  1. Never heard of it before! Have fuuuuuuuuun!
  2. Lost Theory to Ozora is pretty reasonable and cheap, Croatia is near Hungary, you can get a bus or traind easily. I would actually reccomend instead of Lost Theory: S.U.N. festival (also in Hungary) - 22 - 27 July I know you are a melodic/old-school fan and if this year's SUN follows on last year's footsteps, it will be AGAIN my first choice as a festival.
  3. If you search online (youtube) there are various remixes that they play these days: 1200 mics - Shivas' india TIP - Stimuli TIP - Feeling wierd BPC - Overbody Flood BPC - Midian Transwave - Hyperspaced they can add 2 more tracks and make an album simple as that ...
  4. I had tickets for Hawkwind a couple of ears ago but the show was cancelled because of a low presale :(
  5. Psy was big in Greece up until 2005-ish but I think it's loss in popularity mostly has to do with not many young people getting in the scene... At some parties the average age is 30+, we are the same people as a decade ago, it's logical that most people of this age have families and other responsibillities or are simply not the party animals they were in their early 20s. Also the 6 year recession we are in, definetly plays a huge role. But this thread is about electronic music generaly... Although house and electro is now "mainstream" music around here (POP/Disco with English lyrics was never popular in Greece anyway), there aren't all that many club-trance, techno or progressive events. Again, about a decade ago, there were big events every weekend, now it's limited to smaller more specialized venues with a big event taking place every couple of months and again the age of the people in these events is more around ~30 rather than ~20. It seems the younger generations sticks to mainstream greek Pop and anything beyond that has a limited appeal. Edit: Oppie's post was great... A very nice insight that I've never had... I will be the first to admit that I don't feel the whole gathering vibe, I go primarily for the music, I dance and then leave... most of the time I can't be bothered to socialize.
  6. I meant that my concert-going this summer was poor. The Wall was good, especially the sound quality, since it took place in a large stadium there were line arrays hanging around the perimeter so the sound effects (gunshots, explosions...) came from different directions, I turned around twice because I thought something was happening behind me, Pink Floyd's music of course was superb. The best thing was that I got in for free and straight to the expensive frontal area (I have a friend who is a master in sneeking in venues... some of our efforts to get in for free are ridiculous and we are succesfull most of the time). This time we went to the one of the near-by warm-up tracks that we knew had an underground tunnel that leads straight to the olympic stadium, we walked in darkness for about 400 meters... unfortunanetly the door was locked at the end but some windows were open, so we climbed up one, ended up is some kind of trench that gathers rain-water, climbed again, moved a drain cover.. and VOILA we were inside the track!!!! The not-so-good thing was that it was better to be at the center of the stadium, since the wall was huge, one's line-of-view was limited to only a specific part of the wall, missing all the rest of the action taking place. Edit: Now that I think about it, we also got in for free at Heavy-by-the-Sea and Depeche mode, although it wasn't as exciting as Roger Waters, we just jumped over a fence.
  7. This summer I went to: Depeche Mode, Heavy by the sea Festival (Down  , Slayer, Rotting Christ, Napalm Death) and Roger Water's "The Wall". Quite poor actually, but there weren't that many good concerts this summer in Athens. Anthrax played but I'm not a big thrash metal fan and didn't feel like getting cramped in a club with 40C outside and barely any air-con (as it usually happens aound here in the summer). Clutch had a fantastic performance, I regretted not going, it was 50/50 and I decided not to go. Neal Morse feat. Mike Portnoy is on tonight, I didn't get presale tickets and unfortunanetly I have other things planned for tonight I'm going to this concert, mostly because the bassist of Potergeist is a friend of mine: Potergeist, Psycho Choke, Harsh Demise, Stonebringer And I'm also thinking of going to:Spiritual Beggars, Drunk Motherfuckers, Full House Brew Crew, Six For Nine
  8. They were on stage but they weren't playing, the track before was just something playing while the crew rearranged the monitor speakers and the desk. it also makes sense since you said it was a generic track. Sorry I'll write something in Greek: Ti mounara itan auti I tsekadorisa me to mauro rantaki k ta maura mallia, efaga htta o trypios, san pornostar tin evlepa.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fO8dFA1hPx8&hd=1 This the track they opened the set with... I actually thought it was very good and the soufis that were projected on the screens really fitted the Middle Eastern melodies..... Radi, we need you expertise, what's this track?
  10. Sorry I'm not familiar with their new tracks. The only other tracks I recognised were Let There Be light, Free Tibet and Overbody flood (although I hadn't heard the remix before) and I think Utopia. Caught myself in the video twice What was the last track of their set? I was too exhausted to pay attention????
