  1. As a tech-trance l recommend Antic album from 2006 and some Ectima tracks.
  2. The scene as a whole is having a revival.
  3. Watching a documentary about Pope Bento XVI. Not a Catholic anymore, but I am Christian, so I feel sorry for the old man. He tried what he could to clean the Catholic Church, but he was silently bullied, isolated and betrayed. By the way, for those who believe in them, there's a prophecy saying the next Pope will be last one before Armagedon. Save your soul, asap
  4. Do you know of any artist who released great tracks but that weren't written in high-end softwares? I mean, I was reading the music production section and got curious about some comments that what really matters is the creativity (of course), and not techniques and softwares used. Using this topic about tecnicalities, I would like to learn more about artists who wrote great psy/goa tracks in simple softwares.
  5. He certainly made Bladerunner unique. One of my fav sci-fi movies ever.
  6. I am listening to this: DJ Domino, one of the best djs ever. I would love if someone could name the track she is playing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5zKxZF34tw
  7. I was listening to some old CDs, and it came to my mind a musical article I read some time in the 1990s on which the author wrote how mesmerized he felt when he firtst entered a club playing goa trance. One thing glued to my mind: he said he felt immediately confused and at the same time relaxed, and then he made a brief description of the ancient unnatural arabic melody pattern and the effects of the constant rhythmic kick and bassline, in order to explain the confusion (the arabic pattern) and the relaxation (the constant pulsating sounds). I guess these were the main reason goa was so innovating those days, and perhaps if we could find the first artist who had the idea (perhaps unintentionally) of putting on the same track these two elements, we should pay him a tribute. But I wonder also why hasn't any other form of musical 'dope', say, another form of "arabic scale", been created yet. I read more recently that some artists have been working with binaural beats, but they don't work for everybody. Just like hypnose, not everybody can be hypnotized. Do you guys know any other form of trancing elements that are being used. Or more importantly, is anyone trying experimenting with new elements?
  8. Most e-music stores keep a register of your downloading, so you can do it again using the same account.
  9. It is raining dogs, cats, birds, cow, all the zoo here, looks like a deluge. Waiting for it to have a break then we can open our bar. Listening to bossa nova in the meantime.
  10. Still on this subject: isn't it worthy selling in iTunes? Thing is: people who visit iTunes tend to buy tracks there, iTunes may eat a large part of the sale, but the label's share multiplied by the number of people who buy it makes it profitable for both sides. Not the perfect solution, but that's what I read about rock bands: if you sell in iTunes, you have a small profit. If you don't sell there, then you don't sell. Another side to it is that iTunes has millions of visitors per hour, the chance of someone stumbling upon your material is bigger than selling to a niche crowd. Well, my 2 cents.
  11. I am reading, again, The Gospel According the Spiritism, a French book by Allan Kardec that is the reference for those who study Christian mediunity, its philosophical, scientific and religious implications, and that also is the guide for the COEM (Course of Mediunity Education and Orientation), which I will start this next March. It is the obrigatory book for those who are mediums or have some potential for mediunity.
  12. Jus in the news right now: two huge balls of fire were seen passing over Rio and Vitoria this afternoon. This time authorities say they were meteors. They don't know if this happening is related to the Russian incident or with the one filmed over Rio last Sunday - which was not a meteor, TV said. But no one knows yet what it was. What is going on??
  13. Witnesses who saw it described as a ball of fire, adamantly denying it was a plane (at this point I wonder why people who are half the Earth away keep affirming it was a plane, discrediting local witnesses and authorities. Also, why the hell would a person who sees contrails, a very common sight any place in the world, testify it was a ball of fire? It would not make the news if it really was contrails). As for rumours of what it was, you may guess: flying saucers, the Lord Our Savior, Satan, Superman, the Apocalypse, etc etc etc...everything, but a plane
  14. Man you know how to be stubborn, don't you?
  15. People in Rio are used to see contrails, Rio has 2 busy airports. This one made to the TV, unusual as it is.
  16. Ball of fire over Rio de Janeiro this last Sunday. For those thinking it was a plane against sunset rays, authorities said it was not. But they also don't know what it was. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjArODbkSiM
  17. I have asked Psynews moderators to interview Martin Freeland, hope it happens and perhaps he can answer your question (finger crossed here).
  18. Man, this is worse than the Chinese characters written backwards mistakenly on the arms of a guy I work out with in the local gym .
  19. Just because I complained that it's hotter and hotter, this summer we are having unusual low temperatures. Since January we're sleeping with edredons. I don't remember feeling cold in Brazilian summer. Weird times.
  20. Perhaps Radi604 is right after all... A young French woman tried to destroy one of the most known paintings in the world... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/9857597/Eugene-Delacroixs-Liberty-Leading-the-People-defaced-at-Lens-Louvre-gallery.html
