  1. Most recent movie was Keanu! Good movie! Not perfect, but it was fun and I support Key and Peele doing more stuff. To my understanding, they are rebooting Police Academy, which might actually be interesting
  2. Eraser vs. Yƶjalka ? Lords of the Liverdance and Tarinat were always great stormers of albums
  3. This is exactly why I made it a point to not write bad reviews. Why should I shit on someone else's tastes? The idea of a review, to me, is to share why I love something and think other people would want to listen to it.
  4. process - one drop or two (editor's note: I have no idea who Kiriyama is)
  5. Flying Rhino "came back" a few years ago and it never went anywhere This round of return has indeed brought a couple of progressive eps, but I'm not putting much stock in anything until a bit more happens. The Cass era of Flying Rhino at the end of their initial run was the least interesting phase. They kind of spiraled into Meh around EPs 30 -> 40 When I say I miss Flying Rhino, I'm not just speaking of actual releases but also the type of releases It's kind of like the difference between GNOTR and the Dickster stuff he's been doing recently. It's just not the same... (and this isn't really Flying Rhino's fault. artists just aren't making that sound anymore. Air-Born had three tunes by Sean Process on it in addition to the Slinky tracks. Gus Till does chill out and mid tempo, Process does field recordings and experimental music and immersions, Darshan is progressive, etc etc. Matsuri is doing a decent job with its relaunch and I enjoy the new Flying Rhino EPs, but it's not quite the sound that I miss)
  6. Flying Rhino is the label I miss the most...
  7. Do you have to LOVE them all or simply Not Dislike any? I definitely have some which I don't dislike any, but some tracks I would say are not LOVE worthy... =)
  8. It pleases me to wake up and see more people comment on the absurdity of categorizing Man With No Name as experimental. Nearly all old classic Goa albums would have one or two downtempo tracks at the end of the disk. Since those albums span more than one genre are they all now experimental? It's not that one subjective point of view is more accurate than another, it's that your definition is inherently wrong and too ambiguous if it leads to these discussions. There is an aspect of education called Curriculum Framing Questions They should be fact based, have a narrow set of correct answers, promote higher-level thinking Here is a good introduction into it: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1_swtVK4X_2D0jxcmz4TSXx3ovA0TzjztyK2AdYzxuhE/embed?slide=id.i0 While I admire your work and efforts in trying to create this document, there are errors. Experimental, by your definition, is: Man With No Name has rules. His music is very structured and defined. Man With No Name is not experimental. I can ignore some of the other disagreements within the context of this article, but this one is just too much to let pass without commenting on.
  9. lmfao i appear to have a completely different take on a good chunk of this stuff this is amazing Man With No Name "Moment of Truth" is in the same grouping as Shaolin Wooden Men "Supermindway"... bwahahahaha
  10. That's a pretty sweet idea That way people can at least vote for what they're into if they don't have the energy to cobble together a proper review
  11. I used to review regularly but not much really piques my interest these days in the same way I'll pop out a review every now and then when inspired (Younger Brother, Texas Faggott, Benji Vaughn), but mostly I don't feel that I have much to add to the discussion these days. I'm rather jaded and I piss on most things. One of my main focuses while writing reviews was that I never wrote a bad review. If I didn't like something, I would just write a review about something else. There was always enough music that I could always find something to write about. These days, not so much. Also, after a while of not writing reviews, it also seems weird to write one again. The words just don't flow as smoothly or with as much ease. It was like the radio show. After you stop doing it, it feels like there needs to be a good reason to do it again. When that reason isn't compelling enough, I just skip. I haven't done a radio show in a while and have only written a few reviews in the past while too. Life is weird...
  12. lololololol yeah, that cover is intentionally low bar for a reason that said, Project Epona 2 is a great cover. It really falls in line with the first Project Epona cover and I'll eventually make mix #03 and that cover will be extremely NSFW There are reasons behind my choices... =)

  14. What? This was originally posted in the Free Music section. I own much Supercozi, I'm cool with buying things. That said, when seeing a posting in the Free Music section, it's kind of a bait and switch for it to not be free...
  15. That era of Matsuri really pushed that darker groovy sound Tim Schuldt The Visitors Nervasystem Joujouka Digitalis So good
  16. Agreed 100% And what is commonly referred to as "Forest" trance is NOT FUCKING FOREST music It's goddamn fast trance Rip Van Hippy Outolintu Haltya That's some true forest music The misconception of what is Forest annoys me greatly
  17. Thank you! I support and love Supercozi, but that was a serious case of letdown when I read the post
  18. Isn't this the free music section? I love Supercozi and I support her music, but c'mon! You totally just got my hopes up and now I'm bummed =( Booooooooo
  19. His 12" on Matsuri Evil Playground / Animatronic Both are great and quite different from one another
  20. Oh, and Eraser vs Yojalka! Lords of the Liverdance is KILLLLLLLARRR!! The track "Kaliman Kakarat" has some of the most wicked bass
  21. Ha! You did say Rip Van Hippy Shit, I missed that in there. Check out the Psy-Harmonics comps 4, 5, 6, and Iconic Many tracks are just monikers for Ollie Olsen (Shaolin Wooden Men, Visitors) but they are great. Iconic might be one of my most favorite comps ever. Good choice with Outolintu. Outolintu is the only artist to ever remix Rip Van Hippy. I wrote a glowing review for Odd Man Out when that came out. It's really great stuff. Might want to check out Psilodump. It's a bit more chiptune and 8-bit sounding, but still real fun breaky stuff Kino Oko has a variety of stuff and while not all of it is breaky, some is and everything he does sounds quite unlike anything else and might work with what you are after. Kiwa is some great breaky, funky, groovy stuff. You'd likely enjoy them a lot One of my favorite Ace in the Hole is an artist named Kixotek. He has one track on the first Psymply Psychedelic compilation available on Ektoplazm. I always thought that he would be a great addition to Psy-Harmonics but Andrew disbanded that label to focus on techno music...
  22. Loopus in Fabula is waaaay more disco than breakbeat Great stuff, love him But not breaks
  23. You should check out Rip Van Hippy
