The most wierd thing is that I've been to a lot of parties that you guys have mentioned: Koxbox at Samothraki 2002 (Mars) - Don't rememeber being that special (although back then I hadn't listened that much Goa/Psy) Eat static at Twisted Live (Rino and Snap) - Didn't like it at all (met Snap with the Hawaian shirt, Colin OOOD, Janet and the American dude) GNOTR at Twisted Bday (Rino) - That was great actually, I had to leave at the middle of their set a little after Klunk My personal favourites, actually it seems that the environment and my friends make the event special rather than the music: Hallucinogen (July 2010 Athens) - have heard him maybe 7-8 time but this was very special because I was with a lot of my childhood friends and we actually found a lot of old friends there and had a blast... the sound was very good as well. Prometheus (2008 Athens) - I had spent 3 months of non-stop working day and night and while dancing I realised that Sunday (the day after) was the first time I had a day off in months, so it made the night even more special, I even tore my socks from dancing Reefer Decree (2001 London) - Great night, although I can attribute it to High quality MDMA and charas rather than the music GMS (Samothtaki 2002) - Wicked time with the firefightes watering the dancefloor Ace ventura DJ set (Around 2007 Athens) - Very small intimate party, probably the nicest crowd (tons of girls) I've seen in an Athenian party and lovely music. I had to go help my father harvest olives in the morning but ended up staying until 8 am, someone stole my jacket and I got off the train one stop earlier because I was sleeping, instead of waiting for the next traing I walked through the fields, it was very cold (I didn't have a jacket remember) but Amazingly peaceful with the birds singing and the grass being green and wet ------------- Note: This was one of my soberest nights ever, everything was so nice that I only drank 1.5 drinks all night, not even cigarettes. Other exceptional events - Goasia @ aurora 2009, Filteria @ aurora 2008 I had the chance, but unfortunanetly didn't get to see IM at their best ~2001 and I also wish I saw Prana and Old School transwave live.

Man, at the wardrobe I didn't deny I was from Psynews, in fact I called you by your nick Psytones and then we introduced. Anyway, who cares!!! And thank you for the compliments about the costume, I really like your ears too, I was playing with them at the Juno set because they looked very real. To Draeke - I think at some point we were sitting next to each other at the Chill out room, were you wearing a purple t-shirt that had "Symbiosis" at the back? I thought I recognised you from a photo we had taken together along with Fabien (Mars) at the Twisted birthday party, atlhough you look like you put a bit of weight (in fact I've put much more since 3 years ago), sorry for not speaking to you, it must have been you since I didn't know you were coming. Simon mentioned Michele Adamson when he introduced the band. oooh AA was cancelled, they anounced it on Friday so I'm glad I hadn't bought any tickets because it would have been difficult to get a refund with me being abroad!!! Back to work now --- asdfasdjkhgw4i5y7sdfgiusdfghi fucking hate working here, I'll soon be out of this fucken Bank.

Hi guys!! I'm also back from London. The Shpongle event was truely great, they played 3-4 new tracks (haven't heard the cd yet) along with their older hits. One with vocals was crap, the other was kinda Dark and was great. Michele Adamson was on most of the vocals. The light show, the sound, the stage performances were all great/ 2.5 hours of great music and show. The after party I didn't realy enjoy. I was very tired from shopping with my GF all day and then her menstrual tantrums. My complains with the afterparty have a lot to do with the location and the setup of the stages...... 1) I felt that for such a massice event one could have found a better location, not under the rail tracks inside a parking lot with a lot of mud. 2) The chill out stage was exposed to the weather on one side so it go really cold after some time and the Prog/techno stage was also connected with it so the music was being covered all the time. I spent almost all my time at the Chill out. First Chicago played a nice and groovy set with a lot of twisted's tracks (Shpongle, younger brother and OTT) since Simon Posford and Benji Vaughn were by his side, both escorted by 2 VERY lovely girls (especialy simon), then as I was walking between the stages I heard "Love baby Cheesy" of course it was BANCO DE GAIA, he played some awesome music but it WAS CONSTANTLY BEING OVERCOVERED by the much louder techno stage and as time went on the place got cold and people were leaving (obviously). When Banco de Gaia ended it was 5:00 so I headed to the trance stage for Juno Reactor..... and fuck..... all night the stage was banging loud but then it was very low, I went close to the stage to hear better because at the back you couldn't hear a thing I think a lot has to do with the fact that these were old tracks (i.e magnetic, feel the universe, Nitrogen) so it was difficult to hear all the details. I believe the crowd wasn't really appreciative of the music being played since very few people stayed till the end, although it was much better than was Tristan and whoever was after him played, but I like I said it could be because the sound wasn't good and loud.... And I don't think it was Ben watkins playing.... who was it? I spoke with Psytones at the roundhouse and the afterparty and he was definetly having a great time..............MATE I WAS THE ONE THAT HAD THE HELMET WITHOUT THE MASK...................... in fact a lot of people found it wierd that I wore the helmet without a mask (since I coulnd't see a thing wearing it and it is a proper replica so it's quite heavy) and a few came round saying "We are happy that we can finaly see your face" or " You look so much cuter now Vader". That's it!!!!!!

