I never said anything about Derango in this thread.

Heh, I meant that to me there is one person dominating the scene. That might not be enough to make him God in the scene since I suppose there aren't much people agreeing on that he is dominating.

Hey, thats a cool album. Kinda reminds me of Luomuhappo. -
His name is Matthew De Nobrega.

I wonder why it's so too. My friend is a metal fan and he hasn't got nearly as much comps as I do.

Artist: Logic Bomb Date: 02-26-02 By: Mars Q: Hello Johan, Jonaz, and Jonas. Now it's been almost 2 years since your first interview with us. Since that, your Headware album was released and was a success, you also released lots of tracks on EPs and compilations, you played live everywhere in the world, and almost everyone say your music is one the greatest...1) So please tell us what you have in stock to make this stay true ? (name/tracklisting/label/releasedate would be appreciated and would be put in the incoming section) A: The album will be titeled 'Unlimited', which is also one of the tracks on it. It's a 142 bpm joy-ride, which we like really much. Written in the key 'G', it is one out of a few Logic Bomb tracks that blends together very nicely ('The Pawn' and 'Desires' are a few examples that follow the same structure - G, 142) Another track that we are happy with is 'The Neighbour of the Beast'. The rest will be kept undercover until the release =) Relase date is set to the 22nd of march. This date we will also play live at the release-party in London. Q: People are addicted to that psychedelic touch in all your tracks. Will there be significant changes to your style with this album ? A: There will be a few slower ones, a bit like the ones we put on the 'Moovers and Groovers' 1 & 2. We thought for a long time about this, wether to put slow tracks on it or not, and we came to the conclusion that we think people will like some more relaxed music on the album aswell. However, most of them are full on party tracks. Q: Has your equipment and/or the way you're working changed since Headware ? A: Not really, we have sticked to the same concept - the tracks have been produced on an analog mixing table. We've changed some pieces in the studio, but it's mostly smaller components just to make our work more efficient. Q: I've been involved in the Demoscene (http://www.ojuice.net/faq.htm) for years, so the first time i heard you track 'Extension', i immediately recognized the 'CyberRide' track made by Jester for the 'Extension' demo (http://www.niksula.cs.hut.fi/~tive/jester.html). How do you explain that ? A: We're all old amiga freaks, infact, all of us were part of some demo/cracking group back in the days. So naturally this has influenced our lives alot, aswell as the music. The 'Extension' track was put together by Jonaz alone and we all thought it was very nice so we decided to put in on 'Headware'. Q: I saw your planning: you're always out for an act. What did that change in your way of life? How can you find the time to have a family life, to work and to compose ? A: We don't have families, neither do we have lives. We're slaves under the promotors nowdays.. hehe. Nah, in the beginning it was really overwhelming. Obviously, to have the produtions that we created ourselves played for thousands and thousands of people was in the beginning an incredible feeling. It still is, but with time comes a certain distance to what you're doing - we see gigs more of a 'dayjob' these days. Still its fantastic to reach out to so many people, to see so many people smiling and dancing their asses off.. It's a tremendous feeling. Never gets boring! But it can be very very hard work sometimes. Composing and producing is still a holy experience for us. This will never change. When we get to a certain stage of a track, and we look at eachother and just go 'man....this is really really sweet stuff' - nothing beats that. And we testdrive all the tracks in there aswell! Usually we turn off the lights, shut the monitor off so that the place becomes pitch black - and we freak out. Q: When & where was your best party ? And your worst one ? What do you think of the scene at the moment ? A: Wow.. The best parties we ever went to were the ones held in Kilsbergen, just outside Örebro of Sweden.. These parties were held back in the days (93-97) when there were no limits, we we're doing a lot of psychedelics and life was... not even present at the time. No boundaries. The music was all new to us.. You don't see parties like that anymore. The best experience of playing at a party.. is really difficult to say. As I mentioned earlier, with time comes experience and distance. The Boom festival in Portuagal 2000 was amazing. Ofcourse, Jonas was just about to collapse from dehydration, we came there with no supplies, and the promotor stuffed us in a 2 man-tent. The sun was burning hot and we had no food or drinks.. We did have a lot of drugs though.. No but seriously, the gig itself was incredible. Another super-event was the Crystal Skulls Countdown, this newyear in tokyo. 