  11. Astral played last night in Athens, it was a FANTASTIC party, their 4 last tracks were people can fly, kabalah and mahadeva + one that I don't remember, after mahadeva I collapsed exhausted. Although they are not one of my top preferences, they are true masters in creating mayhem, the whole club went crazy, they definetly lived up to their reputation. I had heard them live once more before in a big festival but this time it was out of this world... a certain psychoactive substance also played its role, but it definetly wasn't because of that, the other acts paled in comparison to them, especially if you consider the fact that one was Liquid Soul. He played a remix of Land of Freedom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXVm54GACGE) but even with this legendary track his set was just very inconsistent and to me, dull. https://www.facebook.com/events/334211823380532/?viewer_id=100001702662844
  12. I'm with you man... Sometimes people ask "when do you think you'll stop taking drugs" - I reply "never". Although I don't take mushies and dance,, for me mushies are more of chill-out thing, whenever I've taken mushies at a party everything just pisses me off, the music, the people, the lights, if there's no chill-out room, I usually leave quickly. LSD on the other hand  B). However, I will partially agree with "got the message so hung up the phone", I think there are can be times in one's life that there's no need or desire for psychedelics. On topic... I'm really curious as to which ones are sober, although I have noticed that most artists have a drink while playing and some smoke a little joint. OTT is a special case, he was once DJing at the chill out room and eating a plate of pasta at the same time, it was hilarious, the pasta drooling from his mouth and him tweaking the knobs  A little bit off-topic: BEWARE of the new breed of tryptamines NBOxx, DOx, AMT, x-AMT. Sometimes ppl sell them as LSD but they are tottaly different and have lead to deaths because of physical symptoms, they can be toxic, unlike LSD or mushies. The DOx series can last up to 30 hours. The easiest way to distinguish them is the bitter metallic taste, if your blotter or liquid is bitter IT'S NOT LSD. They are great substances but need special care.
  13. They were supposed to play in Athens in two weeks but unfortunanetly the event got cancelled... Was looking forward to it. I don't really like the original Karahana, but the Hallucinogen Remix is a great track, I've also played it to a non-psy crowd and they really liked it. I'm actually not very familiar with their music...maybe it's a good chance to look in to them with more detail.
  14. Mai Mai and Brainstrom are phenomema; tracks, but nasty angel is my favourite... It has this dirty sexual feeling to it, that's rare in an elecronic track.. Fiction is also an amazing psyprog album, one of the best of it's kind IMHO. Never hear Ophee.... must check it out.
  15. I saw her with Simon and Benji at the 2010 Haloween Shpongle live in London... She's hot... I remember telling my friends that Simon was with a hot brown haired chick She was dressed in a similar outfit in 2010 as well.
  16. Sorry to budge in... but check this out as well from Freedom: After 6:00 Hallucinogen plays a remix of smoke my dang along--- Very surprising, I've heard Hallucinogen live about ten times and he hasn't played it before! http://www.youtube.com/embed/kkKOBk4oD9M How do you embed?
  17. I think Macrophage is a superb album... The other's I don't really recall...
  18. How did you find Guatemala in terms of safety? I've travelled in India and SE Asia and with the exception of some parts of Bangok and other Super touristy places in Thailand, I felt it to be very safe overall. However, I've always thought that Central and South America would be a different story.
  19. I only spent 2 days in the castle/fortress town of Monemvasia in Southern Greece. It's one of my favourite places ever... I love walking throught it's narrow streets at night under the moonlight... Bars close at 3am, so after that time it's like walking in a ghost town, total calmness. Since I like this place so much, I also want to check Dubrovnik (the famous castle town in Croatia) but I think Monemvasia projects an eery yet calming feeling that's very unique. I stayed home because I had some bureaucratic stuff to do (I have to demolish an old cement staircase in my house, have a balcony bulit in its place and also build a new staircase) but since it's the summer, architects, civil enginneers and the city council are under-working so hardly anything got done in terms of getting the permits ready. I'm so stressed about finishing this fucking project quickly that everything else in my life is stationary, I'm not even in the mood for sex, because of it.
  20. I also heard Darshan live this year (in Athens though) and the first half of his set was ok, but the second was unbearable, I just sat throught in case it got better but it didn't (+ my drink in the club was udalterated, which made for a bad night overall). Glad to find out I wasn't crazy
  21. I'm not ashamed of anything... I'm not ashamed to dance it as well Disco Pop Greek bouzoukia Greek traditional music and many many more
  22. I won't got much into the subject... because I feel lazy... but I've noticed something from parties I've organised and the audience wasn't familiar with Psy/goa: Your average person nowadays is quite familiar with house and club-trance, if you want to play goa for the average person, start by playing some prog house or even some melodic techno, then move to psy prog, then some low bpm goa/psy Just like very nutritious food, goa/psy is not easily digestible, you need to warm people up in order to accept it. As to why some people don't get Psy or Goa, I think to some part is unfamiliarity and the fact that it's a kind of music that needs your attention in order to appreciate it. The same can be said about other styles, like grindcore (Meshuggah for example) or industrial, you have to be focused (at least the first times you hear it) at the music in order to understand what's going on and it's not something easily achievable to the average person going out for a party or a drink, it's not what he's looking for.
  23. That's what I was expecting... anyway.... tells us more stuff about the festival... mostly but not limited to the music!!
