  1. I think his "trance side" is better at being trance than his "goa trance" is at being goa. I often get bored with the euro trance formula, but still, I listened to his Dream Master EP earlier and was reminded of how much I enjoy it! I'm about to listen to his other EPs.
  2. Yes. Oh and "cheese" should be in quotes...
  3. We are also visual creatures and our visual attention to digital files on a computer does not always hold the same weight as the very real, physical separation of CDs, each with their identifying covers; the experience of opening it up, putting it in the CD tray and hitting play providing a more tangible memory. I find myself sometimes just pulling out a random suntrip release from my shelf and playing it which I would never have done if I was just glancing through the file list on my computer. Anyway, Aurora Sidera is a wonderful release! As is what seems to be more often the case than not recently, Suntrip continues to put more variety into their compilations. Aurora Sidera has heavier, more intense, twisted tracks, along side beautifully light, euphoric tracks. Nothing on here feels like it doesn't belong though. Each track has an energy that surely resonates with the dancers. Every track has great depth and plenty of wonderful ideas. Nice release!
  4. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I really love what Elad has done over the years!
  5. Hey K-Ban, I hope your set this year was not a last minute submission like last year.
  6. Some classical music that's touching my soul right now...
  7. Those oddball chords scattered throughout are soooo cool. This is amazing.
  8. Wow, I had no idea something like this really existed! The production is just wonderful, very lively yet just enough extra touches. And uhhh.... yea the flute is the instrument of the gods.
  9. Wow! It's always a little funny reading people try to describe goa/psy trance when they are, for the most part, unfamiliar with it. I like this bit.
  10. This is so wholly unfair. The harmonic layerings of Aramean Dreams are some of the best I have ever heard in Goa Trance. Seriously, the track is one of a kind and while it feels short in length at times, it is nothing less than genius in ways I did not think were possible in this genre. The track is so deceptively clever and enigmatic.
  11. You don't have to convince me that the Celestial Intelligence track is good. I've been listening to their album a LOT lately and it continues to put a smile on my face.
  12. Try looking up into the night sky on a clear night with no other object in your field of vision except the vast expanse of the stars. You really do lose the entire sense of distance. The stars can either be right in front of your eyes or trillions of light years away. There is no knowing which. That in itself is awe inspiring and vertigo can sometimes set in if you are standing up. I know exactly what you are saying Mr Mustafa.
  13. Do you not recognize the difference between practical effects and CGI? This movie is like the exact opposite of Transformers. There is some very real, very awesome vehicular carnage going on in this movie. And it's amazing! Transformers is basically an animated movie. The action in Mad Max Fury Road is logically edited and can be followed from one thing to the next. I was so engaged in just being able to understand where the characters were, what the given situations were, what their goals were, how they were going to accomplish those goals, etc. The shot variety, the visual information, the stakes involved, all just engaged me in ways Transformers could only dream of.
  14. God damn that Mindsphere track is.... But really everything so far from this compilation sounds so good!
  15. Warning: Video contains boobs not suitable for work which leads me to ask why you would be on psynews at work in the first place but whatever. The soundtrack is even better on the final print that was transferred over for the DVD where the song wanders in and out of tune. The whole soundtrack to Beyond The Black Rainbow. This gets me so pumped every time. Edit: Too many edits, too many movies coming to mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68I3j2luW64
  16. I think this is probably not the kind of stuff you are looking for but is definitely on the fringe in terms of rock as a means for loose, sprawling, electronic/psychedelic explorations. I would call it post-rock despite not having the most obvious post-rock aesthetic. Edit: That album is one long song by the way with a few distinct "movements" in it.
  17. Also saw this movie. I enjoyed it, but the way it treated the material felt a little too "real" if that makes sense. It raised a lot of questions which is a good thing, but the experience of the movie was a bit tough to get through. Being someone who is quite aware of transhumanism as a concept, this movie produced a lot of anxiety for me.
  18. Guys, the leaves are back, the flowers are blooming, I can smell life in the air again! So here's the summer appreciation thread!! Share stuff about summer, your plans, what you enjoy doing, why you enjoy doing it...
  19. And I myself am 26, born in 1989. I first listened to the old stuff back when I was 16 (so around 2005 when goa trance was practically dead), but I love and respect ALL goa trance these days.
  20. I think the more I listen to this album the more I understand it. Perpetual Energy is still hard to listen to from start to finish because every song is so intense, it's tiring. But overall, wow I am really really impressed. This is clearly the best stuff from this project and anyone who likes fast paced, intense, melodic goa trance should definitely listen to this. My personal favorites are Into the Depths of Illusion, Divine Miracles, Celestial Beings, Perpetual Energy.
