Nice bittersweet humour. I'm with you on that.

Plastikman, Crystal Method and Underworld aren't so influencial I think... I believe Kraftwerk is a safe bet for No 1. AS for others, I don't know. I have self been influenced mostly by Depeche Mode from the really old ones. I guess That band who made the Blue Monday track (New Order?) could also be named, cause it is supposed to be the 1st techno track. Herbie Hancock could be named and.... umm.. This is ofcource getting messy again ... Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Orb, Orbital arecorrect I think... Also maybe Goldie and Photek for jungle from the newer ones.. I don't know the subject very well tho

I guess the thread is about what groups influenced most people. Ofcource it cannot be said in certain, but it gives some semi-accurate overview. -

Pleiadians - Alcyone -
pure dance set (full-on ) Starting 'harder' and going 'smoother' opposed to what most sets do. Infernal Machine - Loin King (MWNN Remix) The Misted Muppet - Amsterdam GMS - Star War Astrix - Visions* The Misted Muppet - Toward the Castle Rastaliens - Metamorphosis Electirc Universe - The Prayer Talpa - People Are Animals Astral Projection - Aurora Borealis (Deedrah Remix) Deedrah - Liquid Skies (GMS Rmx) Sub6 & Pixel - One Shot Younger Brother - Even Dwarves Start Small Audio Chemists - Long Long Arms _____________________________________________________________ __ ________________ * I regret to include an Astrix track in the set, but I actually dig that one and it would probably fit the theme.

I'm now convinced that I have another version of the track (to eternity)

I don't like the cover much , but it's defenately very good music for danceing. Nice groove...

E is very emotional track indeed.

Jep. IFO is a definite classic. So classic that its not even worth pointing that out, everyone knows that anyway I think 1997 was the greatest year in psychedelic music, just because of IFO and The Lone Deranger...

Entheogenic is great. They do not sound like Shpongle exactly, but they do sound like Phutureprimitive (or pp sounds like them )
-
Could you point out the exact time when this melody accurs? I cannot find any superior final melodies in To Eternity

How many smilies are enough for irony?

I think only 1 track has ever made my cry... It was Depeche Mode - Halo. It was some 8 years ago tho

And only 2 as Aes Dana, or am I wrong?

I disagree with the statement that they ripped off other artists just because there are no other artists that have their style. And the Classical Mushroom album WAS in a way pioneering, because it had a new style that influenced many 'newschool' artists (wether it is a good thing or bad thing is a matter of taste ofcourse). About over-hyped: if many people like a band, does it make it over hyped? It seems more logical that it just makes the band popular. Popular and over hyped are NOT the same thing at all. About copying: MFG is a much more direct copy of Astral Projection than IM is of anything. Not that it is a bad thing, I like some MFG stuff even more than I do Astral Projection. About people starting listening psy with them: You are right about them not being the founders of any specific subgenre (tho thy did have their unique sound in the first albums) , but many younger people have started listening psy after cheking them out just for the fact that before 1999/2000 they were too young to delve into non-mainstream music. I myself started listening to psy with both IM and Astral Projection. The fact that they sound boring to you and doesn't to other people doesn't make your flaming justified. PS I know that they have lost their quality to the psychedelic scene nowadays, but that doesn't really matter at the moment.
