  1. Concrete is not the problem PharaOm. Tokyo and NY, for example, are cities of concrete, but they're somehow pleasant, for there are islands of greenery and the weather helps somehow. In Brasilia, if Niemeyer's buildings were surrounded by some nature, they would blend in a beautiful way. Problem there is that Brasilia is a city with a 11-month endless hot summer. It is man made desert. What really enrages me is that his "school of architecture" spread thru Brazil in the 1960s: there are hundreds of planned cities that are as unpleasant, or more, than Brasilia. But, thankfully, there is this new generation of architects that take population into their design, hope they fix that horrendous place.
  2. Yes, it is. But his buildings lose their creativeness in the end, after one sees the lifeless desert that surrounds them. My brother worked in Brasilia for one year, his favorite hobby there was taking the next flight away from it, he does not even want to visit his friends there.
  3. Who said you have to be gay to like another man? Quite the contrary, a man has to be macho to let another man inside him! Eheh...
  4. @ColourDotz: as a Brazilian, I have a few words on Niemeyer. The worst architect ever, simply put. Brasilia was his dream, a one man's dream, mind you. He didn't take into his dream one element that is the most important of it all: the local population. Making a long story short, Brasilia is ultra-hot city with open spaces with no trees or shadows and large and long avenues. This makes the city a nightmare to do simple things like going to the local supermarket or walking a dog. His mistake was to design a city in European style in a tropical country. I don't think people would need to ride a car with air-conditioning at maximum power to move two or three blocks if Brasilia was placed in Northern Europe. But Brasil is a warm/hot country, asphalt here is so hot you can bake a cake or an egg in five minutes. I have foreigner friends who dreamt of visiting Brasilia, only to say later that it was the most unpleasant place they've ever been. Last news I heard, there is a group of foreigners architects just waiting Niemeyer to die to make some deep modifications in Brasilia, namely creating shadows with trees or undeground tunnels to make people leave their cars at home and walk, a green attitude that is impossible to practice now. The worst thing of all, is that Niemeyer was so prized abroad that a whole new school of architects followed his path. Now, in places where temperatures reach 35 Celsius and that used to have parks like Central Park in NY, we have huge squares of concrete and cement with no trees at all, with a senseless sculpture in the middle of it. The very downtown of the city where I am living now we had a park full of flamboyant trees with a lake, places to sit and have a talk while having an ice cream. Now it's a 100m x 150m cement square with no trees at all, it's so hot that even after midnight it radiates heat absorbed during the day. No wonder downtown is dead place now. So, please stop praising Niemeyer and his horrible school of design. He was a man who thought of a world made of blocks and blocks of cements, no green was allowed in his dreams.
  5. I am a 1990-er, so UK (the creator), Israel (best influence) and Japan (best scene) makes sense to me.
  6. The 2nd half sounds acid to me. Off-topic: where did you get this player? I need one, and liked yours.
  7. This equalizes everything by the lowest parameter possible. I can't accept that, will keep my criticism sharp and ready.
  8. I have high positive expectations from AP. But "Tears in Rain" must be their worst work ever. Really ugly.
  9. But I want to make clear it's not an OS problem as you pointed. I didn't post any such thing I'd post a link but it's a bit awkward at the mo since I'm posting from an iProduct The rest is just some tech complications, no matter what OS one is using.
  10. I am using my Mac, and visited Psynews with a Windows, and I understood what you meant: While pasting from my iPhone the following subdivisions of www.psynews.org can be copied/pasted: pages/threads/subpages of threads. All these appear as distinct numbers/letters in iPhone. However, it can't be done with either Macs/Windows, which doesn't show psynews.org subdivisions. The reason I don't know, it's up to the developers. But I want to make clear it's not an OS problem as you pointed, but the theme that psynews is using now. FYI, I am using the IP.board theme in Macbook. In iPhone it's a dark blue theme that doesnot show its name. But I use the following shortcut signed to my psynews app link: www.psynews.org/forums (which appears as the mobile version of psynews, unintentionally as it seems). Which works in a different way from the www.psynews.org mobile link (which appears just like in note/desks: the site is not resized to fit into the small screen, fonts are unreadable). As for your comments: 1.Yes, in fact you posted one such link a few minutes ago. That's what the '#entry1001845' on the end of your URL means. As said above, the url sudvision appears only in iPhone 2. There is in the desktop skins, namely the post number at the top right corner of each post (#620 for this one, for example). I'm not aware of such a button in the mobile skin. How did you get to the page you linked to? The number #620 does not appear in the www.psynews.org/forums screen. As said above, the sub-sub-division of psynews.org appear automatically when copying in my iPhone, but not in Windows//Mac notebooks. 3. Actually you don't - if you hold down a link rather than tapping it, a menu will pop up that has an option to copy the link without opening the page. OK. There are more than one way to copy a link, you may or may not open the page. 4.But you just did it! Can you remember what you did? There's some misinformation here, from one of us. AFAIK, what I copied was a page of a thread, not a post. A post to me, is a individual writing of a member of, say, a forum inside a page. Like this one here, is a post from member Procyon number 621, posted in page number 31 of a thread called Site Questions/Requests. I understood I copied the page 31, not the post 31. That's why I said I know I can copy/paste pages (as I did with the page # 31 using iPhone), but not posts (like in post #621, #133). In brief: pages can be copied as I did, but not individual posts. Or am I wrong, or my definition of 'post' and 'page' in English is inverted? Edit: Here's what I found twitching a little with the site: if you bookmark psynews site as www.psynews.org IN YOUR DESK/NOTE then all the pages, posts and subdivisons won't be shown in the url. But if bookmark it as www.psynews.org/forums, then the subdivisions will be shown in url. Here's the link to this very page, from my Macbook: http://www.psynews.o...s/page__st__620 Hope it helps the link copy/paste problem.
  11. Huh? I am lost here: individual posts have a link? Never heard about that, is there any button which shows the link of, say, your post above? Edit: AFAIK, if you want to link, say, the page 29 of a thread that has more than 100 pages and you want to link to specifically to page 29, you just have to open it and copy/paste, like I did above. But if you want to copy/paste a link directly to a post in the page 29, then I never heard of that, neither in my Windows era, nor now using Apple. But it could be me.
  12. http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/53032-site-questions-requests/page__st__600#entry1001845 I linked this via my iPhone in less than 5 seconds: 1. Open the page you want to link 2. Click on the arrow/square in the bottom of the screen. 3. Click in 'copy' 4. In the page you want to paste it, click twice anyplace in the text area. 5. 'Paste' will pop up, just click on it.
  13. Really? I made a search but didn't find it. If you please could link it, I will be thankful. Errr, I did type "ukraine" but it appeared "russia", bugs! . Seriously now, as I said in the review section, there are some youtube videos info stating that Alienapia is from Russia, my mystake for not checking it properly. But I do state that this sort of goa has a distinct sound.
  14. I do apologize for my edgy words, I have this ugly natural 'talent' that needs to be dismantled till the moment I pass away. But I think I am somehow right. Take a look at the review of "VA-Space of Power": it's rich, it makes the album itself so much more interesting. After reading some comments, I am sure some details that went unnoticed come to full light to some of us. A track that had no past, like the one from RD all of a sudden gets a direct connection to a UX work. And reviews, positive or negative, are important to keep a good work going on and a bad one to make some adjustments.