8500 people was there, and the vibes were amazing. The list could be very long, but these are two of our best memories. But then the worst one was also in Japan, this summer at Mt. Fuji - the Solstice summer festival. Just about 8000 people were there, the party was brilliant, lovely people, great atmosphere - everyone was having a real good time - but then when it was time for us to play, after about three tracks, the equipment we used just went dead. Complete Silence. We couldn't fix the problem but had to do an improvised DJ-set instead. But first we were running around the stage like three frightened mice. I still wake up screaming in the middle of the night Anyway, in the end it worked out, but it was just sooooo embaracing! Well we got our revenge this new year, so we're more reliefed now. The psytrance scene at the moment is very much unlike how it was when we first got introduced to it. What really got us hooked was the respect and mysticism around the whole thing. It was all related to drugs in a way, but there was no junkie-attitude. Non-psychedelic substances were banned at the parties. People intoxicated by coke, amfetamine and such were not even welcome, and concidered very lame if they dared to show up. There were a lot of free parties - there still is here in sweden, but not as frequent as about 5 years ago. And the vibes have certainly changed on todays parties. I'd say the scene is maturing in a way. It's great, because we can make a living out of it, plus there's so much extremely nice music coming out which makes it interesting, but a lot of the feeling around it has gone lost. It's going the direction all types of music is going when many people start to like it - mainstream. We try to fill the place that we play at with the vibes that we originally catched back in the days. And the music reflects our vibes. That's why we try to blend old and new sounds in our productions. Some people really appriciate it, some don't like it at all. It's all good to us. Q: And what do you feel when you see people totally freak out to your music ? A: It's incredible. It's such a feeling that sucks you in, and theres nothing to do but to freak yourself. Q: As Tranan is one of you (Jonas), can you tell me how and why this project started and what direction it's aiming at taking ? A: The Tranan-project started out when the "Moody"-track was written. The track was so different from the Logic-style so it was decided that it should go under a different artist-name. Right now there is a Tranan-album scheduled to be released this spring/Summer. There will also be a 12"-relase pretty soon on Spiral Trax. Q: I saw Logic Bomb live a few times and you played there some Tranan tracks. But I guess you are now planning to make it a real standalone project ? (tracklisting would be appreciated....you know) A: Well, there has only been 2 tracks that has been released, "Moody" & Cluedo. We're putting most of our effort in the Logic Bomb project so there is often no time to make the "Tranan-music" As things will calm down with the release of the Logic Bomb album, there will be more time for that. Q: As of today, what are your favourite groups and tracks ? A: The all-time favourites has not changed, and never will; Orichalcum - the man behind the productions from this group did revolutionary things in his studio for the time being. He has given us a lot of inspiration. And the tracks were brilliantly structured and captured a vibe of something that still today no other artist has been able to be re-create. X-Dream - for setting a new standard in soundproduction in the genre. Just remember 'Panic in Paradise', 'The Second Room' & 'We Create Our Own Happiness'. Top-Notch quality and extremely nice tunes. KoxBox - Ian & Frank did some fabolous tracks back in the days, and are still making very very nice music. They have helped us a LOT during this time, and we have them to thank for many things. HuxFlux - Dennis introduced us to the techniques of sound-engineering, and if it wasn't for him we would not be were we are today. God bless this incredible talanted man. Q: Do you still happen to work with Dennis (Hux Flux) from time to time ? A: Dennis & Henrik has been very tied up for a while with their fortcomming Album. Both Dennis/Henrik and we are also travelling a lot which makes it a bit hard to find the time. But he called us up a few days ago, and we aim to team up in his studio in Stockholm in April. Q: Would you like