  1. Sorry for prying guys, but you mean you're doing nothing with your friends and families. Right? But if you're alone, I can get you two invites for a men-only party. If this is not your cake, then what about a girls-only party? Well, they're butchers actually and much more macho than you two together, but they're girls anyway. Let me know when you make up your minds
  2. It is almost there. What are you gonna do this 31st December? Me, gonna fly on the 24th to the South of Brazil to spend the holidays in my parents-in-law farm, a nice place with a strong Germanic influence, and where the weather is nicer that in Central Brazil. Returning on January 4th. In short, a rural countdown, which is nice for me. I love the countryside. For those in Japan, here's something you can't miss: http://www.psychedel...m/product/12987 Notice that MASA is gonna play a Goa set. Wish I was there.

    Heavy metal.

I think the link is that a lot of old school goa writers were from heavy metal bands. I read once that all members of The Green Nuns of the Revolution came from a - horrible - metal band. Also, most psy-guitars artists do have a foot in the rock territory - which is great.
  4. I agree with you Sideffect, except in one point: it's not by caused Northern hemisphere solely. It is caused by all of us. According to scientists, Europe, Canada, Russia and USA will be the best places to live in the future, weather-wise: Winters will get warmer, but still nice, and Summers will be hotter, but not as hot as in Brazil, India or Australia. I myself, have given some thought to moving to NY, as I have the legal status to move to USA - solely based on the weather. Wonder how many millions will do the same - illegally - in the coming years.
  5. Taking a cue from the North and South differences topic, I live in Brazil as you may know, and I feel that it's getting hotter and hotter. As a tropical country, Brazil has a summer that lasts 10 months, a one month Fall and a Winter that lasts one or two weeks. But it was not like this, my mother says that some 30 years ago, the cold weather would start in mid-April and last till September, with temperatures not rising above 30 Celsius in July, as we see now. I remember that time, for we had to use jackets to play outside in the backyard or in the streets. 2012 has been a specially hot year, so hot that my boyfriend bought us a air-conditioning. Something he never saw the need to have. And we officially are not in Summer yet. I wonder what is happening to our Earth, some may say that the climate changing by man is not happening. Easy said if you live in Europe or USA, where changes in cold weather are not felt by general population as it happens in the Southern hemisphere. All I may say is that in comparison to last year, every year is hotter. In Brazil, it's so hot, it is almost unbereable. I am a witness that climate changing is happening, we never felt so in need of an air conditioning. Our neighboors too, almost all of them are buying in this summer.
  6. Just this moment I am listening to DI.FM Goa/Psy channel and they're playing Hugh Sharpe - Trip Through Time (1998), a mix of 1998 tracks, of course. It is sad to hear that tracks from that year were so "trancey", and that this element is almost gone from psychedelic trance and its subgenres but it's present in other genres as Tribal House or Tech House. I agree with someone who said in this thread that trance is achieved thru repetitive patterns, it's obvious in Hugh Sharpe's mix. I don't know how to repeat a channel in DI. FM, but if you have the chance, listen to Sharpe's mix, it's gorgeous.

    Heavy metal.

