Well than it seems to me that thoose artists are doing alright when it comes to promotion. We're in 2016, social media and DIY approach bloomed in recent years and I agree it doesn't always bring to table the best art, but for sure it makes things much easier and smooth. For example, nowdays you don't have to be a part of some label to release good music, there are crowdfunding campaings, social media exposure, easier communication chanells so, instead of paying a lot of money to be promoted, artists tend to have full control when it comes to their music and promotion. I disagree on the part when it comes to international bookings. If someone released something for free and in digital format and after some time he got booked for an international gig, that only means that his music is acessible and good enough for party organizer, denpending on what party organizer and his crowd like/dig. I don't know what artist are you reffering to, since I don't follow the psychedelic.be or other local communities in Belgium. The goal is always to release good stuff I believe. Speaking from my personal point of view, I really enjoy more darker kind of Goa trance music, BUT that doesn't mean we will publish only that kind of releases, as I said, our aim always was to bring some diversity and if possible to discover new artists and names. Having that in mind, I feel proud with 12 hours of music, even no one should like all of it, but I feel that there is something for everyone. I could go with option to have 2 releases per year, but once again, our approach is different and we wouldn't have enough of space to promote new discoveries or give a fair chance to people who (IN OUR OWN HONEST OPINION) deserves a release slot. For me it's simple, if you don't have a need/time to follow our work, you can always focus on labels who are having 1-2 releases per year, I'm fine with that (especially if that is some community-accepted standard for quality music). I don't demand anything and our tactic always was to have a straight forward approach, to keep people involved into our work in best possible way, to share our thoughts, ideas, new updates, involve other creative minds into work of Neogoa. It's not something we demand, it's an optional thing. When it comes to reviews, I told to everyone here who is doing reviews, if you're interested, I will gladly give music for that purpose, no matter how that review will look like, positive or negative. Heck, on our page all reviews are linked with releases (positive and negative ones), and that says something how much tolerance and respect we have towards reviewers and their opinion about our music. Also, saying that we're forcing someone to download our music is ridicilous. Without even posting any updates on our social media, people will notice new music and probably download something from the website. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I never told it's something related to me personally, it's related to my work and what I do. So don't mind if I speak to you from that same perspective. Hey I'm fine if you don't like his work or music, you're not the only one here and it's alright. I don't agree that someones music is destroying the scene, there are worse things on this scene which can be seen as a real cancer. That music is his vision and expression, we liked what we heard and we gave him a release slot, made the artwork and did the promotion. Believe me, if it wasn't released by us, it would be by some other label, maybe Goa Madness or Timewarp. So, saying that we're destroying the scene by offering music for free is harsh. No one if forcing anyone to download or to review something. Speaking about his Facebook promotion, me or Neogoa isn't involved into that. What I did is that I gave honest feedback, advice and tips how to improve Facebook pages to look more professional, to post only important updates, to have great organic reach and to keep people involved into your work and that has been given to all our artists who are active on Facebook, as a friendly gesture. Funny thing, you're so bothered by underground Goa artists and his Facebook promotion, but you don't mind numerous fullon/prog and similar projects with +100k followers and how they promote themselves and their music

