To bad you are the only artist that seems to have this idea of thought. Who knows what killargh tracks we would have if they experimented more. But hey, maybe they like to do "their" style over and over again. Maybe afraid to leave the secure ground. This is offtopic btw SOUTH AFRICA RULES!

Did I just say that music need to sound like psy/goa to be good? Hmm...There is good music that doesn't sound like it. I fucked up hehe.
-
hehe, yea it was pretty dumb to compare the rock scene with psy scene I don't know much of others small scene. I got tossed into this scene and before that I didn't listen to much music. Ofcourse it would be great if something awesome and new came along. But it's hard to think that something that new could be as good as psy/goa. I mean, if it change too much it seizes to be psy/goa right? Would it be danceable? Who would enjoy it? Maybe it's just that whats need to be done. Get away from formulas. I don't know how to say what I'm thinking. Im kinda of stuck....but...Maybe you get what I'm aiming at. I'm also tired.

Thats an interesting thought. And we can just speculate. But also, do we need a next big thing? Must it change? I mean, rock/pop haven't changed for like...many years has it? If it has, please tell me. And it's still around. Maybe we get this "we-want-a-new-sound-syndrome" because there is WAY to much average tracks/artist out there. I think good things can be created with what we allready have.
-
Maybe you're right. But the progress must happen somewhere right? Beh! Things are going too slow. EP, you come up with the new "thing" please
-
The progress might be lacking but they progress just as much/little as any of the artists out there. It seems to have come to a complete stop thru out the scene. Like for the past 5 years? Except a few exceptions. Not even Unusual Suspects 2 (for example) had anything that was remotely "new". But I have a good feeling about South Africa. Nice to base my oppinions on a good feeling ey Anyway, I haven't got sick of their sound yet, no way. In fact, it sounds better then ever before. So keep the VAs coming!

Damage had 2 or so good tracks some time back. But thats it. Their album sucks. Rinkadink is one of the greatest imo
-
I agree on Twisted System - Twisted Tiger. It's amazing.

I'm also crazy about the South African sound. I think it has very high standard in "goodness" compared to other styles. Hard to say if it will push away the boring full on, but we can always hope . They already set new boundaries with their specific sound imo. I think that Artifakt may be carrying the new sound lol

What music are you listening to right now?
Insejn replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Hey! I just got it today Listening to it now. Track #2 Moonchild. It's fucking great! Check out my review of it in the review section. -
Artist: Shift Title: Excession Year: 2005 Label: Crystal Matrix Records Tracklist: 1. Stretch 2. Moonchild 3. Closer 4. Toxic Shake 5. Da Business 6. Skelm 7. Push It 8. Plung 9. Cerebral Cortex 10. 10th Day First of all: I'm an South African-artist-fetish Since his first album his style has been refined quite a bit. The production is obviously better. I have only listened to this album two times but I can say that this is one hell of a powerful album. I bet many of you are familiar with this kind of style. It's not regular (boring ) full on. This is darker, harder, more screamy and much more "ear-grinding". Somewhat technoish but still with the psychedelia in there. I love it. All those sounds, melodies, patterns and percussion on top of a rolling bassline and nice kicks makes this album outstanding. The breaks are well done and isn't to predictable, which I like. He know where he wants to go in each track and bring us along with him in this chaos of "fatness". Final Verdict: 9/10

I'm not 100% sure but check out Pop Stream & Alternative Control - Electricial Tones. You can find the track on VA - Evolve.

I haven't had any problems with them. I order most of my records from them. I only use Saikosounds when psyshop doesn't have the cd I want. I've heard their customer relationship is not good. But since I haven't had to email them about some trouble yet I really don't have anything to complain about. Very fast delivery and good prizes.

I'll take them. Are they in good condition?
-
Ok I got it. It was Insane Behavior - Public Program
-
Don't forget about Nexus Media.

I just watched an episode of futurama. Anyway...Lur (from Omicron Persei 8) ate an hippie and when he is about to hold a speach he says "ooh that hippie starting to kick in". Anyone know which track this is? It sounds very familiar. I got a feeling its Psysex but I'm not sure.

I think that Hux-Flux - Bring Your Own Bios on VA - Psychedelic Shiva Paranormal Dancers is an outstanding track that I don't hear much about. But it certainly derserves to be talked about So you know any "hidden gems"?
-
None of the ones you mentioned. The best was Rinkadink
-
I agree. This is one hell of a compilation!
-
I also like CPU. Overdose described it good and I agree that sometimes it gets a little "too much". Still a solid album.
-
Now that I hear Headspin. I think its a damn brilliant track! I almost forgot how amazing it was. Smart!