to make tracks with some other artists ? A: Composing is a very sensitive thing, and to work with other artists may be either disaster or enlightenment. If we were to work with other artists, we would try to work with somebody who's not involved with the scene. To do something with Depeche Mode or Massive Attack is our dream. But it seem far-fetched at the time being. We would rather do remixes of other artists tracks than to work with them together in the studio. When it all comes down, that is the way it works best for us. Q: As of today, what is your favourite Logic Bomb track ? A: I think we can agree on that during the time when we produced 'Shadow of the Beast' and the 'Crunch Moles' remix, we were in a good flow, and captured nice soundscapes. We are very pleased with our new productions of course, but its hard to choose favourites from these ones as they are all so new. Q: What do you think of the MP3 revolution, and what do you think of people trading them without buying the stuff ? A: Well, that people change music over the net doesn't affect us too much. We all do aswell. But if there's some track we like then we don't settle for an MP3, as the dynamics in the files are worthless - even on 256kb/s bitrate. Then we try to find the original recording instead. What is VERY frustrating to see though, is liveset-recordings being done without our permission - and then being spread over the net. We once played in Mexico for an organization called 'Amanit Forest' - and these guys made a DAT-copy of it - spreaded it and traded other´s music for it. Thats such an incredible stupid and unprofessional thing to do. These guys will have a hard time to get other acts booked for their parties in the future, that's one thing that's for sure. Thanks very much and we wish you good luck for the future ! Thanks, and thank you for maintaining what could be the best forum & review page on the net. Keep it up. Sincerely, Johan & Jonas, Logic Bomb

Artist: Logic Bomb Date: 06-16-00 By: Anoebis Q: Hi Logic Bomb and thanks for doing the interview!! First question... How, Why & When did you start with producing music? A: Well, we've been making music for as long as we can remember. We first started making music on our homecomputers (Amiga) with trackers (NoiseTracker, Fasttracker etc). In the begining (late 80ies) the music was more of electronic demo music. In 1996 we first visited a trance event in Örebro/Sweden and we got hooked by it all. We started experimenting with our computers but it all took off when we with Dennis Tapper formed "Hux Flux" (around 97/98) and bought alot of studio equipment. Q: Logic Bomb is one of the leading Progressive Psychedelic Trance-groups... Why do you make this music? A: Thanks, We love parties and we try to make the music we want to hear on the dance floor. We listen to alot of different styles of music and we think the psychedelic music is the most interesting one of them all. Q: What do you think of the more melodic (old school) Goa-Trance? A: We think of our music to be kind of melodic, altough we try to make it more experiMental. More of rythmic drumbeats and soundeffects instead of just fluffy/cheesy melodies. We try to combine it all. Q: How do you think that Psychedelic Trance will evoluate in the future? A: More progressive or something, who knows? Q: What are your favorite Goa Group, Album, Top 5 Goa Tracks? A: To mention a few in no particular order: Groups: Orichalcum, Koxbox/Saikopod, GMS, Hallucinogen, X-Dream. Albums: The Great Unknown/Koxbox Tracks: Dawn of Epsilon (Orichalcum), Digital Self (GMS), Friagram(Saikopod),Panic in Paradise(X-Dream), North by North West 6 (BUS) Q: What is your favorite track made by Logic Bomb?? A: Always the latest production. If we must mention one it's either the "Major Problem in Australia" Logic Bomb remix or "Herr Übermann". Q: What do you think of the Goa-scene at the moment? A: Well, definatly not dead as some seems to believe. It's nice to see that even the US seems to have a good scene. Q: Where do you get your inspiration? A: From other music, parties, friends, everything..... Q: What kind of equipment do you use? A: We use alot of equipment. Because of our background as computer-freaks we mainly use our computer with 18-track soundcard to play around with the sounds. We also have a mixingtable and some synths. You can read more about it on our homepage (logicbomb.tripod.com). Q: What are your future projects? Will you release an album soon or do we still have to wait...? A: The debut album will be out on Spiral Trax late June and the title is set to "Headware". We'll probably be making a new remix for Koxbox, but the main focus right now is to compile a kick-ass Live set and make live perfomances around the world.

Label: Kagdila Records Date: 07-21-02 By: Mars Q: How & when did your Kagdila adventure start and where are you based ? A: Kagdila was born on January 05th 2000, i'm located in Los Angeles, California USA Q: How did you choose the name Kagdila? A: You know it is funny how i came to that name, but in the end it's cool, i beileve you know or who ever will read that review of course know the cd "Trust in Trance vol.2" track no.1 of Astral Projection which is called "Mahadeva". If you guys listen realy good you are not going to listen "Mahadeva" but im sure you will hear "Kagdila" this is how i came to the name of my label It is funny. Q: Could you describe us the style of trance you want to favour to be released under your label? Do you favour a particular country in the musical orientation of your label? A: My label will keep going on full on psy-trance and psy-ambient. The far east like very much what i put out in the past, but now with Droidlock all over the world like it very much, i got alot of e-mails from diffrent countries in the world which said go on Kagdila, Droidlock didn't desapoint anybody. Q: Could you give us a general survey of the main artists who currently release stuff under your label? A: Until now i do have 10 releases which they are: 1. Droidlock - High Phonic 2. Frequency Deluxe - which is coming up soon (it is 2 new guys plus Shanti, a member of GMS) 3. Space Buddha - Eternity Project 4. Digital Karma - Hyper Sound 5. Virtual Trance 2 - Digital Alchemy (it is a compilation with artists like : Infected Mushroom, Talamasca, Xerox, BLT, GMS and etc....) 6. Spiritual Moves 3 - Acid Germs (it is a compilation with artists like : Skazi, BLT, Makalin and others) 7. Cosmic evolution (it is a compilation with artists like : Skazi, Delirious and again etc....) 8. Chillum (it is an ambient compilation with artists like : Seb Taylor, Angel Tears, Pier Cloud, Non Fiction and the rest that all we know) 9. Analog Reflections 2 (it is a compilation also with artist like : Skazi, Soma Coma, Delirious) 10. Delirious - Tales From the Unknown (it is the actual album of Delirious) After frequency deluxe are going to come some compilations. I'm working on them now, and also an artist album. Q: How do you see the future & growth of your label? What new records will you release? A: Right now i am a young label but very soon i am seeing my self to be come a realy serious label who will be working with big artists and with big label that will do a share of release together. As i said there is an up-coming release not so far "Frequency Deluxe", and after that a new compilation. Q: What artists would you like to work with? A: It will be nice to work with "Alien Project, Talamasca, Absolum, Dimitri, Deedrah, Total Eclipse, Etnica, Joti Sidhu, Dino Psaras, GMS, and of course with new talents that i can give a chance, so you can contact kagdilarecords@hotmail.com and ask for Shu-ki. Q: Is there another particular label you appreciate a lot for its musical orientation? A: Yep it is TIP, 3D Vision, Out Of Orion, Moon Spirits, Boom Records, SpiritZone, Phonokol, Creamcrop, Acidance, Databass, Twisted, Etnicanet, Avatar and Kagdila Q: Do you organize parties with your label? A: I did one on october 13th 2001 and now i'm planning to do another one on summer 2003 with all Etnicanet crew here in USA. Q: Are you used to DJ in some parties? If so, what kind of stuff do you play in these parties? A: Yep i am a DJ. Well i do love the old goa trance and i'm used to playing alot even when the music change. I'm used to playing old goa sound and people would go nuts, i would play stuff like old Asia 2001, old Etnica , old Boris Blenn and all the israeli melody stuff which take you to another planet. But i changed my style a bit to stuff like GMS, Alien Project, Talamasca, 3d Vision guys, more french style and it is going off also. Q: What do you think about the psy-trance scene globally? How do you think it's evolving? A: Well it is a really small scene that should be grow more. I think there is alot of jealousy. Instead of helping each other people destroy : When a label just starts for example, and there is alot of competion between shops, distributions, even between labels, each one speak bad on each other, i dont think it should be like that at all. It is evolving with the music, it is better than it was, it got better with price for cd's, better parties, got more distribution, shops, labels with good music, but same people same scene. hopefully the people will change, i'm not talking about personal people im talking about all the business in that scene, it should be better. Then it will be better scene. Q: Finally, do have anything else you'd like to say? A: Thanks for all who support kagdila and hopefully kagdila will put nice releases so people can be happy, and i hope i can make all people happy with my service and with my releases, alot of good stuff on the way.

