If you're a bit on the colder, darker side of Psy, then you should try Chaotic Synthetics. It's pure Sci-Fi. But don't be too soft for that, because on this planet, you will die. Something more difficult to grasp, a mixture between D'n'B, Psy and whatever, one of my favorites: Cybernetika. Sci-Fi You should check out his youtube channel. The guy's madly talented http://www.youtube.com/user/mechanophobia

Oh my...rest in peace. I didn't know him personally or got close, but from what I've read here he seemed to be a good guy.

I think some people who demand artists to play live, i.e. using their hardware, synths, keyboards, percussion and what not, in order to be "authentic" and "really live", forget something important. I mean what do get artists like AP payed for a gig? They're traveling from Israel...what do people think will the transport costs for all the hardware be? Insurance, anyone? Possible damages to the equipment? Storage costs? If you play instruments on stage, what about guest musicians? Who pays for them? It's just not possible in the psytrance scene, I'm pretty sure of that. Just because a few defining acts (Posgod) can afford (and are able) to use their whole equipment in a live concert, they seldom do so and only on special occasions. So people should cut the artists some slack regarding the term "live". I prefer AP press a button than a DJ press a button :-)

Astral projection vs MFG (> 10 years later)
ion1zed replied to Sideffect...'s topic in General Psytrance
Easy. AP wins. But in my book, they would win every poll, regardless of whom they're up against. The old AP stuff is just unbeatable, out of this world. -
Thanks for answering...I was hardcore jetlagged, hadn't really slept for three days because of work and desperately wanted to make the most of the time I had there. So I chose the taxi. I should have asked around here before getting there I suppose. Now I am in Suzuka for a week or so and probably there won't be any parties around here....not that I have the time to party...it's all about work again. But thanks, Procyon. Next year!

DON'T search for the Club.2 if you want to attend a psy party. Because it doesn't exist anymore And IF you still do, start early so that the 4000-somewhat yen to get to Club Street by taxi (from Sakae) are still worth it! Cheers!

I like it very much. Do you have more of it? I'd actually buy stuff like this.

I don't understand what you're getting at...where's the smiley with the three question marks above his head when I need it?! Those are the only two work related pics I have on my cell. You don't believe me that I am working with Macs or what? I don't need to make up stories. And that's just a small part of our equipment. The old XServe 26TB Xsan raid (which had quite a few harddisk failures) is just around the corner in another room and was exchanged for a nice Isilon 60TB 10 Gbe storage.

Nice. That's my impression of most iphone users

I guess you are. Within our mobile production offices and outside broadcast vehicles, we're using several Pro Macbooks, Pro Macs, as well as Lenovo and Dell Laptops and PCs. Yes, the Lenovos and Dells might be ugly, but there's no doubt which devices can bear the hardships of travelling all around the world, being used in different climatic conditions for very long hours, and being used by many different people with different profiles better. The Macbooks are crashing comparatively often, and we've had to change displays and hard drives on them quite often. I'm not saying Apple is worse than Lenovo or Dell per se, it's just that there are (working) environments where you don't get very far with an Apple product. Add the bad warranty and expensive hardware/software upgrade/exchange policy (software upgrades causing VERY big problems with highly customized/specialized software running on MacOS) by Apple and in a company context Apple products are often considered to be a no-go. For everyday users who don't need/want customization/"freedom" they are probably fine, but still, overpriced nonetheless.

Manibus - Hammerfall Pretty good full-on, playing on the DI.fm stream right now. Rather on the dark side, proper stomping tune. Reminds of good Absolum tracks with a slight touch of the better good ones by Shift. -
Nova Fractal - Upcoming tracks (Preview)

Thanks for the upload...will listen to it right away and post some feedback afterwards. /Edit: Wow, the samples sounded very good, as always. Very nice intro! I listened to them while doing some cleanup in my flat, but the last three track samples made me stop what I was doing. The two slower tracks, especially the second one, were absolutely intriguing. I can't wait to hear the complete tracks!- 43 replies

Behind the music - conceptualism in Goa trance
ion1zed replied to Richpa's topic in General Psytrance
Rotwang has already written everything I wanted to write when I read the op Then I got another idea, but echo void already wrote that, too! *listening to Cybernetika - best deep space/sci-fi concept albums out there* -
