  1. Well, thanks for all suggestions. I have discovered that I feel totally connected with these wonderful songs. In another forum, someone mentioned Mazzy Star as a trip-hop artist. Not exactly a trip-hop act, but the feelings are great. It makes one want to drink wine, smoke cigarretes and feel depressive in a joyous way lol.
  2. I love downtempo music, have lots of ambient and chill-out stuff. But, to my surprise, a whole new world I wasn't aware of opened to me: I have just met trip-hop. Of course, I know some big names (Nightmares on Wax, Portshead, Massive Attack...), but my knowledge stops there. I wonder if there's a trip-hop 'scene' (though I visualize trip-hop as something to be appreciate alone), and if there are acts out there. