  1. "You may be a free man during the day, but when you dream your monkey ass is mine!" I like to exercise. Well, until it gets too hard and then I wanna stop. Don't get me wrong, exercise is vital to a healthy mind and body and I do it daily. But I'm not trying to make Man United or score with a supermodel. Already did that. The supermodel part not Man U. Although in my youth I did have a tryout with Swansea AFC in Wales. But that was many cheeseburgers ago. But I digress. This was an exercise in letting go. When I first began listening to psytrance I can remember playing this CD all the time. There are lots of breaks and changes in direction so I can see why I liked this so much. But the original reviewer hit the nail on the head. In it's day it was engrossing full-on that hadn't yet been shoved down our throats in vomit inducing quantities. But when this came out 11 years ago...lots of things change in 11 years. 11 years ago I wanted to have sex all the time... and I still do. I just wanna see what's on T.V. first and if we have any pizza left. So I've come to terms with the fact that this is still full-on that's been done to death and it's a four letter word. It's not John's fault the guy was only 17 when he made this. He was at the head of the wave before it became a soul crushing subgenre where every teenager with fast tracker was making the next smash album. My music tasted have changed and I've moved on. The whole thing feels rather flat these days compared to current releases and improved recording and producing techniques. But we'll always have 2003. *rummages through fridge* Ooh! Pizza! Mdk
  2. Artist: UNTR Title: Darkmoon Label: Surface Tension Records Date: September, 2014 1. Slow Incredibles 2. Activate Nemesis Program 3. I Am Not Sharing My Body 4. En Ej Es 5. Mnemonic 6. Monster 7. And They Were Singing 8. Hypnocil 9. Equilibrium 10. Your Eyes Will Lie To You 11. There Is Nothing Wrong "I don't want that responsibility anymore! What happened...happened!" I think the artist just unintentionally described his album. Darkpsy goa? That's just me trying to put everything in a nice, neat box. It's really quite simple. The refrigerator has two bins. One labelled for fruit and one marked for vegetables. It's written right on the drawer. You can see that can't you? The little words...right there? Right on the front of the drawer? SO WHY WOULD YOU PUT A F*KING CUCUMBER WITH THE GRAPES!!!" But I guess darkpsy goa is what you could call this. Fast basslines, high tension sci-fi horror atmosphere, and sample heavy trance that has spacey goa melodies. It's dark and intense kinda like an anti-Suntrip. Did I mention that there were a lot of samples? A f*ckton. A sh*tload. *Olli Wisdom strolls by and hi-fives artist* So many that they dominate every track. As if he built the music around them. Unfortunately it makes the music secondary and transparent because every thirty seconds you're hit with a sample laden with dread. Well done sample from movies we love mind you, but it gets old rather quickly. Heard the first track? Heard 'em all. I like what he tried to do, but too many repeated samples that reveal the music needs more evolution. Still if you need more darkness in your goa it's only 5 Euro so it ain't gonna kill ya. But I'm listening... Soundcloud Mdk
  3. It's the little details coupled with the moody atmosphere that makes this a joy to listen. The first track is hiking for days and then reaching a false summit with the Himalayan mountains spread out before you. He's earned a fan in me. Mdk
  4. Artist: Ascent Title: Inside the Forest EP Label: Tandava Records Date: November, 2013 1. Heavy Clouds 2. Liquid Meadow 3. Purple Elves I know I'm not as active as I used to be. As a father of two I have other responsibilities so spoon feeding you wisdom and comedy has unfortunately tumbled down the priority ladder like Mr. Glass in Unbreakable. But that doesn't mean I've stopped listening to our music. Just can't review everything I hear. Someone's gotta put dinner on the table, do the laundry, clean the house, and make sure the kids don't die. So when I came across this guy I simply had to write about it. Ascent is Bojan Stojiljkovic and with a name like that I'm guessing he's from psytrance promised land otherwise known as the Balkan region. Don't quote me on that though I've been wrong before. This three track EP has made me thirsty for more. Much more. He straddles the line between progressive and psy like Ovnimoon. Each track is detailed to overflowing involving the listener in his story. Big time entrancement with a gloomy atmosphere. Seems like everyone is doing progressive these days and it's hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. But this guy is doing it right. I can't wait to listen to more of his melodic and moody stuff. Now if you'll excuse me I think I hear Dr. Phil calling my name. *Grabs bag of chips, steps over two growing piles of laundry, and settles in to couch groove* Beatport Mdk
  5. As I mentioned I began with their Amazon presence and then contacted them directly. Shortly thereafter they sent me a pdf of their sale list. Mdk
  6. Yep. every single album I purchased out of the 70 was $3.99. MDK
  7. I dunno. I saw stuff from 2013 like the concept in psy discs. They have stuff from so many labels. Temple of one I chose as well as midnight storm II. You clearly want to see a pic of my booty. MDK
  8. Do you like a deal? I know I do. I have been on the hunt for certain psytrance CDs of varying genres. Full-on, goa, but twilight mainly. Are you aware of their sale section? If you contact them they are more than happy to send you a full list (one that has over 1,400 selections!) of their sale items. Their communication as well as their selection is excellent. Now here's the best part. As some of you may know I live in the colonies. It's the greatest except for shipping across the pond. Usually get ass reamed in that situation. Not today. I ordered 70 CDs. 70. Know what the total was including shipping? $350.00. Even with my American education I can see that's $5 a disc. Sealed and brand new. I'm giddy. Excited. Elated. And I want to pass the savings on to you. If you're looking for older psy from a boatload of different labels at ridiculously low prices contact them. You'll be glad you did. Tell them the yank sent you. Pictures of my booty available on request. Wait, wait, wait...not that one. My haul. My treasure. Don't make this awkward. More awkward. Mdk
  9. Artist: Various Title: Nova Fractal - Perplexed Remixes Label: Timewarp Records Date: September. 2014 1. Perplexed (Fiery Dawn Remix) 2. Perplexed (Cactus Arising Remix) 3. Perplexed (Omneon Remix) Man Renato is making sh*t happen isn't he? Timewarp has become another label that has made a positive impact on the goa scene and that's good news for all of us. Whether it's CD releases or digital EP's that label has become rather vital in a short period of time. The original track by Nova Fractal first appeared on the Future Architecture album from Neogoa in 2011. Then it made it to his Fractal Landscape CD release. It's a cosmic goa trance storming track that is heavy in acid leads. Really good stuff. With this EP some of the next wave of goa trance artists take a crack at it and see what they can conjure up. Can they improve upon an already great track? Maybe. But (personal opinion alert!) why stack the chips against yourself like that? Wouldn't it make more sense to remix a track that wasn't as good? If you make a weak track great isn't that better than making a possibly inferior version of a great track? Eh, like I said just my opinion. What I don't want to see from a remix ep is f*cking carbon copy tracks. Make it different. Make it your own. Take it in a direction that makes me say, "Is this even the same f*cking track?" And this ep succeeded in avoiding that pitfall. Yeah they all are around the same bpm, but whether it's the intros or the juicy bits in the middle it diverges from the original. The old school pop of the Fiery Dawn remix and the break in the Cactus Arising take are appreciated. Omneon's version is an all out blitzkrieg loaded with acid sounds. All of them have sufficient twists and turns with great layers. So what you get is three quality goa trance tracks in the modern style that don't sound like three identical tunes. Nice job guys. 10. Artist: Various Title: Trance Experience: A Journey Into Aural Geometry Label: Discobole Recordings Date: 1996 01. 07'15" Psychonauts : Olympus 02. 09'04" Gene Joke : Storm 03. 09'11" Millenium : Mind's Eye 04. 06'55" Psycho Meditation : Cosmic Sunset 05. 07'07" Elxis : Ultramundane Magma 06. 09'04" Carpe Diem IV : Paranoia 07. 06'09" Jaïa : Mohamour 08. 07'08" 3TM : Trip 09. 06'53" Psychonauts : Shadows Of The Moon 10. 06'02" Tyoussi : Shofou Get a bunch of Greeks together and it's usually hairy chests, souvlaki, and a bunch of little boys walking funny. Ouch. That's uncalled for and more than a little untrue. Not every Greek likes souvlaki. Listening to this I feel like I'm at my town's "Greek Festival." And that term is in quotes for a reason. Seems there's no better way to drive the people that swear they are 1/8th Greek up to the surface than to advertise a Greek festival. All of a sudden everyone's a little Greek and admonishes you for not knowing that fact they never shared. Putting up Greek flags on the church, overcharging for Greek food served in aluminum tins and having a Dj sporting his fraternity shirt doth not a Greek Festival make. I think they just turned the banner over after the Polish festival was over. I wanna see some hairy chests, an alphabet that has more in common with geometric shapes, and some good ol fashioned lamb slaughterin from Uncle Nikos restaurant! You know the one (literally, the only one in town in which all 5 siblings work) And if you wanna trot a nude Mila Kunis out there I'm not gonna yell at ya. Sure I just threw some Greek stereotypes at you (all cultures have them good and bad...I'm Irish so technically I should already be drunk and ready to fight before breakfast is over) but in truth I only felt like I was at a Greek festival with the last 4 tracks. This album sounds rough and raw and I'm sure some will be drawn to that. It's lacking a bottom end as well as smooth layers and transitions. Compared to other compilations it falls short, but still worth a listen. Far from essential and most certainly not worth the extortion prices being asked on Discogs. Mdk
  11. Artist: Various Title: Kiss The Future Label: Atomic Records Date: October, 1998 01. 08'01" Morphem : Hypnotone 02. 07'05" Semsis : Temptress 03. 08'27" Tortured Brain : Electroencephalotramme 04. 06'20" Man With No Name : Retox 05. 07'17" Antidote : Miyukette 06. 08'18" Psychaos : Reality Hack 07. 09'39" Tim Schuldt : Ohm Shiva 08. 07'09" Viper : Snaked (Black Cobra Mix) 09. 06'46" Spies : Inorganic Being "Have we seen the actual reality of a monstrous crime...or an illusion, a product of a tortured brain." Original. Harsh. Dark. Hard edged. Techno & industrial influenced. All of these terms have been used to describe this. And they are all correct. It's futuristic music, perhaps set in a time when the machines have finally taken over. I can hear the opening of Hypnotone blaring through decrepit speakers in a human internment camp. There is nothing subtle to be found here. Electroencephalotramme is metallic percussion and wailing guitar with charged particles. Retox brings the goa back from the darkness and Psychaos is its usual chaotic self. But for me the track with the most depth is the Snaked Remix. It's brutal in your face style is part goa and part Front Line Assembly madness. The album is bull in a china shop forceful yet some of these tracks still manage to tell a story. If you are in the mood for something deep and different, and don't mind falling into an alien world then suit up. Mdk
  12. Artist: Various Title: Survival of the Trippest 3 Label: High Society Date: July, 1998 1 Bodh Gaya - Dinner For The Praying Mantis (9:08) 2 E-Rection - Out Here We Are Stoned (X-Dream Dang-A-Long Remix) (7:45) 3 Trans-Lucid - Atomic Pussy (6:59) 4 Paradise Connection - Synthadelic Glide (7:32) 5 Bodh Gaya - Dream Machine (9:44) 6 Trans-Lucid - Distortion (6:54) 7 Akasha Project - Smiling Doors (10:34) 8 Venus Vibes - Singerling (9:15) 9 Drop & Dash - Cloned (7:41) High Society? You know that's a lower level skin mag right? It says a lot when you find yourself looking up at Penthouse and Hustler. Anyhoo... Staring at the cover made me realize how primitive the early tribes mucosal transfer techniques were. Do you really think there are any undiscovered peoples on Earth? A tribe that has had no contact with the outside world? And I'm not talking about that link that makes the rounds on Facebook every couple of months. What you don't know is that image they keep showing you is from Teaneck New Jersey. It's true, there's a Dunkin Donuts just to the right of that photo and a pawn shop across the street. Their tribal dress Tuesday promotion really took off. Could there really be a group of people that have never seen a plane go across the f*cking sky? I can't go 5 minutes without seeing vapor trails up there. A people that have never had a cookie or seen pornography? Those poor bastards. Then again that means they also aren't burdened with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Bieber, or any of your garden variety Kardashians. Say, they look hungry. Do ya think we could get those tribes to eat them? The third and final CD in the Trippest trilogy is disappointing on a few levels. Number one it's only a single disc. Two, the number of artists represented has been cut. And most importantly the quality of the music has taken a dip. Starts off really good, but midway thru the album, the "ah f*ck it" mentality set in and people were doing the walk of shame from the office with cardboard boxes and plants towards the elevator. Dinner For the Praying Mantis is the best track I've ever heard from Bodh Gaya and Out Here We Are Stoned is well...Out here We Are Stoned. Synthadelic Glide shows that Boris could craft a kick ass goa track when he wanted to. And that's when things began to go wrong. The next four tracks lumbered on forever like a guy who's carrying two suitcases to his hotel five miles away. In the Amazon. Man did things go to hell in a handbasket quickly. The final tack...hmmm how can I put this in terms you might understand? It has a sound reminiscent of a poor soul choking her way through a blowjob. There I said it. This is called going out with a whimper. Taking the money and running. They pull you in with the sweet and then it's sh*t sandwiches for the remainder. Thank God those cookie starved porn deprived tribes didn't have to hear this. Mdk
  13. Artist: Various Title: Israels Psychedelic Trance Vol. 3 Label: Trust In Trance Records Date: 1998 01. 09'02" Astral Projection : Cosmic Ascension Remix 02. 07'38" Xerox And Freeman : Eternal March 03. 08'29" Domestic And Goblin : Tripnotized 04. 07'00" MFG : Psychic Resonator 05. 08'33" Children Of The Doc : Welcome Friends 06. 08'37" Domestic : Amateur Gynecologist 07. 08'32" Per Plex : Per Plex 08. 07'25" Har-Ell Prussky : Running Horses (Morning Mix) 09. 08'32" Oforia : Big Bang (Ambient Mix) This series was one of my first forays into psychedelic trance. Israel...seemed so exotic and mysterious. Gave me the sense that Israel was the Mecca of synthesizer and electronic music. As a Duran Duran fan (I can admit it) they had a track called Tel-Aviv which only heightened my level of interest in Israel. Back then I didn't know goa from psy, but was enthralled by those scales and melodies. Trust In Trance was Astral Projection's label so you knew what you were gonna get with this compilation. Cosmic Ascension Remix- This is just a cacophony of awesome. It never stops or even slows down. Perfect track to enjoy in the sunshine. Eternal March- Good, but too much time spent riding the bass line. Of course I wouldn't want to follow that blaster of a track either. Triptonized- This was a stormer that I had never heard before. Even when the beat dropped out the leads were scathing. Psychic Resonator- Not their best, but still sparkly and shiny. Welcome Friends- I found this to be the weakest yet, but still it's not terrible. I think the wobbly 303 saved it for me. Amateur Gynecologist- I know as me we like to fancy ourselves as amateur gynecologists, but would you really want that? Let me tell you it would be a lot less Heidi Klum and much more Queen Elizabeth. But this track was psychedelically juicy with bubbles and squirts coming from all directions. There are speed changes and some big growl. This. Is Psytrance. Per Plex- Before he made a career out of brainless full-on Ronen actually was capable of a psychedelic hard on. Nothing like the detail in the last track, but you wouldn't think this was the same guy who was behind every album he ever produced. Running Horses (Morning Mix)- Oh crap. Just because the word horses is in the title doesn't mean you must have a galloping bass line. But rather than disappointing it actually blossoms into something tolerable. And with Har-Ell I did not see that coming. Big Bang (Ambient Mix)- Not ambient per se it has a good bounce to it. Mysterious and calming at the same time. Really good compilation with some stomping goa trance from some of the best in the business. I'd buy it. Mdk
  14. Artist: Various Title: Firewall Label: Timecode Records Date: March, 2004 1. CPU - Keep The TimeCode 2. sHiFt - Dr. Silverman 3. Brethren - The Wolf 4. Twisted System - Artificial Intelligence 5. Artifakt - Right Foot 6. Rabdom L - Tantrum 7. Phyx - Contact 8. Triskell Vs. Audiobrains - Init 9. Broken Toy - The_Zine Family "Have you ever spent anytime with the zine family?" Ah...right about here is when South African psy superlabel Timecode was just getting into their stride. The Godfather of this type of psytrance they released album after album of crushing music for fans of the genre. It seemed that every release was better than the last, bursting with power and dark atmospheres. And this seemed to be where the momentum began. You got tracks from CPU and the triumvirate of sHifT, Phyx, and Twisted System that are just off the charts good. Artifakt brought his brand of tech-trance on a couple of tracks and the Brethren offering was another blaster. If you're a South African psytrance fan I believe this must be in your collection. Still sounds great today. Timecode Bandcamp Mdk
  15. Artist: Various Title: Sea Weed Label: Aquatec Records Date: November, 1996 1. Coneheads - Wildfowl Calling (Quacked-up Mix) 2. Tristan - Close Zen Counters 3. Sephalopod - Elliptical Orbits 4. Tristan - Paraphernalien 5. Faction - Deadlock 6. Neuro Electric - J. Edgar 7. Brian Shiva - Intensity One 8. Deviancy - In Too Deep 9. Metallic Heart - Children of the Night "Something to think about." I'm a little shocked this one hasn't been reviewed. Checked the search and couldn't find it. Anyway...Sea Weed. Do you know there are people who actually eat this sh*t? They call it a superfood. No real evidence to support this, but they say it may improve heart health, may regulate hormones, and is high in nutrients. All good