New cd's available in the Suntrip webshop :)
Richpa replied to Anoebis's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Hey, I'm still waiting for mine too All CD's from Bandcamp pre-orders have been shipped by Kristijan and emails have been sent. Regarding the private arrangements (yeah I'm looking at you Ankur and Nikola ), we discussed that on Facebook, so don't troll me ^.^ -
Hello Psychedelic Alien, thank you very much for your feedback and input regarding our work and Neogoa music. Since I'm not involved in the work of other mentioned labels here, I feel obligated to give you couple of details when it comes to our work, music and the idea in general. During the last year (2015) we published 11 releases (all of them available for free and legal download). That is ~12 hours of music, in total 77 original tracks. During that same year, Neogoa achieved over 100 000 downloads only on Ektoplazm for our 2015 releases (other releases or websites aren't counted). So, since 12 hours of music is a lot, let's see what kind of generic music we promoted. If you don't mind, I will take a few examples from our releases (since I assume you checked all of them, so it will be easier for you to understand our perspective on music and our criteria): - JaraLuca debut album: intense Goa trance music, with psytrance flavour, very agressive, but melodic enough. Probably the newcomer of 2015, just as Morphic Resonance was in 2014, thanks to generic Neogoa digital releases. - The World Beyond compilation: blend between atmospheric downtempo music and very eearie Goa trance sounds. Yet another generic newschool compilation published for free. - Proxeeus debut album: acidic Goa trance, influenced by oldschool vibe. Not for everyone, but it seems folks in Israel and Japan somehow recognized this digital (and physical) release. - Lunar Dawn debut album: fantasy elements merged with melodic Goa trance, with unique concept. I agree, you can find this kind of music on each corner. I wonder why they're getting so much invitations to play around the Europe. - The Faithealers album: oh, somehow we gave a chance to more raw, oldschool technoid Goa sound with a pinch of cinematic atmosphere made by guys behind UX and Kiwa. It can't get more generic than this. - Jagoa debut EP: chilled Goa sounds with downtempo grooves, this kind of ambient can be found on every corner, especially for free. Other releases that I haven't mentioned includes: Journey Into Sound, GoaTree, Ohm Mind, GoAtma and Sky Technology chillout compilation Sadhana. I understand that we can't have +10 releases per year and to satisfy equaly everyone or to cover all the different tastes. We get that but for Christ sake, saying that we don't have any kind of diversity and putting us in the same basket with other labels who are affraid to give a compilation name that doesn't have GOA word written all over it, or with labels who are making their artwork in MS Paint is a serious crime. As I said, I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree and I'm saying that because I listen and watch what people say or show towards our work. Do you see other label owners offering music for the reviews for free? No. Why am I doing this? Because all critic that we get makes us even stronger and better, it makes us push harder and beyond our own limits. After 6 years we are here, with our little digital label playing on the playground with big boys I am proud on myself, on our music, on our work and especially very proud on all lap top artists and on all 3 800 people on our Facebook page, at least they're real followers. Also, I am an old school goa lover by heart, just like you when I started doing this. If you want to change something, I invite you to invest your time, will, money, talent, communication skills, passion and emotion and to change and improve this generic scene. If you don't prefer dealing with music releasing or being bothered checking each month 20-30 new promos/demos (oh yes, if we do release everything we get, we would have like 300 releases per year), you can get the lap top and start making your own music, it's always interesting to explore new talents and creative minds and since it seems that you got taste for the good stuff, I would be glad to check some of it. Yet another thing, if you want so hardly to compare Neogoa with other labels in the same genre, please pay attention towards few details: - how much music they gave for free and legal download - how much music they promote, release per year - how many new artists they are promoting or discovering (or do they wait us to see how people will like generic digital releases and after they will get them for CD release) per year? Once again, thank you for your input/feedback, I hope you don't mind me sharing my perspective onto certain things regarding this scene/music. I also invite you to post more reviews for our music, I would be happy to give you high quality WAV files if you're interested Cheers!

Hey don't get me wrong here, some of the mentioned movies are really great and I agree they should be praised, but some of them just doesn't stand out, at least not to me. For example, movies such as District 9, Dark City, Source Code, Looper, Moon, Sunshine, Gravity are indeed wonderful films with great direction, interesting plot and story, well written and they got that little sparkle called originality. I don't have any special criteria, it's just matter of taste, but I do prefer when story/idea is the most important/crucial part of the film, when you don't have a need to depend full time on CGI. Movies with interesting character(s), for example Moon or Ex Machina blended into original story that is well directed and got good pace are something that I really like. I love movies with good CGI (for example Jupiter Ascending got wonderful visuals), but that movie was horrible, it's on pair with After Earth in terms of dialogues, plot holes, bad acting, but both got amazing VFX, and if the CGI is the only thing that stands out, than in my case it's a bad movie. To answer your question(s): Out of curiosity, what do you think is a good movie to represent the sci-fi genre? And frankly, how many sci-fi movies do you really expect Hollywood to churn out each year? Besides mentioned films by you and thanosp81, the most recent one that I saw was Ex Machina and I experienced that movie as something really original and in terms of quality well done. It doesn't have to be a big summer-block buster or to be a part of some franchise, it's better when you have some less known crew putting out something fresh, original and unique. How many of thoose movies? The problem here isn't a number, it's more ratio-issue, if we got situation where you need to dig deep into generic CGI crapfest to find good movie, than for me Hollywood isn't doing enough. I really like sci-fi genre and I might sound a little bit picky, but same thing is with the music nowdays, if we're becoming tolerant towards generic and lazy work of art, than the producers, studios will give us more of that, each year. And truth to be told, it's a rare thing to see studios putting big pile of money into original scripts, it's always easier to go with the established franchise, or some reboot or safe bet such as comic book films. Sometimes it pays off to the studio and audience (Mad Max: Fury Road, Planet Of The Apes reboot, The Dark Knight, Dredd), sometimes it's a stinker (Terminator: Genisys, Total Recall reboot, RoboCop reboot, Green Lantern, etc.).

Nah, from my humble sport perspective I still think that we're only strong in handball (and some other sports such as waterpolo and certain athletic disciplines), oh and football is the most popular sport, even regional clubs aren't on pair with our national team. Finns are more into Hockey and racing sports afaik. In recent years Medveščak is the only club that got some skills, playing in Kontinental Hockey League (2nd biggest in the world), but it's more Canadian team than Croatian lol.

