  1. Funny, "suki" means "to like" in Japanese, like in "saikaderiku toransu dai suki desu" (I like psychedelic trance very much).
  2. Beautiful! Poetic! MInd blowing! One of the best entertaining acts ever! Miyoko Shida Rigolo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnDeo0yhIws
  3. @draeke: one thing is to visit a country as a tourist, you tend to see everything thru rosy glasses and even if you're in a situation where you're seen as a nuisance, you hardly will realize that. It takes some living in the country to understand the subtleties. Japan is a marvellous place and I have great memories, I met Goa there, to mention only one of the many great experience I had there. But also I heard things like "I hate when foreigners sit by my side" in loud voice on a bus. Or "foreigners in this room smell really bad, don't they?". Don't call me ultra-sensitive, cause I am not. I usually don't care much about these sort of comments. But after some time, it starts hurting. So, that's why I say: don't learn Japanese, let them communicate with you in their broken Engrish, at least you won't understand what they're saying about you. @Rotwang: the kanas really don't have sounds we know for letters "j" and "v" as in the sentence. However, more and more they're looking for alternatives to be able to pronounce unknown sounds to them. In this case "davaj", they use their equivalent of the letter U with ten-ten in order to produce a sound similar to V. Vivian, for instance, is pronounced "Bibian" in classic kanas. But there's a modern written alternative that can produce a sound similar to "Vivian", though not quite the sound of V as we know, but not distorted as "Bibian". As for J, they can use the sound of "zhi". For instance, Nataraj, can be pronounced in two ways: the classic "Nataraju" or in a more modern usage "Natarazhi". (Edit: these examples are considered a deviation from the cult norm of Japanese, you won't see this in newspapers for example, but you can see this on the streets and, close to home, I saw this in many flyers I collected) @Imba: if this is Japanese, did you mean "Draeke, I like Davaj"?
  4. As a Brazilian, I hope you know what you are doing. Brazil can be the best place to be, if you are in the best place. But it can be hell, if you are in the wrong side. Despite plenty of good news in English about Brazil, the truth within the country is quite disappointing. It can be dangerous: crime is unpunishable here, lots of criminals everywhere. The economy is floundering after 10 years of really bad leftist-populist administration. And 2013 has been the year of the dengue fever, everywhere. No cure or solution in the horizon. I don't want so sound pessimistic, just pragmatic. But come, if you really think it's OK. At least we're friendly and like to share and partying.
  5. Americans can, and should IMO, learn Spanish as linguistics specialist say that in 50 years time, USA will be a bilingual country. If you go to places like MIami and California, they look like a mix of Mexico and USA. I agree French is on decline, but still a lingua franca in a good part of the world, mainly Africa. As for learning languages, I think that Japanese and Chinese are a waste of time: you can use them only when in the country, they are totally hard to master (actually you have to master twice: once for spoken language, and once again for the written language). And, mainly, once you master them, you get disappointed when you discover how xenophobic they are. I lived in Japan for some years, but after learning it, I sort of 'unlearned', to pretend I was not hearing some ugly comments inside trains, subways, shops, etc...to avoid awry situations. But more than I am proud of, I retorted - in Japanese - to comments I heard with offensive words of my own. For those wanting to learn a bad thing: the worst thing you can call an Asiatic is calling him/her "ugly", as in lacking beauty. This is something they can't overcome.
  6. You English native speakers guys are born with the comfort, and luck, of having everybody else having to learn your language.
  7. I once heard a joke that for us, speakers of the so called Romantic languages: just add -um and -est to the end of words, and guess what!, we're speaking Latin: -Falou com o teu amigo? -Faloum comest o teum amigum? May be a joke, but it does sound like Latim. Doesn't it?
  8. Just out of curiosity. I can speak, in order of level of fluency: 1. Portuguese (native) 2. Spanish 3. English 4. Italian 5. Japanese. E o resto de voces? (And the rest of you guys?)