things, but I don't know if I want to eat a food that looks the same going in as it does going out. But I've eaten at Arby's so it can only be an improvement. This album has a lot of Tristan and of course the label owner. You can do that when you own the label. I would file this under the experimental and psychedelic goa trance heading with a heavy techno influence. Similar to the stuff that Anjuna and Zion604 are pumping out today. There are lots of squeaks and digital farts. The diversity here is what makes this a gem that flies under the radar. Most of the tracks were pretty good with some good depth, just not spectacular. The one that was spectacular for me was In Too Deep. And I ain't talkin' bout Genesis. That one was a crunchy acidic monster with tumbling waves of sizzling energy. Like using a light saber to cut through a stick of butter. Really liked the Faction track as well. So if you're into more Psychaos or Slinky Wizard and less Dimension5 then grab this if you can find it. Mdk
  16. Artist: Talpa Title: Letter From Vienna EP Label: TesseracT Studio Date: June, 2014 1. Letter From Vienna 2. Perfect Psychopath I don't think Goran even knows who he is any longer. And that's ok. A little selective alzheimers can get you outta some sticky situations. And right back into them if you're the United States government. "Wait...Iraq again? Yeah I saw this movie. It ends with a lot of pissed off brown people and some unwanted heavy petting from the TSA when I fly to Buffalo. Whether he's Talpa or The Riddler the man is simply a rock star. Probably touring the world banging hot chicks wherever he touches down. His previous albums and ep's clearly separated the projects. You knew Talpa when you heard it. With this EP however he's become a hybrid or a doppelganger if you will. The eerie melodies of Talpa coalesce with the funky groove of the Riddler on the title track. Beautiful stuff. He straddles the line between progressive and psy easily seen in Perfect Psychopath. Hell that track is all over the place. He's doing his own thing and keeping it entertaining. If you like his earlier stuff give it a listen. Beatport Mdk
  17. Artist: Various Title: Vertex - Earth Remixes Label: TesseracT Studio Date: November, 2013 1. Joy of Silence (Suduaya Rmx) 2. Elements On Earth (Human Element Rmx) 3. Faith (Subliminal Codes Rmx) 4. Enlightenment (Aquafeel Rmx) 5. Surface (Midimal Rmx) 6. Out of Orbit (Side Effects Rmx) 7. Second Element (Nerso Rmx) 8. Out of Obit (Lyctum Rmx) "What you're trying to do as an artist is to have an experience that is worth sharing...and download it into another person's consciousness." The first time I played their debut album Ocean I was blown away by the smooth and intricate progressive sounds. Layers of relaxation just hoisted atop one another. With their sophomore album Earth they continued right where they left off. A few EP's were later released, but they didn't move me like the albums did. Prepare to be moved. Vertex are Zyce and Merlin and they comprise a Serbian powerhouse of melodic progressive trance and have some tracks from their second album remixed by a who's who in progressive trance. Suduaya begs you to let the crashing surf tickle your toes in the sunshine with a slick downtempo interpretation of the Joy of Silence. The Human Element prepares you for drift off with heavily reverberated vocals and warm sensations. Subliminal Code picks up the pace with sharp lead stabs, but doesn't disturb the groove. The Aquafeel remix let's you settle into your favorite easy chair with a hypnotic sound as Midimal sets up a house feel with a pillowy soft kick that is perfect for dreaming. The track Out of Orbit appears twice here and both remixes are top notch layer intensive experiences. Very atmospheric. Nerso returns to top form with a stunning remix that sounded perfect to these ears. Juicy, undulating, brooding... I took this album at face value. Didn't go back and listen to the originals to see if they were dramatically different...just settled in for a melodic progressive ride. And what a dreamy journey it was. The album works great whether you pick out individual tracks or just hit play. TesseracT can be very proud of this release. Highly recommended. Psyshop Mdk
