  1. they are minimal and repetitive, this is something you come to accept if you appreciate their music.
  2. I find it funny when people talk about how newschool goa has "a few good exceptions" when one could say the same about old goa, although I do admit the ratio has changed. Also claiming there has been no evolution is either an outright lack of sensory perception or a sad misunderstanding of the term. I'd say, there was and still is a bunch of bad and/or average goa, however the difference in technological capabilities of higher processing power and better softwares has resulted in various changes and ushered the evolution of the genre's sound.
  3. you can apply bit crushing distortion (and other distortions such as saturation etc...) and balance the mix between the dry and wet signal to your liking to achieve a veriety of noises for your snare hit.
  4. https://soundcloud.com/djnaudiophil this one right?
  5. It is linking me straight to soundcloud homepage. Fix your links please
  6. I live in Virginia and study in Chicago. I've noticed similar musical trends across the states as you have. I've had trouble introducing people to goa/psy here; and that could be for several reasons. I've managed to have a couple of my closer friends enjoy the music even though it isn't their favorite genre.
  7. I have to say that his music doesn't captivate my attention. Also the sound design and composition are simplistic. My 2 cents
  8. i'm generally a happy dude so 7-8
  9. Ah, Forgot about this one. Close thread indeed
  10. Dead soon on his downtempo mix is just awesome....Never heard anything like it
  11. I say nay. Psycho is a badass track but apart from that its mostly average
  12. does "non album" include VAs and EPs/LPs?
  13. My favorite industrial artist by far. Some of his tracks are so powerful! If you can recommend something similar to this it would be much appreciated . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhAvsVoQXlA
  14. Regardless its a nice change. I like how the kick blends with the reset of the music and works with my Sub very nicely .
  15. Penzoline has a good point. ----^ They are quieter than most goa tracks, however the ratio between the synths and percussion seems intentional. Not all tracks need the kick and high hits ripping through the mix
  16. o my.... Radi what sort of speakers/headphones are you listening on. The mixing is nothing to smirk at... That i'm sure of.
  17. Skarma is secretly AP. It has to be... The zirrex track sounds like a cheep knockoff of dancing galaxy, i hear nothing amazing about it...
  18. I'm yet to hear a really good psy remix of a non psy song.... 1200 mics had some alright stuff but still.
  19. blue planet is amazing however I wouldn't call hemo static his best track i dont know enough normal trance to judge if its the best of its sort
  20. I'm well aware of this musical equipment. Also you can find a synthesizer timeline here : http://www.vintagesynth.com/timeline/
  21. I got into goa with transewave - Flamicogyre and Yahel - Waves of Sound. Some how I doubt you'd mention these as introductory tracks! Taste is subjective and develops in such a way; people get into psy/goa with different preferences. What makes you think you have a universal understanding of psy for beginners? Just because you liked some bands and had a progression of taste doesn't mean other's will match your own. Go ahead make some goa videos. Just make sure they make sense.
  22. New album released! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyZSRleHIkU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11SzQHWlDiE