    VA - Space Of Power

IMO, you guys should keep releasing stuff like Space of Power: some soft goa and some hard. Or release only works like what Psy-H, Alienapia and some others are doing, this kind of goa certainly has a public hungry for it. I am one who are utterly happy with it, and expecting more from GS.

    VA - Space Of Power

Oh, sorry. It is just that I read some YT info, some said both Psy-H and Alienapia are Russians. It is just like when some American guy says that the capital city of Brazil is Buenos Aires .
  17. VA-Space of Power recent review brought me back to this topic. Can not wait for it. This sort of goa you guys are releasing should be called Russian Goa. It is distinct from other kinds of goa out there. Best wishes to your work .

    VA - Space Of Power

Making a point on how opinions are indeed a personal thing, I want to highlight your review of the Psy-H Project. because I disagree in a 180 degree angle from you. In my opinion, Exhalation... is the best track in this compilation. It is exactly the sort of goa I keep looking for when I listen to a new release. It is strong, powerful, with a ippon kick that can rise a tornado on the dancefloor. The star of this track is the bassline, hypnotic and trancing. The melody comes as a side order, given that the bassline is so well build. But I take that this sort of full-on mixed with goa is not for everyone. Psy-H comes from a new school of goa, the Russian Goa which is - as expected from Russia - a hammer slamming on a sound system inches from your ears. No wonder he works close with Alienapia, another Russia producer that makes tracks for the strong ones. I personally don't like what most neogoa producers are doing. Only a few tracks please my taste. Most tracks you rated 3.5/5 I would rate 1/5. So, in the end it's good that neogoa is pleasing everybody: the soft ears like yours and the strong ones, like mine. By the way, can't wait anymore to get Boloto's Trip from Psy-H, to be released in November. One of the best full-goa tracks.
  19. The more I listen to this album, the more I like it. Alienapia work is bold, he is in my top 3 neogoa producers right now. Russian mix of full-on and goa is exactly what I like to listen, play and dance to. I haven't found a review yet. This album is so good it made me feel like doing so.

    VA - Space Of Power

Nice review man. Interesting to read opinions from an ear new to the neogoa grounds, they look more genuine.
  21. That's exactly when someone who has nothing intelligent to say, does: cussing and cursing.
  22. "hmm. Thats your opinion. but you say it as its definite. "that is what makes people dance" It is not at all what makes ME dance." Hmm, You're right. This is quite subjective.
  23. You mean that because we have 2, 3 releases per year only, we should keep our opinions shut ? Well, you said you have issues with reviews before. It is advisable, for you, to stop reading them. I can't see any use of a review section if opinions can't be emitted or if they have to be twisted to fit into this or that momentum.
  24. Good to see you're back. The melody is awesome.
