Also, try running your DAW as administrator, I've had issues with Albino in windows vista for that reason (won't read the license key therefore no noises coming out of it). Not ideal but works for me.
I'm obviously biased but I listen to goatronika quite frequently; quality music by all the fellows and I think both Imba and Harald did a great job on the choice of the individual tunes and how they fit and flow with one another.
I had the privilege of hearing one of the album tunes just fresh off Colin's lab last weekend and blew my socks off, a rare mixture of genius and awesome. Haven't ever heard any goa so well produced and arranged, period. Can't wait for the album.
A great example of a mostly beatless (around 4 minutes out of over 50) yet groovy and driving album is Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, although it certainly doesn't fit the "ambient" tag.
Perhaps not the quickest guitar player ever, but certainly he has a good hand and brains to come up with awesome and creative.