  9. Hi. I created a post in "DJ Promotion" under the title "DJ Procyon - Eerie Voices Chill Out set", only to discover, to my dismay, that 'eerie' is an English word associated with horror situations instead of dreamy or haunting ones in a positive way, as I thought. So, I changed the file name to "...haunting voices", but I couldn't change the title of the post. Can you guys do that favor to me? I appreciate that.
  10. Hi guys, I fell in love with Ibiza chill-out and have been playing it for a while. This is a set of female-only chill out tracks, all hauntingly beautiful. In & Out Of Love - Armin Van Buuren (Aelyn Chillout remix) (05:30~) 3. Eugina - Salt Tank (Sargasso Sea Chillout edit) (08:45~) 4. Memories - Within Temptation (15:40~) 5. Paradise - Magic Island (DJ Shah Ambient Soul remix) (19:25~) 6. Weightlessness - Andre Nikkensen feat Aneyn (Chillout version) (24:30~) 7. 11. Quantity is not quality. I prefer here than some other forums that people post tens of unintelligible replies like this: "killllaaarrgh!!!" then "yeeeeashhh!!!" then "monsteeeerrrr!!"
  12. This is something that I keep repeating about how different it is to listen to a CD at home and listening to it from blasting giant speakers. Two completely distinct experiences. Absolum was one of the artists that I could test how the same track sound more hypnotic live. I guess it's the subsonic stuff that makes the difference.
  13. IMO, problem is that psychedelic trance is not selling well enough to keep a business based on it. I see people buying Goa CDs, and directly from the labels, and even there the numbers must not be that cheerful, I guess. Not buying thru a medium like Saikosounds. Beatport is still open because it sells other genres, psychedelic just a small part of it. It is sad, Saiko was one of the veins of the old scene, when MP3 was a geek term known by only a few. Signs of the times... In a few years, I think artists will write goa/psy only for the passion of it. Mubali once said in a forum about artists not selling well that he had found a permanent solution for the problem: he found a real job.
  14. Curiosity killed the cat. The male cat, I mean.
  15. Well, I was quite happy at 17. I enjoyed school, my friends. Only minus is that I had a devastating affair with a very well known drug dealer, and it was a scandal as you may guess when everybody discovered that. He was no good , but damn!, he was handsome and gentle and liked me. And police liked us both, in jail, if they could. in the end it was emotionally catastrophic. I don't recommend you fall in love with drug dealers, it's a roller coaster. 😕
  16. Being compared to Tiesto is an appraisal, never an offense. Club trance has some arpeggios sequences that are in a class of their own. I just expressed it is somehow surprising to see such a change in AP style. Well I an a diehard fan of AP. but I wasn't aware of Burning Up.
  17. What Radi? You're in ultra efficient Germany and can't watch this short vid? Can't believe that. I am in ultra inefficient Brazil and it pops up as fast as a pop-up irritating ad.
  18. Found this recent video in youtube. If I heard this by chance, I'd swear it was be Tiesto or Corsten. Perhaps they're looking for a new path, towards a more totally clubby sound. By the reaction from the crowd, it seems it's working. Good luck.
  19. I think AP have been taking a look at our comments here in Psynews, and seeing that our feedback has not been positive, they are re-writing some tracks. Or maybe I have a 330 rpm imagination😝
  20. Neogoa is doing good, given it now has strong competition with prog and fullon, while in the 1990s it was the the main trend. But it's still in development. Or not. It lacks the boldness producers had in the golden years, investigating into new sounds out of the safe goa recipe. But it will come with time, and then it can be the Golden Years #2. I support and play neogoa, but it can get better a lot. I still stand by the topic I created last year arguing that neogoa tracks were way too sterile and plastic.
  21. If I could, I would go to SUN Festival. Line-up is amazing.
  22. I once again turned on the TV and this crudely, but beautiful movie was in the programming. It's one of those movies that make you stop and think about your own life, the things you have, the small treasures we can afford but hardly notice them. I recommend and would like to have your opinion on it, if you watch it.
