  1. When society has failed you and/or you are not allowed to participate in society in any meaningful way, it's easy to succumb to the allure of idealism. Hippies, in many ways, shapes and forms are idealists who believe in what they know is right but are often not given the opportunity to act on those beliefs. As such, they can feel extremely alienated and tend to fall in love with the aesthetic of being a hippie because that is the easiest thing to do. They seek like minded people as most do, but there is no manifestation of their ideals so as a group they tend to not produce much of substance. Hippies don't really exist in the world, but rather there are various degrees of these principles. Juggalos, hipsters, various internet groups, all producing a whole lot of nothing despite their ideals of the world around them. In the worst case, they are targeted and co-opted by business interests.
  2. This may just be for Scandinasia. And the original for comparison.
  3. First ones that came to mind would be Voyager II, Approaching Nibiru, Indian Attic Remix. I have not heard much from Echoes From The Void but it sounds like there are some good tracks on there.
  4. RA: I am RA. One cannot become a 4th density spirit/body complex, dedicating yourself to the path of others, without understanding the law of one. As a 6th density being, it will require 5 more of your calendar years before understanding can be reached. Your vibrations as a spirit/body complex will slowly take the form of green light while earth goes through the harvesting period. Only those who have prepared themselves will be able to ascend to become closer to the Creator. I am RA.
  5. Dark, twisted, acid goa can also be melodic. If there is one thing I'd hope artists start experimenting with it's song structure. I am getting a little tired of artists who don't seem to establish movements, progression, narrative, surprises, twists, the kinds of things that make you want to keep listening because you never know what to expect, but you can listen knowing it will all go somewhere in its 8 minutes or whatever.
  6. Is that a remix of Operation Side I hear?
  7. It's albums like this that make me love this community so much. I have not taken the time to figure out the artists yet, but I don't even want to at this point. I would prefer to think this thing was just sort of discovered one day and if it was created out of design, then I have nothing but the greatest appreciation for everyone who made it happen. That includes, the artists who created the tracks (probably with a preconceived idea in mind), Richpa who planted the seeds, Basilisk who had to make the exception for it on ektoplazm, and the listeners who cared and still do care. The World Beyond is a wonderful thing of beauty that I have a hard time describing. Thank you. So uh yea, the review... Go listen to it. Now.
  8. Time to break out my little orphan annie secret decoder ring to figure out the secret artist names.
  9. Yes I like dance music. Yes I like making dance music. Yes I like dancing. No I do not like dancing with you people in public. I take pleasure in doing what I want with my body within the privacy and freedom of my room, kind of like masturbating. So don't ask me what kind of music I like because I would rather lie to you than tell you I like dance music and get that deer in head lights stare on your face when I explain I don't go out to the clubs. The cognitive dissonance expands from your head like smoke filling the room and I suffocate. Sincerely, Just some guy
  10. Cydonia - Narco Nympho Edit: I just heard this song for the first time today and I've probably listened to it at least a dozen times already. Like this is it right here, I'm obsessed. This is the song I've been waiting to hear for so long. This is the aesthetic, rhythm, mood, songwriting that I have always wanted to achieve.
  11. Before you read the rest of this post I first need to explain some of the context for it. I don't know if anyone here is familiar with Redlettermedia and all of their videos. You may have seen the review they did of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Anyway one of the guys, Jay Bauman, started his own Daily Vlog. Here is the first one he put up. It's immediately obvious that the Vlog looks like a joke right? Well every day he continued to put up a new video sometimes with little things changing here and there. I was so fascinated by it that I was inspired to do something similar of my own, a daily podcast where I would try to express my understanding of Jay's Vlog. I came to the conclusion that the only expression which made sense to me would be a short piece of ambient noise. And so it became a thing where every day I would watch Jay's Vlog and then post a response to it on my Podcast. I am sharing this with everyone here because I feel there are a lot of you who would understand it and appreciate it. Everything here is completely free and can be downloaded to do with as you please.
  12. Salsa is hugely trance-inducing for me. If only salsa would do more interesting things with effects like a certain someone I mention a lot around here.
  13. Cool! Glad to know Emmanuel is still working with Suntrip for releases. I expect great things from the Night Hex project.
  14. Oh no! That is the DNA helix on the hand. Is Richpa now a conspiracy theorist who believes in the ancient aliens manipulating human DNA alternate history black sun reptilians nuclear eugenics planet explosion causing the great flood theory believer? Or maybe he is just trying to explain why the guy has antlers on his head.
  15. A lot of Dimension 5 - Transdimensional is at or near 150 BPM. 151 BPM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utpXZd_A7xY
  16. I have had a hard time getting into Filteria over the years, mostly because of production/aesthetic preferences. However, Lost in the Wild just hits me in all the right ways. The melodies are all mostly the same, but maybe it's the stuff going on in the background felt more haphazard in earlier albums? Where as on Lost in the Wild everything feels so meticulously perfected and overt. Not as much wading through high pitched non-harmonic tones.
  17. Maybe a little, but I feel the melodies here have a bit more direction and structure than your average Filteria melodic phrase. And the kicks here are nothing like Filteria's. they are fatter, more decay, heavier, less click.
  18. I would have to say Artha - Influencing Dreams. I really really enjoyed Fluori Dolby. It had great song writing, structure, and groove. And then the full album came out and it was like all those delicious melodies, imaginative sounds, explorations just vanished. The flow was gone, to my ears anyways.
  19. Thank you for this post Richpa. However, I think it's maybe not fair to make comparisons for so many reasons. Let me list those first and then give my interpretation of these masterings. So the first thing is that, as I have learned, the mix is 90% of the final sound. Goa Overdose 2 was released in 2011 and who knows how old the track is. The point being that Celestial Intelligence has probably changed their production a lot over the years. This could account for an overall change in sound. Second, each one of these tracks were asked to fit the overall sound of the albums they appeared on, a product of many artists and many styles. Third, there is of course what the label wants of the music they release. So then I think the best comparison here would be to look at these tracks from the perspective of how each masterer generally approached Celestial Intelligence's sound. Which final product fits the artists' intentions the most? My answer in general would have to be Tim Shuldt with Deimos not far behind. I cut Trogdor the Burninator some slack because he has had to master some pretty shitty mixes on tracks from "artists" who practically don't know what they are doing, who may or may not post on these forums, and may or may not be posting in this very thread at this very moment.