Errr...There's also the 80s hair bands - despised by HM purist fans, but loved by a huge fan base. Me among them. Just yesterday was listening to Def Leppard while driving. Amazing falsettos.
  8. I have just found the Tech-house radio station in DI.FM. Some tracks are more industrial, some very housey, you have to pick up to make a trancey set list. I asked to a friend of mine his favorite tech-house track, he pointed me to the below video. Actually it's a house track from 1995, but he said it's the parameter to his setlist. If you listen to it in a good earset, it has the sort of tranciness I mentioned above. Johnny Corporate - In The Pocket PS. It's not my topic guys, fell free to elaborate on it as you wish.
  9. Just adding: the 100 people that came to our party, danced more to his set. Even my boyfriend said he liked his set best, and I took that comment seriously. For he does not like electronic music, but I saw him tapping his feet to the tech-house DJ.
  10. Not directed to me, but I would like to contribute. IMO, there are some elements that are not used in trance - or when used, in a light way in comparison - that other genres are using in a more trancey way. Namely, echoes, space sounds, vocals, kicks, effects, and all the combinations of them. Not only tech-house, but house and "normal" trance seem to be more hypnotic these days.
  11. I think that's why I felt surprised: I had this idea that trancing out in electronic music was inherently related to trance only. I was expecting some industrial/NY club from his set, but it was deeply hypnotic in a way that I wish trance was doing instead of tech-house.
  12. Last week I played a goa set (the same I posted in the DJ Promo section) and was pretty satisfied with the reaction. After me, a house DJ played and his set blew my mind. Making a 1-hour history short, his tracks were refined, uplifiting and what really caught my ears were the hypnotic effects I thought belonged to the trance section of electronica. Honestly, I caught myself liking more his set than mine. I am not comparing his set against mine, but the general technical aspects of them - that translates as the hypnotic element in the tracks. I am a hard fan of Goa, never thought would find another genre that would call my attention, but tech-house is far more "entrancing" that I firts thought. That said, any recommendation of tech-house is welcome.
  13. Now that Nirmeyer is gone, some of his creations will be modified.
  14. No one is expecting a "wow!" for this release, Goa is past its prime at least one decade. But it doesn't mean that anything will do. Why not asking a real talented artist or DJ from the old times to remix this? I guess you picked DJ Anneli based on friendship, instead of real talent.
  15. Not necessarily. If you happen to live in Tokyo - for instance - for two or there years, you may see a list as long as that one.
  16. Well, I envy you. You saw almost everybody that really matters in psy/goa.
  17. I agree with IMBA, this seems it's going to ruin Destination Goa reputation. But...innocent until proved guilty. Let's wait and see.
  18. Winner set list. Good taste. Liked it a lot. X-Dream and Spirallianz tracks are out of this world, even if I hear then 1000 times a year!
  19. Sorry, I forgot that. I am doing a string decoration that looked easy to do...now it's taking hours and hours . Download function enabled. Thanks. Spread Goa around!!
  20. I agree, only if I can post picts of hot, legally aged hunks.
  21. Here's the tracklist, but out of order (I will check it later). 1. Sinhu - Free Space 2. Agneton - A New Hope (Nova Fractal remix) 3. Siam - In Void 4. Yar Zaa - Virus 5. Hypnocoustics - Ashtamangala 6. Amithaba Buddha - Psyramid 7. PharaOm - Cellar Door (Nova Fractal remix) 8. Zed Reactor - Beyond Galaxies 9. Psy-H Project - Exhalation of Mahavishnu 10. Alienapia - Fear & Anger 11. Siam - Moondust 12. Sky Technology - Indian Spiciness
  22. I saw many of you saying that there's no scene where you live, but have you thought that you ARE the whole scene in kilometers around your city? I say that, not criticizing, because Goa has two different faces: one tired, like old school guys who liked it. And a unknow one, for a lot of people don't know what Goa is all about. The tired guys, well, there's nothing to do. They had their time in the 1990s and can't dance anymore. As for the "unknown face" of Goa, I say: throw parties if you want a scene around. Someone has to star it. I am, bravely, throwing monthly parties with pure Goa and people like it. The secret to bring them to the party: different DJs playin different styles. Last month was a house DJ who brought in a house crowd that enjoyed my Goa set a lot. Next party is an uptempo chill-out DJ, them me again. After that a techno DJ, a psy DJ and then - guess what ? - me again playing Goa. I am the owner of the bar and the organizer of the party, so I think I have some rights . But I have to confess: I am organizer-decorator-accountant-DJ, it takes time to throw a small party. But it's worthy. It is priceless to see people open-mouthed at the simple, yet magic, deco fluor and the guys asking tracks titles. I know some of them are thinking seriously of DJing Goa.
  23. Oh, I didn't realise it was not downloadable. I will fix that. Problem is that I don't rehearse for mixing, I do it on the fly. I am listening track by track and matching the titles as I don't remember them by heart. Will post it ASAP.
  24. Here's my latest mixing of dark neogoa tracks I did during a small party at a friend's house. Feedbacks are welcome!
