. You'd only block the russian people who really want to buy your stuff...
  24. I'm quite shocked nobody mentions Kraftwerk. Granted, they don't make music you can describe as "trance" nowadays, but you can see that the roots lie there. If you want to go back to the origins, a glance towards this great band is inevitable. Their song Trans Europa Express for example ... that was 1977 and it already shows elements of what modern electronic music later on became. They also had releases before (Radioaktivität) ... but I recall them having less of these elements, that's why I picked that song. The aforementined Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze are to be considered aswell IMO, although that's rather the ambient department. Also Jean-Michel Jarre - especially Jarre made some compositions later on that are more upbeat...
  25. I was thinking the same ... OMG
