  1. I'd say it's more than 25000 tracks... ... Indeed, it IS MORE! lookie: considering that some tracks are double released and such ... I'd still say it's about 40000... And Psydb does not have all psy releases in this world (still, a huge part of them, but not 100%), mind that!
  2. Mh, dude, yeah, new S-Range is kinda fullon, that's right ... but it still has got these characteristic spacy sounds and atmosphere to it which I love S-Range for - even despite it has gotten a fullonish feel. And I'd say many of the soundscapes it contains are somewhat more intelligently arranged than the average fullon stuff. Many playful changes and such. It's just the best in this special sound direction out there that I can get - and none of the fullon out there comes close to it. And it's all not made to be taken that seriously anyway
  3. oh hum, well, guess you can't do anything about it when you don't like that style... I confess I too miss the old Feuerhake sound a bit, it was very original and tribal ... but I still like this new piece very much because it brings some freshness into this full-on loaded pool of awfulness that is called psy today Clubby-progressive all the way!
  4. huh? do you mean this as the german word or are you just referencing to that track with the same name? and why?
  5. Did you know? I just stumbled across it FEUERHAKE (Remember Feuerhake? Excess All Areas anyone?) will come back! A new album is scheduled for release on 3rd June this year Now, the question everybody might have: HAS HE TURNED FULLON? Well, no. In fact, he hates Fullon. That's for sure because he told me that after I saw him live on this new year's eve. But he didn't stay the same either - the sound has changed. Only in what way? Well, the new album will come out on Synergetic Records! Insiders can therefore already guess for the sound: it's clubby-progressive! Indeed, clubby-progressive was also his set that I got to enjoy on new year's eve. But I love clubby-progressive. I think this will be my new favourite genre of psy lately. I also enjoyed (and still enjoy) Sonic Cube's Filter big time... The sound? Here it is - prelistening of all full tracks possible: http://www.suntribe.at/synergetic/syncd15/info.html OPINIONS?
  6. oh crap Electric Universe will come here in autumn... but if their recent stuff is fullon I dunno wheter I'll be at that gig or not. anyway... My favourite oldschool artists are: Dimension 5 Ra Astral Projection Man With No Name Koxbox
  7. I once listened to 99% trance music. DJ Tiesto and his companions. Was pretty fanatic back then as well and damned every other music genre to hell without even knowing it. Luckily one day I got the bigger picture Now I hate trance for it reminds me of that phase back then
  8. first and second ones are very nice and the last one looks interesting
  9. wow, that's quite an interesting variety! 15% classical? cool
  10. Interesting Some people say 70% psy ... man, that's quite a lot...
  11. I'd just like to know, I'm curious. Name what musical genres (roughly, no subgenres) you listen to and especially their percentage of the total amount of music that you put into your player! Me: Psy : 45% Ambient/Chill : 25% Metal: 15% Dark Ambient: 10% Misc/rest: 5%
  12. that's exactly what I meant Make them really stoned and then put on ambient stuff! They'll dig it! that's true, I have yet to meet somebody who does not at least partly like it ... but Thievery Corporation is not psy
  13. What I can play to my non-psy friends: Chicane (everything) Chilling Matenda - Lucky Smile Makyo - Soar Angelic Puff Dragon - Sazanami You know what's funny? As I was in Amsterdam with friends I bought Aes Dana - Memory Shell & Solar Fields - Leaving Home ... and I put in those albums as we were all completely stoned on one evening - AND THEY FOUND IT AMAZING! BOTH ALBUMS! The music that they normally utterly hate was pure bliss to them! It was the right stuff, all of their music would just have made us feel bad (you know, that was really strong stuff ... some good pie and some good weed and some good shit ... uuuh yeah ... I thought I was dead again, but at least they enjoyed it )...
  14. Yes, they do deserve respect for the things they have done. I totally agree. But just because somebody has done good things in the past it doesn't mean that it will continue like that. And when the output they produce now isn't worth anything I don't see any reason to still support them! What benefit do all their good tunes in the past have when I see them performing only shit when I go see them live now? Yes, respect to the past, absolutely, but when the artist has detached himself from the own past and is producing crap now I don't see why I still should give him any respect. It's quasi a different artist. They should have changed their name, then people wouldn't bitch. But of course Astral Projection was already famous, so they continued with that name ... just as IM.
  15. No! I would never pay money for interviews. Never. And neither do I want to foster this in any remotely possible way. Charging money for interviews, that's something this scene really does not need IMO! If we reached that point it won't be far until "pay twenty Euros and I sign your CD"...
  16. Dude, the new psytrance is supposed to sound different to the oldschool stuff. And it's good IMO. Very good. I am not talking about fullon, I hate fullon, but the prog stuff coming out nowadays is very cool shite. Old School is retro to me - it invokes somewhat similar feelings in me that you describe ... but in today's music I don't even want to hear that anymore! It's GONE. It's PAST. It belongs into the past - and not into the present. Nowadays there's something different. And it's good like that, because when I listen to oldschool nowadays I get reminded of the past and that it was good. That is the essential point for me