Artist: Jaïa Date: 09-06-00 By: Tequila Q: How why and when did you start making goa ? A: I started in 95, when I met my partner jean-michel. We released our first EP on a french label called Fairway Records in 96. Before meeting Jean-Michel, I was playing keyboards in a rock band and also making trance tracks in the style of german progressive trance. Q: How did you and jean michel met ? A: We met in a keyboard shop. Q: What are your top 5 goatrance albums and artists ? A: I particulary like about trance is Spectral, Juno Reactor, X-Dream, Dado , Earth Nation, Der Dritte Raum, or Simon Posford… I love Shpongle, as an ambient one . I’m a fan of Lifeforms an old album of The Future Sound Of London too. The trance albums i like are Bible of Dreams and Shango of Juno Reactor, Terra Incognita of Earth Nation, and the last EPs of Koxbox , Blue Planet Corporation and Atmos . Q: Your favorite jaia track ? A: Maybe Sentences To Heaven, or the last ambient one, L’Ivresse Des Profondeurs. Q: Is there a particular artist you like or you’d like to work with ? A: Juno Reactor, but I don’t see what I could contribute to them ! But now, I would like to work with not goatrance artist (in other electronic or not electronic style) Q: Could you explain us the paradox, everyone find Blue Energy great, but it remains hard to find, why? A: Blue Energy was released on Cross Recods, a very small and not goatrance french label, and it was very bad distributed out of France. Cross Recods has ripped us off (they didn’t pay us), so Blue Energy will be re-released with a bonus 6 tracks CD on a Japanese label, Yellow Feather, witch is a sublabel of Dakini records. The release date is 15th of September. Q: What equipment do you use ? A: A old 486 PC + Cubase (with only midi), a A3000 Yamaha sampler, and some synths like the Nordlead, JV-1080, JV-800, juno-106… I’m using the mixing desk Berhinger Eurodesk MX8000. I will get soon audio stuff like a G3 or G4 Mac. Q: How long did it take to make Blue Energy? A: 2 years, but we have made a lot of other tracks in the same time. Q: Where did you make your best live ever and why ? A: This is difficult to answer, but maybe our best live was in Portugual, in Estoril in 97, and in Japan in Tokyo in fabruary 2000. Japaneese and Portuguese people was so full of energy, so positive ! In Japan it was the best sound we ever had ! So, we love people in Switzerland too, and Israeli, English and German one are so crazy :-) Q: What are your future projects/releases ? A: Now the next release will be the re-release of Blue Energy on Yellow Feather in September. It will be sold on line too. I ‘m working now on the next Jaia Album. Q: What do you prefer : to make, to play, or to listen to the music ? A: This is 3 different things, so pleasure is different. To play is the pleasure of sharing my music and meeting people, to make the music is the buzz of creating a new track ,and to listen is something else ! Thanks a lot from all the Goa people community, and give us more great stuff as soon as you can ;-)
