  1. What about this compilation? http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/panta-deus I've always liked Sundial Aeon very much, I have to say.
  2. Yes I know, but you intended it to be about your pictures only in the first place.
  3. Honestly, how long do you expect a thread like this to be alive, if people are only supposed to react to your pictures ONLY anyway? Dead in one day.
  4. @Anoebis: Nice pictures...I was amazed by Caroline's hair, too Other than that, really great pictures and they made me want to visit Myanmar at some point in the future, too. But first Bhutan I was in Malaysia once, but only in Kuala Lumpur...liked it, because it was somehow brimming with life. I got to drive around a bit and I've to say that there are way too many areas covered by palm trees for the palm oil industry. But that may have been a problem of the area around KL. @Lemmiwinks: I wanted to go to Ozora last year, had already bought a ticket but in the end couldn't go due to work. How would you rate Ozora, Lost Theory and Freedom against each other? Apart from the music to me the "spirit" matters most...
  5. It's ok for easy listening, but to me it doesn't sound melancholic or dark at all. Pure easy listening music, good for a lounge atmosphere where you just drink the beverage of your choice, hang out and talk to some friends. So the music runs in the background...easily listened to, easily forgotten. Like most music of that kind it lacks depth and any special parts to make it memorable or really stand out. It's not ambient music to me as well...I like Boris' Galaxy project much, much better in that regard.
  6. Good recommendations so far! Many thanks. Psyfactor is not exactly what I'm looking for, but it's quite interesting nonetheless. Btw. the new Dense album on Altar Records is pretty good.
  7. Hello there, I don't know if the topic title fits the kind of music I am looking for, but nevertheless I'll give it a shot. So, I am looking for downtempo tracks, which are more on the somewhat melancholic, mystic, maybe even cold side of downtempo. Probably people have different imaginations or perceptions of music, so I'll just post some tracks that I like very much, and if you could give some recommendations it'd be highly appreciated! Lauge & Baba Gnohm - Nostalgi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBujw-4SXDI Lauge & Baba Gnohm - Frozen Aura http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un9XTxZm3-4 Vladis_Love - Alone at the city http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxZxddTGKjs You get the idea? I've listened to everything ultimae or altar offer. I know Koan, Zymosis, E-Mantra, Harry Hearing and lots of other artists...but please go ahead with your favorites in that vein.
  8. Some good tracks here actually. Glad I was reminded of the Talamasca goodness. One of the longest tracks I know...and one of the best, for sure...18 minutes of psytrance bliss: Psykovsky vs. Deja Vu Project - Only love (we will take) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_vaWSh1_I0
  9. I wonder why you don't have any friends around your place...
  10. I liek AP but Boris is much better because he has very moving tracks. But I think Infected Mushrum is even more complex with very complex meldoies. It does'nt sound old enough and has too many layers which I cant stand. Simon does this better and sounds more old. I was in Austin in Teksas and I really wonder why so less people listen to AP. It's hot in Teksas and people should go to the pool while listening to AP downtempo tracks like Ambience. In the evening no club played real old goa trance, only rock and there was too many people and it was noisy, so I wnt homw. But the roads are smooth and soft in Austin.
  11. Just admit that you were too lazy or too stupid to thoroughly check the site. And you should apologize.
  12. Yes, I thought that the soundtrack added a lot of atmosphere to MW2. Lots of pathos, but still good. Some more oldschool stuff - boss themes only! Thunderforce IV - Evil Destroyer (Mega Drive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYPcte3BlPw One of the best OST of the 16-bit era, imo. Metal Gear Solid - Psycho Mantis (PS1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9Zhml23DqU Spooky stuff and an awesome idea by Konami. Panzer Dragoon 2 - Last Episode: Guardian Dragon (Sega Saturn) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSqh_oUCRIE Such a great theme...makes the battle in the skies feel that more epic!