    Summer

Absolutely Feuerhake and Klangstrahler Projekt ... it can't get more summer for me than that Matenda is also somewhat summerish to me in general. I mean, there are some tracks which are an exception, but overall it's rather summer stuff - no matter if it's his chill music or the more psy material. Maybe this is the case because I always used to listen to that stuff on nice summer evenings... Atmos too ... this stuff I don't listen much to in winter. Many tunes from Headcleaner remind me of running through the park in summer Also Etnoscope is rather summerish to me. But I listen to that in winter too. And hehe ... Ticon - The Cozy Cactus, that piece also reminds me of summer evenings... Oh and BTW, Son Kite - Colours is ideal spring music for me
  19. hahahahahaha, of course not you, my dear I meant that you should post that "Thread closed, user banned" line on the forum where this ridiculous piece of crap was posted You don't seem to be very familiar with psynews offtopic habits?

    Penta Help!

Absolutely. 10am is not a real problem. Two Espresso and you're up. I did that as I went to see Magnetrixx & Morganixx on a Sunday night. Monday I had school at 8:45 ... well, I came there at ten (come on, I don't wanna get up at half past seven, I was so deaf anyway that I didn't hear the alarm). Just the time you have to be there too. No problem at all. I guess if I were you I'd have gone there and on the next day I'd have showed all my colleagues the finger ... like "ha, ha, I was there and you not, you boring wet sandbag"
  21. Hahahahahahahahahahaha Oh man ... gimme a break ... lol, this is so stupid. Wayne is a mass murderer .. I pray every day that this murdering Ku Klux Klansman is in jail for life for mass murder and worldwide contravening of anti-terrorism .. I'm a good girl .. I'm not a dilettante like all y'all .. murder at trance gatherings is BLASPHEMY .. See, she even knows that Wayne is the murderer! Even though she hasn't even been to the festival! She must have supernatural powers... Wherever you saw that thing, Goannes ... "Thread closed, user banned", please Hey, it wouldn't even be tha bad if the government would shut down that "killer music". Finally, the end of fullon! That would be even cool!
  22. and I want a Radi604 one
  23. "sonic structures" ... well, kinda like that... You know, the structure that I can find in programmed tracks is something I can not find in Ozric songs and that's putting me into an irregular, nervous state ... in a way. And I don't quite like that...
  24. Maybe that is the reason why I don't like them. Honestly, I once downloaded a few of their tracks because I heard people talking about how great they are and such ... I didn't like the stuff. It appears too irregular for me, you know. Freestyleish and floating and irregular. No "programmed boom boom patterns". And I guess that's what I'm missing. I need the programmed stuff, it's more structured and it's not irregular. I need structure.
  25. indeed ... I guess they thought of making Psychedelic Chill a series like Goa Head, but obviously the sales of the first volume weren't good enough so they let it be ... which is a pity, because that compilation was really great
