  1. You are absolutely right. Decoherence makes the multi-position phenomena collapse into a single state, the one we observe. However, quantum scientists are making the interference experiment with larger and larger particles. Some are saying that in a distant future, the situation created above wlll be observed, given we find the right technology to "see" it in macro world. As for the impossibility, take it as the Schrodinger's cat experiment: it helps the mind to see it, though the experiment itself is impossible to carry out to this day. Cats are relieved for that. Call it a poetic license, if you will. It is not easy to imagine the multi-position phenomena if you don't bring closer home.
  2. No, Lemmi. I liked your imagination. But it's not the case. Well, if this is of any help, even Eistein was confronted with this problem and couldn't find a solution. It is one of the reasons he said his famous "God does not play dice" sentence. A single particle, say, a electron is fired thru two doors. Of course it has to pass by one of them, as it is a single entity. However, it passes by the two doors at the same time. It is as if you left your bedroom and turned left to the kitchen, and at the same time turned right to the bathroom. You are one, but are in the two places at the same time. Mindbending? Yes, for classical physics says it's impossible matter to ocupy two places at the same time. Is it important? It is, for the very computer we're using now uses the technology derived from the "one in two places" mystery. We use it, but we still don't know how it happens. That is why there are some technology institutes that offer prizes for the explanation. Millions of dollars. And the discoverer of the mystery will have done what Eistein himself couldn't.
  3. A real-world mindbending problem is this: A man receives two invites for distinct dinners held at the same time, but in difference places in the same block. He leaves home to attend one of them. Next morning people that were in the two parties tell that they saw him at the party they were at too. Meaning he was in two different parties at the same time. How could this happen? If you find a solution, you have right now one million dollars waiting for you. Later, contracts worth billions of dollars. Plus, fame and a name in history like Eistein's. And, the situation above does happen in real world.
  4. The logo is cool, FR was so cool that IMO it was the most refined psy label. Luckily, I have the R:volution Box, my friends die of envy when they see it!
  5. I have one, on my back, but it's a little bit porn - only my bf sees it. So, I can't post it.
  6. @techno: the first photo, is that the Flying Rhino logo?
  7. I agree with Ollylovesgoa: Psynews is known for its overall goa atmosphere, I have read this in IT more than once - while IT is more full-on, prog and dark oriented. Perhaps dedicated sections to each style would bring more people.
  8. Plus, here's the main reason iPhone 5 will sell spectularly: customer loyalty. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57508125-37/iphone-again-tops-j.d-power-satisfaction-survey/
  9. I will CC+CV one comment from another forum about iPhone 5 that explains a lot: This iPhone is perfect for people who want a smooth, drama-free experience with a phone. Meaning, you can use this phone for years without having it freezing, crashing or dying. This is what makes Apple users return to iPhones. My whole family is a good example of how Apple excelence in design and technology is more important than "surprises" every year: we all have left Windows and Androids and got used to OSX and iOS. I keep reading things like "my XYZ phone had this feature since 2010", or "my FGH screen is larger", and it's true. But they're not iPhones. To me, a technology debuts properly when Apple adopts it, if Apple does not use it then I know I don't need it, that it's not mature enough and I won't miss it. And most important: if it's not used by Apple, then Apple will provide a solution that works better than the outcast technology. Last, every phone is good for its owner. I can't understand these Android users who get desperate because people feel good using other brands.
  10. By "numbers" I meant more people signing in and visiting the site. As for the different languages, I think if you want changes, then changes must be done too. Good luck with the improvements.
  11. IMO, you should have sections by languages: here in Brazil the vast majority of psy fans can't type English decently, and we don't have a good Brazilian forum (there was Baladaplanet.com.br, but the mods let it get virused to a point you could not post or read anything). So, after BP died, most went to Facebook. You could have sections in Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and French and whatever languages asked. They would not interact with the main forum because of language barrier, but if you want numbers, that could be a solution.
  12. Well, it is their worst album so far. Being a hard fan of X-Dream, it's the only album I can't listen to. Was it the "poetry", the lyrics that irritated the fans? I think it's because of the "message" spread through the album. A clear example of how themed tracks don't work well with trance. For the "message" usually needs a medium - a voice singing it. We already have IM throwing caca from the stage. Talking of singing psy artists, that American girl should stop doing that grotesque act with X-Dream, and open a boutique in Syria or become a monk in India. Whatever .
  13. ohh, these lazy English native speakers. They are born with, automatically, the most spoken language in the world. On the other hand, us - estrangeiros, gaijin, etranger, etc..., we can call them bad names in our mother language with a smile in our faces. And they will smile back at us FYI, the link is broken. en francois.
  14. Oh yeah, the purists. What would forums be without these pests?
  15. It sounds like an amazing party. I wish I could be there. Zen Mechanics rocks the house. Have a nice trip!!
  16. @ needle ninja: well, supposedly you would explain what you hear in those tracks that you don't hear anymore. But, be my guest
  17. I may be wrong, but isn't tekno a modern version of 1990's Rotterdam Techno - later known as Gabba Techno? To my ears, both sound the same, only that tekno is darker (if possible) than Gabba. Here's the classic of the classics of Gabba techno: You Will Never Be Mine (yeah, Gabba was famous for being somehow humorous) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxAkOn0Hbac
  18. I found this wonderful 2000-ish remix by DJ Domino, one of the best acts I have ever seen
  19. I was listening to some old CDs, and I had an idea for a thread: Post a track you like, but you don't hear the same pattern currently. Explain why you like it, if possible. Mine is a classic to my ears, Nerve - Channel 59, from 2000. I like its ambient texture, the "lost in space" noise in the background, the hard beat and the old-style bassline. It was a tech-trance track. Zenon Records and some other labels release tracks that they call tech-trance, but it's completely different from the original style. Nerve - Channel 269
  20. Her tracks appeared in Goa-Head, Destination To Goa, TanTrance, along with AP, MWNN, Chi-ad. She was played in parties that are now legends themselves. That makes her name one that old-school trancers, like me, to remember with fondness. Here's one I like very much: it's a little bit acid, with a hard drive beat and its twistwed towards the end. Space Baby
  21. I really didn't like the bassline in this remix, the original is much more entrancing.
  22. To me, Goa was and always will be music that is deeply related to the spiritual. I don't think that, say, politic messages about crime (a la hip hop), can blend with Goa. IMO, the path to be followed should be completely different from the one you are suggesting: keep looking at the stars, at the invisible, to the nature - that's the best message and inspiration.
  23. Dafuq!!! (I have just learnt this dirty word from an American friend. Though I don't cuss, I think it sounds funny ). Well, dafuq!, I am ultra-curious to hear it, but I can't play in our SS right now!
  24. Yes, you all are right. Goa was a blend of several music schools. However, it only was shaped as we know it (multi layers with a fast drum) when the 140-bpm was incorporated. The novelty at the time - the fast rhythmic drum kick was created in Detroit, then it reached London. Then it reached Goa.
