Unlike previous installments, this project had a limited time-frame to be completed and due to that I'm really happy how it turned out and it's encouraging to get such lovely support and feedback. However, I would like to throw a question to all of you who had a chance to check this one and the previous Dimensional Gateway compilation (also released this year): Dimensional Gateway 4 (Veil Of The Moon) or Dimensional Gateway 5? Which one you liked more and why? There is 10 months gap between thoose two, but from a perspective of a compiler, I find 4th to be more friendly with darker and acidic themes, while 5th got bigger emphasis on melodic side of Goa trance music. However, three projects are featured on both, so it's kinda fun to follow that storyline too. Anyway, thank you guys for your reviews, opinions and direct support!

Solid 6. There was some really great stuff released in 2017, but overall there wasn't a lot of releases that I enjoyed big time. Truth to be told I couldn't check everything that came out this year, so some recommendations here will help out for sure!

Update from Ektoplazm Facebook page: An update about the "fake tunes" situation described in the previous post: I'm continuing to investigate the label group responsible for ripping tunes and selling them on Beatport under different names but it seems some progress has already been made. Their entire 2017 catalog (including a huge number of tunes ripped from Ektoplazm and other sources) has been removed from Beatport and their Facebook page (Sonik Sound Rec) seems to have been wiped. A label representative appeared in the previous thread to suggest that this was all one big misunderstanding and that an artist had sent them tunes they published without realizing their mistake but I don't buy that for an instant... and now that I take a closer look, that comment was deleted, so I guess they're trying to slink away from the matter. Fishy! Anyway, I hugely appreciate everyone's help in IDing stolen tracks and finding out about this in the first place. I'm only one person and I can't be everywhere all of the time so it's a huge help to receive reports of suspicious and improper usage of Ektoplazm content anytime you see it. The tracks we distribute under Creative Commons licenses are still protected by law and we will take appropriate action against those who violate the terms of those licenses, especially by doing something as heinous as what we've recently seen... but more to the point: why would anyone do this? We're working hard to advance culture in an open way. Most of the artists are approachable if you want to use their music in your web projects, video games, etc. Ripping tunes and selling them under a different name is despicable in any case, but it's particularly low in this case. Label owners and affected artists, please feel welcome to drop me a line by email (via the contact form on the site) as I'd like to organize a letter to the distributors and shops still working with the parent label. I believe this topic might be interesting (especially to labels and artists who are releasing their work on Ektoplazm). I'll just paste the text from Ektoplazm Facebook page (for a discussion, you can join at Facebook). It was recently brought to my attention that several tracks available from Ektoplazm can be found on Beatport (and many other stores) under alternate names. After investigating the label responsible for these releases I'm starting to wonder just how many songs they've ripped off, retitled, and offered for sale without the knowledge of the original artists. They've got what looks to be some original stuff in their back catalogue but most of their 2017 releases (including hundreds of songs) sound quite familiar, and they've definitely taken songs from commercial releases not distributed by Ektoplazm. So, let's play a game, shall we? Step right up and test your psytrance knowledge by rifling through their releases and posting positive track IDs on this thread! This will be of great assistance in mapping the extent of the damage and I'm hoping to reach out to other labels to file a joint complaint with Beatport when the time comes. It's kinda interesting to see CBL releasing music on the same platform/label with bands such as Emperor, SYL or Arcturus. They're in great company indeed.

Here is my input and suggestion. On the dark theme you should change the new/old icons for forums. It's almost impossible to distinct the new and old topics in certain forum. Example in attachment. I also added slightly different version of icon. I hope this suggestion helps. Cheers

Great news and congrats! It feels great to experience and be small part of this initiative. Upgraded version looks and feels superfancy and it's like new space shuttle I hope you guys will be able to get some 'darker' theme/skin for this version for all of us who tend to use it on previous version(s).

I might sound biased when it comes to music and content it self on this album (which I liked and it's one of the reasons why I decided to push it for early autumn release), this album in my humble opinion got amazing sound-quality and production value. We shared it with some DJs earlier and folks who had a chance to play it on bigger soundsystems gave a feedback that it sounds way better than most of 'the usual' stuff that we and other labels release and publish on so-called Goa scene. I believe them, even I personally didn't have the opportunity to check it in thoose conditions yet. However, I also believe they're right and I can say from personal perspective, based on years-long experience and priviledge of working with Lukaš/GoaTree, it's a huge step towards more sharper, spot-on Goa-influenced groove and dance-floor friendly type of sound. I wouldn't like to use word 'commercial', but more rhythm driven and smarter usage of melodies, while keeping the 'darker' or obscure vibe present through the whole recording. Overall, if you're into super-melodic kind of Goa trance, this record isn't for you. If you're into more raw and oldschool type of Goa trance, this record isn't for you either. But, if you're into well-executed, modern blend of melodic aspects of Goa trance and groove-extravaganza fueled with clever storytelling and top notch production, I believe you should give a chance to Black Star Of The Death. It's not super psychedelic, but it's different and it got it's own signature.

NYP is great option and indeed we have people who are following our new music on Bandcamp who tend to support new releases. It's important because it helps us with all production costs for each release. Even it's not enough to cover everything, we still give our best to deliver each year few great releases (and it's always nice to see that some of 'em end up in TOP 10 in annual Psynews poll, in last two years we had two 2nd places and it means a lot to artists and whole team behind Neogoa). I hope GoaTree's new album will have the deserved support when it comes as digital download on September 15th

It is great music indeed and for me personally it fits my taste much better than Filteria (even I like the most stuff that Filteria released so far). In any case, I hope you will release more music in this style in the future!