Hi, today with great joy I discovered that except for the shpongle live on Saturday, on Friday the Amorphous Androgynous are also holding an album launch... I'm flying to London tomorow to spend the week with my GF so on Friday I have another super duper event to go to! If you see Darth Vader goin round then Shpongle live it's goin to be me!

To snap: The live show was via ISDN, meaning they were in London in their studio and we got glimpses of them in between the visuals....... It was realy stunning, the use of video and sound effects, it was just a great show overall and the final track they played I hadn't heard before... Maybe it's ureleased or it's in their 2009 album (since I've only got their old albums).

As I mentioned.... I went to sleep after Aes Dana we had a long drive the day after so we had to get some rest.... Plus I was drinking beers and smoking all afternoon so by nighttime I was quite drunk , I think on the timetable they were booked as Le petit Orbe.... So I was like: "Are they kidding me? Whos is 'Le petit Orbe'", so I went to sleep. As for being crowded, last year it was probably 1/3 of people in attendance so that's why I said crowdiert. I haven't been to a German festival, the only continental festival I've been to was Glade in England, and there the camping was just on grass on the side of a hill, so it was much crowdier and definetly not as nice without trees. I think the organisers should go for less but more quality acts (just like Ozora this year) although I see how they wanted to attract all kinds of crowds: Dark, Prog, Minimal, Full-on, Goa which in a way happened but as a result there wasn't much flow in the music. Simon B played after Highlight tribe acording to Vince (Aes Dana), don't know when that was.... ANyway last year he played a PHENOMENAL set, the guy is a showman, he mixed all kinds of music, house, reggae, dub and he had great connection with the crowd so I really wanted to hear him again.... again pitty DAAAAAAAAAAMN WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORK!! I COULD ENJOY THE FESTIVAL TO ITS FULLEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what I wrote at Isra: I just came back from the festival (as I'm working tomorow) with mixed feelings: Organisation was better, nicer sound system, deco, cleanliness, especially the sound system at the chill stage was GLORIOUS! Still no much shade... The chill stage wasn't ready in time because of a power failure... but these things happened I hardly heard any music that I liked at the main stage Goasia, BPC, MWNN, Fiteria, Protoculture, Tristan and Digicult are the only ones that I listened to and stood out. Wanted to see Lauging Budha but was sleeping. Most nights after midnight I though the music was crap and actually most of the time during the day. At the chill stage the Ultimae crew (CBL, solar fields, aes dana, Huva netowrk, asura etc) ROCKED as usual, Banco De Gaia was FANTASTIC, Shulman was nice as a LIVE band although a track they played sounded a bit like something Remos or Pegy Zena would play, Xerxes was good as well.... Too bad I missed Entheogenic... Can anyone tell me when Simon Baring played because he definetly didn't play when he was scheduled?? WHERE WAS THE ORB? The whole programme was too jammed and there didn't seem to be much flow in the music-style at the main stage. I also feel that the quality of the festival was compromised by the Dark artists at night and the MASS number of Full-on artists. The camping was VERY full so I'm glad that the organisers have made a good profit. A lot of people from the Balcans and the rest from the EU. I just didn't have as much fun as last year, didn't like the music much either and hoped for more, the chill stage saved it in a way. I also felt there wasn't the same warmth and joy as last year... everything seemed kinda dull. I suspect next year (if they decide to repeat it) is going to be even crowdier but I won't be there. I hope all ppl have a fun time Monday and return home safe! Peace out! --------------------------------------- Psynews comments: The chill out was great.... The main stage not so much..... I think a major factor for me not having as much fun was the fact that me and my GF were working on Monday and had to drive a long way on Sunday (in fact we arrived at 3am and I woke up at 7:30 to go to work). I was with the suntrip crew a lot, since we were interested in more or less similar acts.... I see that the orb play after the Ultimae guys, after Aes dana we went to sleep because we had to get a rest, pitty .

I just finisshed my first album and all I can say is: IT'S SUPERB As much I like the previous 2 albums I feel this is much more mature and more well-thought... The previous 2 I thought everything was just too loud, I liked them but this is just AAAAAAAA!!!! I love it!!! I see the Hallucinogen, Pleiadians, Prana and all ther other old-school artists influence all nicely packed and! Haven't been excited about an album like this in years!!!! I think it's much nicer than sky input!

I was at the FSOL live in July.... The supporting acts were crap but FSOL were fantastic! I'll be there for AA... The event hasn't gotten mych publicity here, I've only seen posters and I hope they put a lot of effort in the sound because the place they're holding it in is an sound-man's nightmare... Long building with a metal roof! Anyway, will be there!

