Your modular synth of choice?
Panoptes replied to Goa Travellers's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
I recently picked up a Doepfer R2M ribbon controller. It has been a lot of fun to mess with the different quantized and un-quantized modes and mapping cv2(pressure sensitivity)to different parameters. Bellow are two short videos exhibiting my live modular/drum machine setup. https://www.facebook.com/julian.szuscik/videos/10207485356920944/?pnref=story https://www.facebook.com/julian.szuscik/videos/10207488875928917/?pnref=story -

Your modular synth of choice?
Panoptes replied to Goa Travellers's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Looks good man. *Drools* I stopped spending on modules and switched to getting an Analogue Rytm and a Yocto Tr808 clone. In the process of putting the clone together; will post photos soon. I'm probably going to start doing only DIY synth stuff. I want a box with modules i put together myself.... soon -

They do have some awesome stuff just wish they released their new album under a different project alias or something.

Live modular psytrance jams (no computers)

nice i'll give it a shot soon. -
Probably when they started touring the United States?

Um.. What's wrong with "Amithaba"/Felipe?
Panoptes replied to Shpongled247's topic in General Psytrance
I kinda agree w. Balance regarding how arguing w/ mentally ill individuals and dwelling on about this won't improve the situation. Its obvious that wishing death upon Fabien is indefensible and I am curious as to how exactly he developed such a loathing for suntrip, filteria, etc... -
Well they kinda sold out and turned into Electro dub-steppy cheesy shit. Although their production is pretty good they are still trend scum

Most underground psytrance you ever listened to?
Panoptes replied to Manuser's topic in General Psytrance
Chi-A.D.? Atleast when I first stumbled upon it, I didn't see much discussion about him. -

Thanks for the feedback. Tbh I'm still at a stage where I'm refining my sound design and production, also I have trouble going back to old tracks and continuing on in their development. Since I'm in school, my free time is intermittent with school work and other obligations. Once I settle down a little bit in the near future I plan to start making tracks that are 6+ minutes long. https://soundcloud.com/panoptes/final-weeks

http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/product/prophet-6/ http://eu.elektron.se/synths/ This looks really nice. I'm also a fan of elektron stuff. Perhaps checkout their Analog Keys and Analog Four. My current poly synth is a jp8000, I think I'd get a prophet 6 if I ever end up throwing down for a new poly synth.

I'm disappointed in this release as well. I couldn't even listen through it because it was so painfully lifeless. Who thought using the same exact midi files was a good idea in the first place...

Did Goa Classics Remixed give you hope for the new AP album?
Panoptes replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
It gave me some hope, though I don't think they'll ever fully return to their old sound .The remixes were a cool idea (especially the bpc remixes) and the song choice was pretty good. Mugen and CS-Rain was nice. The TIP and BPC remixes were somewhat disappointing(though overbloody flow rmx has grown on me) xdream rain is boring... Also I dont get why so many people hate on Amen. I dont think it's nearly as bad as people make it out to be. that ap track is groovy -
tutorials that actually teach you something?
Panoptes replied to Lemmiwinks's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
I think some of ur fustration stems from the fact that once people get past the rootamentary stages of learning music production there is a lot of trial and error. Once you understand the fundimental concepts you need to extrpolate a greater understanding from the individual elements. Also once individuals begin to achieve worthy outcomes they tend to gravitate towards being more secrative with their creative processes and reliable techniques. My suggestion is to just keep at it and develop your own "voice" so to speak. -
