  1. how does one tune a snare? are you talking about a snare sample or a snare in a digital drum machine that has the option to adjust the "coarse" (pitch) value?
  2. that biased article isn't accurate. some of it is true, still better than the other republicans/obama
  3. bass lines are usually single osc monophonic. there are exceptions. to me that sounds like saw bass
  4. Well I consider crafting certain sounds both technical and artistic. When I explore a track I listen for both artistic and technical choices made by the artist which combine to present a certain effect (an effect which one does not simply stumble upon). I would like to explore some track in detail, which would include both the composition and production behind the sound itself.
  5. This is true. but my questions revolve around the more in-depth aspects of producing wild psy music. I feel like some of these things you can only learn for the artists themselves. You know what I'm getting at??
  6. There are few people who would have all the answers and you didn't come off as cocky or anything I was just curious about your experience . I too am going to school for production but i'm still in my first year. Also my production classes revolve more around studio production with more "acoustic" music rather than the psychedelic madness that we listen too haha. I'm currently swamped with work but once i'm done i'll post some of my questions.
  7. Its great that you are offering such knowledge. I have several questions which I would honestly prefer to discuss this in person with someone who knows what they are doing haha (Pardon me asking Veracohr/ others offering advice here ;I'm new here) but what experience do you have? I'm not familiar with what musical projects you are affiliated with.
  8. So whats so visionary about this? ahhhh just not my cup of tea....
  9. Here is clip from a blog related to goa trance. I found it to be interesting because of the # of American visitors. made me feel good cause I don't come across many americans who have even heard of goa.
  10. Very nice. Hopefully there will be some events in proximity to chicago
  11. I have mixed feelings about this idea partialy due to facebook's "non-causal" user base. I know must of us have facebooks but the question is how often we use the website. I might be assuming incorrectly, but I feel like most goa/psyheads don't lurk facebook all day. Plus this forum is on the verge resembling a ghost town, or ghost forum... what ever you want to call it.
  12. I'm still in my first year of college. I'm studying audio arts and acoustics. specifically production and minoring in composition.
  13. I like "new-school" goa. It evolved for the better in most cases...
  14. Don't kill me for double posting xD. I think i'm going to aim for a high energy mix of sorts. A couple tracks that come to mind are Citrus Circus, Micromega, Navigate, and other such. ( doubt any of these have matching keys or tempo though ) Finding out the keys of some of these tracks will be hard.
  15. i live in i america. i miss out on everything
  16. Well operation of the cdj is essential for a good grade in the class. If I ever feel the urge to make a mix for myself, rather than investing in a dj-ing software/hardware, i'll just pop tracks into cubase and work out all the crossfading and spectral manipulation.