I haven't checked this release yet in full lenght but I do agree when you say that Nova Fractal is underrated. I mean, he doesn't put a lot of music out, especially not like other artist tend to do, but for my personal taste, most of the music that he is releasing is really worthy of attention (especially if you dig more melodic Goa). His remix for OXI's Haphazard Dance is destroyer and I hope he will have more time to work on full lenght release sometime in the future, the dude published his work on every known/established Goa trance label working nowdays, so it says something about the quality of his music, right?

I talked with Kris about having this one pressed in limited number on digipak and I hope we will be able to make it happen, just for the sake of die-hard collectors, but I won't give any promises since the release isn't done yet and there is a lot of work ahead, but at this moment I'm very pleased and excited how it's shaping, since early previews sounds refreshing and well-produced. Usually when you recieve some unmastered demo track you're already discussing the mastering and sound, in this case unmastered previews had superb sound-quality and top-notch mix. I'm also aware that many Goa trance fans avoid digital releases and don't pay attention towards that netlabel scene, (it's one of the reasons why some Neogoa releases went under the radar, even the music was on pair with a lot of stuff nowdays that ends up on physical media, in terms of quality), but hey, it's a matter of taste and if they decide to change their mind, our music will wait for them and it will be free for download. For me personally (and for other people involved into Neogoa project), the positive thing is to see that veteran artist such as Kris recognized all the efforts and hard work that we're putting into this project and whole Goa trance liberation idea as something everyone can relate to and become a part of it at some point. Giving your your art and work for free is a nobel gesture and you don't see nowdays a lot of established or 'big' names who are going into that direction. Sometimes the biggest stars are thoose fans who made artists big and many people in the world actually can't afford to give for example 10 bucks to purchase their favorite music in WAV, so seeing artist showing his appriciation in that way for me is one of the reasons why I'm doing this for 6 years now (and most of that time, I've been an unemployed, so I can relate to thoose people and understand thier situation very well). Thank you all for being interested into this release and for nice feedback regarding the artwork

Thanks to DAT Mafia boys for sending me a copy and a sticker. It was fun working on the front visuals once again for this benefit project. I haven't listened compilation yet but according to the early reviews and tracklist itself it looks like a real goodie. Good luck with the project and I hope many people will support this! Cheers

I like the idea of this TV show, it was refreshing to me, but even they started great, towards the end of season they lost the grip and watered down the story.... and baaam, at the end we have huge cliff-hanger. I will give a chance to second season too and hopefully they will improve.

Okay, let's break-down this list. Obviously it will be highly subjective, but with some titles listed here I can't agree to be picked for the great representation of sci-fi movie genre. Interstellar - I've seen it twice and honestly I expected a little bit more, especially after the Inception which would fit more into this list, since it's probably the best sci-fi action movie made in last decade, but hey a matter of taste I guess. Groundhog Day with Tom Cruise - A big suprise, even it had lousy marketing and terrible box-office results, it was refreshing, but the best sci-fi in recent years? I'm not sure. Prometheus - I like Alien-universe and to be honest I liked Prometheus as well, even it had major plot-holes, the dark atmosphere and the return to the franchise is something exciting, but honestly it did not fulfill the expectations, at least critics say so, and overall audience wasn't impressed too. District 9 - for sure one of the best, I can't say anything against this one. Elysium - dissapointment. Chappie - Ninja and Yolandi were great, but movie itself can't be considered as one of the best sci-fi films in recent years. Star Trek & Star Wars - Both are based on already established universe(s), we're aiming for originallity here. Guardians of The Galaxy - The best Marvel movie since Iron Man, heck, it was better than The Avangers. But truth to be told, there was too much action (and good comedy) in this one to be considered hard-core sci-fi. Even the story is in space. Based on this criteria, should we consider BatmanVSuperman sci-fi too? I mean, Superman shoots laser beams from his eyes and he's from Krypton. Nowdays 90% of Marvel/DC movies got the shared universe and at some point each of these action block-buster movies will be related to 'out of this world element', but in my book, I can't see thoose films as a sci-fi movies only. But it was great! Looper - Glad you mentioned this one, really well-written and directed film. Deserves to be in this list without any doubt. Predestination - I liked it too, unlike many of films here, this one wasn't a big blockbuster, but more like smaller/indie film, but I enjoyed it a lot. The Martian (dissapointment) - Having a Martian in the list and not having a Gravity is a sin. Sorry. Anyway, I still think that there isnt a lot of great sci-fi movies in recent years and maybe we just don't have the same criteria I'll throw another suggestion just in case someone hasn't seen it yet: Snowpiercer

What music are you listening to right now?
Richpa replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Usually I don't post here, but when I do, well.. it's Dying Fetus (and one of the best albums they ever released). As I stated on my page - Heavy and mad rollercoaster bursting with pure energy and tasty riffs from start to end. Descend Into Depravity is a medicine. -