  13. Jeff. Minter. Llamasoft. I'm pretty surprised that noone mentioned Tempest X3. Whenever someone asks about psychedelic video games, it's the first one I must think of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwLQ-g8FZug When I was young, I invited a girl over to my place, but completely forgot time and space playing this (btw. it's super hardcore...this game will distress you, but if you manage to survive and kill everything in the stages from 90+, it's unbelievably rewarding). So my parents let her into our house and she entered my room and I didn't take notice because I was so in the zone, the window blinds were darkened and I'd turned my stereos volume up. The game's soundtrack was psychedelic and futuristic, but you could exchange it and I played it with the Pulse samplers. Imagine Boris Blenns' portamento playing while the game's awesome "Mega droid" sample sounds or "Eat electric death"...it's just out of this world. Anyways after some minutes of her being unnoticed in my room she said "damn you're crazy!" and I sprang out of my skin, but I could only think "Superzapper recharge!" Check out this hommage, called Typhoon 2001. Trippy stuff! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEBIsr_GIpA Buuuut of course you can always improve on something. So, Jeff Minter, the guy behind Tempest, did a lot of psychedelic stuff. Check out "Space Giraffe" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqMotxIqu3Y Isn't that awesome? Play it on a 50"+ screen and turn up the volume! But...as to everything, there's always a pinnacle. Gridrunner Revolution. This is the pinnacle of psychedelic, futuristic gaming. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bBX5ZfWh4g Jeff. Minter. Llamasoft.
  14. I worked the whole week and weekend until now, did lots of extra hours and now I'm browsing some internet forums and am relaxing, enjoying the super smooth character of this one. Recommended!
  15. Nice thread. Sooo many great songs. I love the Castlevania music as well. I never listened to the Machinarium OST, so that was a nice surprise. I'll start with something old: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMJjqVB9JCM The whole Last Ninja soundtracks, be it 1 or 2 or 3, they are just so fantastic...25 years later, even with all the technology shit available in today's computers, only few soundtracks are on par with those masterpieces. The fact that there were stellar tracks just for the loading screens (!) make those even more unbelievable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7RPY-oiDAQ Probably, Final Fantasy 6 was the best FF ever created. Arguably, it was the most magical of them. But for sure, it had the best score of the series. And that says a lot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdXCsXcs6nA Without the music, the Silent Hill series would have been only half as good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVqDxdYYLAk Probably the best game soundtrack I've heard in recent years, Michael McCanns score to the great Deus Ex: Human Revolution is just something else.
  16. I think they're supposed to make a high pitched sound whenever you're driving over/on them in order to prevent crashes if a driver falls asleep. We've got those in Germany as well. I'd definitely fall asleep while driving on those smooth roads. Not even the sight of a very steep mountain would keep me awake.
  17. Personally I liked Esslingen and Stuttgart. The wine fields are lovely. I did not perceive the region as being especially crowded. The Ruhrgebiet area is pretty crowded and most of the towns aren't that pretty, due to the industrial heritage. Compared to that the region around Esslingen, Reutlingen (Schwäbische Alb) is much more beatiful. What about your disability? What kind of disability is it?
  18. Bavaria's population density is lower than Baden-Württemberg's, but that doesn't make BW a crowded state! Btw. I've visited the area around Stuttgart and especially Esslingen quite a lot, because of a friend who lived there. The same goes for Freiburg. I also travelled Bavaria extensively by bike so don't tell me I don't know the place. To me it seems that it's you who doesn't really get to see many places apart from his own town. Have you ever been to the Bodensee region? Look it up...BW has nearly 40% of its area covered with wood, whereas Bavaria has somewhere around 2% less than BW. Of course Bavaria is a larger state, so the actual area covered with wood is larger, so you might perceive it that way.
  19. Seriously, you're sometimes writing such nonsense, radi, I cannot believe that you actually mean it! Baden-Württemberg is one of the states in Germany with the most wooden areas, probably even more than Bavaria. It is famous among tourists for its great landscapes and beautiful nature! "Freistaat" has absolutely nothing to do with people breathing fresh air or not having to see lots of others at a train station. I won't even begin to explain the meaning of it, but do yourself a favor and look it up.
