Oh yesss... I got it now, today, finally (first salary ) ... and it's totally awesome! I'm tucking fired but can not go to sleep until I had at least put it in the CD player and listened a bit ... Matenda, MATENDA, man, awesome Perspectives is a totally awesome song! So far I think it's even the best one of the album, but I'm not fully through it yet...

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Hydroponic Garden A god damn awesome album ... buy this if you can find it anywhere ... I'm on the search for the CD version myself... You can also get its successor, World Of Sleepers ... that one is very very good too and it's still available. Solar Fields - Leaving Home and Blue Moon Station are awesome as well... Oh and ... what I like a whole lot about Ultimae as well apart from their great music is, that they print booklets to their CDs! REAL booklets with many photos and stuff (one picture for each track - that's the best ... not even in other music genres you find that everywhere, sometimes lyrics are cramped up on 3 pages for 10 songs...), not just those cheap 2 page leaflets! So I buy the albums not just for the sound, but for the whole package: digipak, CD and booklet ... which is as it should be. Not just cheap jewelcase, 2 page leaflet and carelessly boring CD labeling... Love Ultimae for that

Seconded, but not all tunes of the latter ones (especially Matenda) are happy... I would recommend you something like: S-Range - Dimension Jump (IMHO the best and most happy song of S-Range that exists out there!) Banco De Gaja - Obsidian (definitely ... a magical song - happy, bright and heartwarming ) Super Skunk - Planet Bliss (upbeat and happy) Klangstrahler Projekt - Rising (begins calm (not melancholic!), but gets very good in the later part - a "rising" tune indeed) Box Of Frox - U Know (chilled, relaxed and warm sound) Soundfield - Second Step Above The Sun (Etnoscope Remix) (etnoscope aside from drum madness - don't get irritated by the first 20 seconds, it's a nice song and I love this warm synth melody in the middle ) S-Range feat. Z-Man - Wonderful (simply wonderful, makes me smile every time I listen to it )

Just ordered CDs and vinyl for a total of 51,50 Euros and haven't even got my salary yet and have only 55 cents on my bank account! That was not really clever, was it?

I just stumbled across Ypsilon 5 - Binary Sky ... sounds well and is spacy, maybe you like?

*checks sample* Hey, that is a really, really good track ... thanks for the tip! (no, sorry, I don't know anything really similar ... Atmos' other stuff is good, but not as good as that ... difficult ... but when you say "these analogue sounds" I gotta think of Bad 2 The Bone ... that one sounds different though and these sounds are subtle and short, but I like the song because of this "analogue sound" reason...)

same here ... thought it would not come back before the weekend thank you, Mars :clapping:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY! I am waiting since two months! DAMN! The cover looks killargh And the samples are good. I was already looking for that Magnetrixx-ish touch in the sound WHEN IS RELEASE DATE? "Winter" is a bit unprecise ... apart from the fact that you shall be damned to let me still wait so long!

Hey! I own that tune! It's on some Ibiza compilation CD that I bought back in the times as I was a trancehead. I liked it and still do like it. In fact that's my travel tune ... I always listen to it while packing my backpack Never knew it had any impact on the scene though

Deeply Melancholic psytrance/ambient/chillout
RTP replied to Melancholyman's topic in General Psytrance
If you seek melancholy and sadness then you will like Raison D'Être's works... For more psychedelic melancholic-ambient (at least some songs) I suggest Carbon Based Lifeforms ... but you might know them already... -
that's exactly what makes me so angry: getting all the gig money without even working! you never could do such a foul number on a metal concert ... audience will rip you to pieces ... but in psy this is common...

Yeah, but I don't care if DJs look at BPM counters or not, that's not the point. Even if you look at BPM counters you have to mix right, the BPM counter doesn't mix it automatically for you. I would most likely look at the counter too. Don't care about that. What I find outrageous is playing pre-recorded sets in the way of pressing a button on the lappy and then just standing there and doing NOTHING! I mean, why is this idiot still on stage when he does nothing, he could even have taken his lappy there, pressing the button and then leaving the stage, would be the same! And that has not to do anything with BPM counters. In fact I'm even happy if they AT LEAST MIX SOMETHING, no freakin' matter if with bpm counter or without, just DO SOMETHING! Otherwise I could as well download a set and dance to it at home...

Space Buddha is quite cheesy indeed ... but they've got this one track Acid Prophecy, which is an absolute killer! Never heard anything more intense fullon than this one.

not for me, this thing please... I just want a plain old unused industry hall with some good speakers and some blacklight and backdrops / installations ... not even with these rotating club lights and annoying flashers... And I'd also prefer DJs that do their job with DISCS and not with laptops ... with a lappy it's too easy to fool audience with a pre-recorded set. I mean, yeah, I'm sure that there are some innovative individuals out there that can take mp3 DJing to a new level and yes, I also have heard good DJ sets already where a laptop was involved ... but I've also seen this type of DJ that presses the button and then does NOTHING.

Funny ... I could not laugh to that kind of stuff ... Air Song I don't laugh to, it's just a very nice warm song. And World Of Sleepers I can't laugh to, rather I have tears in my eyes to that song... I actually don't laugh to ambient. Laugh I associate with activity, increased heartbeat. Interesting thing. I don't laugh to music when I'm calm or relaxed. I only faintly smile when I'm like that. Probably this has to do with me associating happiness with activity of the body - I am like that. When I'm really active, heart beating, sweat dripping, then I'm always in some happily-driven, accelerated state of mind. And in these states of mind I only listen to upbeat electronic music, if anything. Oh well, except on humppa metal concerts ... Banco De Gaia - Drunk As A Monk ... in the later part. That can make me laugh. I know that, because I listen to it right now, haha

GOA-HEAD My favourite compilation series ... the only one that really got the transformation of this scene right - at least until volume 20. Meanwhile there's already fullon on them, a big disappointment. But until volume 20 Goa-Head was the best compilation series out there for me...

"Stay Psychedelic and watch out for the Stratosfear." still my favourite Koxbox quote (is it a quote or is it just a saying?)