Aurora Festival 2009 @ Greece
Trunksan replied to Djuna's topic in International Multi-Day Festivals
A lot of psynewers were last year at aurora but didn't realy manage to meet each other. I called a couple of people during the festival but most were too hangover. I spent some time with Joske and the sutrip crew at the Chill out stage and also danced with them and Ormion during Hallucinogen, Bamboo forest and Filteria sets.... Although mostly Filteria... The camp is very well organised and I reccomend camping on the East side of the camp (to the far left as you enter) after the chill out stage. It was the most shady and calm area of the festival, next to the chill out and not so far away from the main stage. I'm on the process of finalising my holiday plans.... 10-14 August I'll be at the islands of Naxos and Paros, 15-16 I'll be at gay/excstasy/coke/house/trance/celebrity capital of Greece Mykonos for a frantic weekend and 18th I'm driving from Athens to the festival. Keep in touch wih the thread! -

I'll be there... already got my presale tickets... the chill-out stage is pheomenal. Coincidently... Thasos is also on the North very near to the festival. You probably get the boat from Kavala which is maybe 1.5 hours from te festival. If you want any info or if you arrive earliet pm me, I'm taking my holidays on the 10th of August. -
Haven't been listening to any psy this year... mostly because I haven't got any time, I'm working and training so hard that I hardly get any sleep... I'm glad that I have you guys at the end of the year to point the best albums!!! There seems to be a lot of consistency this year(a lot of people choosign simialr ablums)!

I had a great time... I heard most of the music I wanted to, missed some though... The whole line up was full of quality. The campsite was great, there was shade, water and electricity everywhere and the sea was very nice, it really helped the experience... Even the fact that the town was near and there were shops at proximity. I was there with 7-8 other people so we had fun all together... My 3 highlights music-wise: 1)Simon Baring - The guy is an entertainer and has great mixing skills and great music collection 2) Miraculix for joining the party 3) Hallucinogen - It's the 8th time that I see him live and I agree that he has this certain pattern that he follows and has been doing it consistnatly, but he always manages to make the tracks sound so different, up until the last 3 tracks that weren pretty much left untouched, the rest was tottaly edited, with added effects and melodies.... I see Anoebi's point about lack of originality in term of the structure, but it seems that he has put a lot of effort in the set... Other than that: Tikkal,Andromeda,Chromosome were all very good, nice melodic prog had lots of people dancing on friday morning Ott - Very nice set and live, seemed almost as if he was playing my CDs. Aes dana - Great atmosphere, although I feel that he should have played during sunset or sunrise. much too hot and sunny for his slihglty-dark music style Maheanne - nice Oood - Just as it was mentioned, they were supposed to play after the break but ended up playing after the Prog duo that also had a girl in (who was it?) so for some people it was kinda slow.... but very nice combination of different music styles, like dub, reggae, breaks ..... YB - average at best Shpongle - Ok but have heard much better from Simon Filteria - Great as expected Bamboo forest - Much better than I expected, I was listening to it from the beach and it was good... I missed a few others that I wanted to check, but I had to carry my GF (who's not so much into this kind of entertainement and started panicking if I wasn't near her) everywhere so this hindered my ability to move around freely... Only problems for me: Rubbish at the dancefloor, dust and lack of shade at the chill-out........... other that it was a great experience!! C YA NEXT YEAR!

Timetable: http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp82/al...tos/program.jpg I won't be there for the first day.... but not really missing much..... I'll be amongst the OOOD groopies!!

I'm super excited about the fest... it was all we were talking about with my friends: My friends will arrive on the 19th and set-up "the camp", I'm arriving on the night of the 21st! It's the first festival that I'm going to "properly organised", with equipemt (tents, umbrellas, fridge ...) and a large company... most of the time I just arrive with a backpack and nothing else... but now I'm driving (well my GF will be) and we are READY TO PARTY!!! BEWARE OF THE COPS!
-
I've already got my ticketsfor the Pre-sale price (70 euro) and arranged my days of with work, but I'll miss the first day ( )........ I hope it turns out to be good! JOSKEEEEE!!!! My GF wants to meet you, she saw the pics of us from last year in Antwerp and she says that she wants to sit and look at your eyes all day.... So now she'll get the chance!

Well... it's rinkdadink and Alien project the same night.... If I decide to go I know I'll have a good time.... More or less the same apllies for AMD and KOXBOX.... koxbox I've heard twice the past year and it was bad but AMD I want to go.... Anyway.... a lot of partying up ahead!! -
Despite the fact that almost every weekend there's a live or DJ set in Athens... there's haven't been that many interesting events, the only ones I went to were vibrashpere, ultimae records and I missed Dick trevor and OOOD crew because I was Ill. All of a sudden we have within 3 weeks (in order of preference): Jaia Ace ventura Trentmoller Rinkadinnk Amd Aien project Koxbox I'm ill try to go to all these events... I'll probably miss just one because of them occuring the same date!
