That's not really bad news that the live has been cancelled ... this way I save a lot of money Next time they hopefully still perform a live somewhere in Europe ... at best somewhere in eastern Europe, then it will be cheap...

What music are you listening to right now?
RTP replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Silicon Sound - The Jaguar and I have to think of Cinos... I didn't intend to ... I just had to... -
Oh... Well, yes, you're quite right ... although there are some tracks which I remember having heard way more than once. Back in the days it was S-Range's "Test Tones" ... and as I finally had the track I was going "aaah, now THAT is this one I like so much " And also nowadays I recognize some songs played more than once. Magnetrixx' "Zipfel" was one of them. And also some other fullon ones ... I recognize them because of the samples.

On Goabase my nick is Incensum ... but my activity there is mostly limited to just using my partytimer (and occasionally rating a party with a review that nobody read anyway, so I also gave that up...)

Do you mean hearing a tune twice on the same evening? On the same evening I actually wouldn't want to hear any tune twice. What has been played, has been played - no need to hear it again, give me something new instead! And fortunately until now I never have heard a tune twice on one evening. A tune played twice on two seperate evenings I have nothing against. But on the same evening it's a no for me...

DRESSCODE for GOA parties? RIOT! RIOT! RIOT!
-
MASSIMO SANTUCCI!!! not one single mention of that dude on here ... but it's good music ... morning progressive, I like
-
new S-RANGE new MATENDA new AES DANA that's what I'm looking forward to as of now... and the new Tegma and new Vibrasphere are good news aswell

I still plan to go see them in March. Despite everybody says they suck lately. I even bet they will suck. But I should have seen them already TWICE here in Vienna and they didn't come BOTH TIMES! So I want to finally say I have seen them at least once in my life! So I'll go if I can afford the tickets... But if they suck and I'm in the right mood I'll go straight up to these guys afterwards and ask them why they have developed from the old school goa trance gods to boring fullon clones...

I don't like strobes much ... the effect with continuous strobe and then watching your arms and legs and other people move is quite funny, yes, but I tend to get somewhat feeling dizzy and unwell. I don't like having to open-close my pupils all the time. I can say that the parties without strobe lights were somewhat more comfortable. But the comment that a strobe doesn't belong on a goa isn't true either. There are parties with and parties without, everything goes. But I like the ones without better. My first goa ever had no strobes and also no other lighting effects(!) - nothing! Only blacklight and many backdrops and a video wall beamer, no colored spotlights and all that. And it was very cool ... I'd love to attend another one like that!

Yeah, that track is cool ... I like it because of the Shiva Chandra-esque sound But except Shiva Chandra I can't recommend you much ... and I think his Auricular album is better than that song anyway ... but well. You could still try Auricular (not the album, this time I mean the artist ) ... that's another project where Daniel is in.

ah, I see ... so those artists went there and became inspired and began to make those parties there ... so basically the stuff started in goa, but it was not started by the people from there completely on their own. Did I get that right?

I'm going to psyparties since the first half of 2002 and I go about once a month during the winter time ... but sometimes it's more than one month in between, sometimes less ... it depends. In the summer time I make a break off though ... all the paries are outside of vienna then and I can't be arsed to travel far out just for some uninteresting live act (it's very rare there are really good ones). Also festivals are rather a no for me, I wouldn't be able to stand the music for so long ... but once in my life I think I'll have to do that too. So you can say I go about once a month to psyparties every winter half year since 2002. I don't blame it all on the scene evolution, but that issue clearly is one of the co-reasons for a decreasing amount of good experiences on psy parties too. I mean, okay, that reads like it's all less and less fun for me, it's not like that, I had some damn good ones last year! But in comparsion to earlier, where EVERY (yes, every!) party, also small ones and really small ones was a joyful and nice experience for me where I sometimes even met cool people and stuff it has become somewhat worse. Maybe I'm just having the need of getting used to the fact that not every party is great, but still ... this has never been the case before ... and when I'm standing there at the back and suddenly thinking "ey, what crap is this shallow full on music actually? and what's this all about here? what is a reason for me to actually LIKE being here now?" and then leaving in a somewhat grumpy state of mind thinking that it was not good (while it really was not, at least I felt so) and that I wasted money for that stuff I feel not good. And I really don't think it's just my own taste or attitude that has changed so much. That is certainly a factor too, I wouldn't deny it, but not only.

You know what irritates me? Goa Trance is said to originate from Goa ... so are the first Goa Trance releses not made by indish people? Juno Reactor and Eat Static are from England, BPC is from france ... no indish artists ? Anbody can explain that? Or are those so underground that there has never gotten anything a decent release?

MORTIIS - Født Til Å Herske I always remember having slept well and having dreamt something nice when I listen to this music (no psy or psy-ambient here, I can't sleep on that... )
-
Well, yeah, enjoy it as long as you still can ... my good expereinces on psy parties have somewhat of a trend downwards lately... If it will continue on this line I think I'll probably not be going to parties anymore in two or three years ...
-
but I find very detailed genre descriptions cool. Okay, maybe not that detailed as the one mentioned , but still, three to four words length is absolutely okay to me. Would diminish confusion and better the finding of the right music ... for me
-
wtf is that? A party in India and people from India are not permitted to attend? What the fuck? I mean, it's actually already against the rules if you restrict access to parties for ANYBODY (violent subjects excluded). What is that? Where are we? What the duck are they thinking? Who is behind that? I want names so I can boycot

sounds interesting... edit: ok, does not. it sounds not so bad, but for me no way even remotely near the ultima(t)e genious of Daniel and Johannes
-
no, suomi neither because I dunno what it is
-
no, no, nemo, that's not valid, it's not really a correct genre name! It must be named "finnish scandinavian acid psychedelic goa-ish forest techno punk full-on trance"!
-
Feel good music? Most psy (except dark, fullon and new-/oldschool) is feel good music for me! That's the reason why I like this music so much instant bliss
-
OLD we had such a thing before I remember so Isratrance stole it from us and now we stole it back from Isratrance
-
Yeah... I'm also strongly pro names. IMO the separation just into "good psy" and "bad psy" wouldn't be good at all ... it's different for everybody and all what you get in the end is a mess. I am very pro style names. The more detailed the better. I'd even like to make so many subsections that in the end a genre name like "intelligent dark minimal-psychedelic scando trance progressive" comes out ... because that would be a precise description that only applies to very few selected artists and you don't have a mass of artists that might make the same style with your rough definition, but not with mine ... so it would make finding similar artists much easier!