  18. Artist: Cyan Title: Beast From The East Label: Discoble Recordings Date: 1998 01. 07'47" GOA 02. 08'48" Aizen Myoo 03. 09'45" Who's Laughing? 04. 09'54" Zap Phazer 05. 10'18" Tripulation 06. 10'28" The Eyes Of Buddah 07. 09'18" Elf 08. 09'50" The Beast Comes Out Holy sh*t when did listening to music become a f*cikng Ironman? This is a long CD. And it will wear your narrow ass out. Maybe even have you thinking about some life changes. The tracks are constantly evolving which is a good thing. It's Nitzhogoa without the cheesy melodies, but it still has that distinct nitzho sound. The pace is frenetic and this is what they should be playing in sweating to the oldies classes. You'll either drop massive LB's or drop dead from a heart attack. Hard to sit through in its entirety. There is a darker feel here as well which makes it more appealing to me than other nitzho stuff. One problem is the lack of variety when it comes to lead sounds. It's like groundhog day. Surely their hardware came with more than a few presets. All in all though it's still some blasting Nitzhogoa as long as you take it one track at a time. Don't forget to stretch. Mdk
  19. Think this one was a little bit of a step back. The tracks weren't bad especially for 2002, but they are far from masterpieces. You wanna tout Sonic Mandala? Fine. The Ultraviolet Catastrophe? Sure. Shapeshifter...you bet. But this is a definite fouth place finish and it ain't even that close. Thumping beats and acidic at times it's a good album, but like I said a step back when comparing it to some of his previous works. Sometimes goa sometimes psy it's not as developed and deep as those albums I mentioned IMO. And no I don't count 2000 O.D., The Pope album, and the Future is Right Now...that stuff was nonsense. Mdk
  20. Some things get better with age. Wine of course. Unless it's sh*t in a bottle. Sh*t is still sh*t twenty years later. What else...Salma Hayek's boobs. Have you seen those things? She may be upper 40's but those cans are in their twenties. But this didn't get better with age. Oy it went downhill fast. The first track was really good and reminded me of what Braincell was doing. The fact that it was in 2002 really was impressive since the psy scene basically threw up its hands in surrender at that time. But after that first track...full-on heaven. And not the kind that holds up well. Mdk
  21. Artist: Space Tribe Title: Shapeshifter Label: Spirit Zone Recordings Date: November, 2001 1. Out of Control 2. Echoes In Eternity 3. Kikkin Up Some Dust (Remix) 4. Taking a Risk 5. Live and Let Live 6. The Elixir of Life 7. Think-k-k 8. Secrets of the Universe 9. What is Consciousness "Progress, new ideas, inventiveness, creativity all of this I believe is related to taking a risk." I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with Manuser on this one. Look...besides Sonic Mandala Space Tribes early work was never that brilliant for me. It always sounded thin and could've been so much more. Left me wanting. I think in a dream world I'd love for him to remix most of his older stuff. And let's face it Olli never met a sample he didn't like. The sound quality on this is so great. Absolutely crystal clear. The tracks themselves weave between goa trance and psy and are frequently evolving. Even back in 2001 he was throwing some acid around. And Taking a Risk didn't take a risk? Remember it was 2001 otherwise known as musical darkness in the psy scene so he took a risk by actually putting some melodies in there. But what I like most about the album (besides the sound quality) is the twists and turns. Now I'm not gonna piss on your leg and tell you it's raining. This is not the peak of psytrance or goa trance. Not even the peak of the Space Tribe discography. But there are some good tracks here and with the quality sound production I think it helps push it above whatever some of his older albums were. Mdk
  22. Artist: Space Tribe Title: The Ultraviolet Catastrophe Label: Spirit Zone Recordings Date: October, 1997 1. All You Need Is Spirit and Nothing 2. Live What U Love 3. The Ultraviolet Catastrophe 4. Know Your Dopefiend 5. The Journey Is The Goal 6. Nuclear Fission Chips 7. The Source Energy Ultraviolet Catastrophe? Is he referring to his brand of trance party clothing? Have you seen that sh*t? What an eyesore. It's like a nuclear bomb loaded with Skittles. Even Imba wouldn't wear that. Well...he probably would, but that guy is mental. For me Olli's best album from a goa perspective was his first one. Followed by Shapeshifter. Then this. Although it's really close. The tracks are loaded with psychedelic goa trance. Not the storming kind, but the type that is very varied. One minute he explores psytrance and while you weren't paying attention he hits you with a goa melody. Of course it wouldn't be Olli if he didn't repeat samples or use overly long ones, but aside from that these tunes travel the gauntlet. Always moving, always reaching towards new territory. The opening track and the title track are epic journeys into experimentation with secret doors everywhere. He closes with an alomost stormer that gets more bod the longer it goes. Throw out the Dopefiend nonsense and add some layers to Nuclear Fission Chips and you've got a possible classic on your hands. Mdk
  23. Commented on this 7 years ago and it still is an awesome album. I would pay 35 bucks for it. Mdk
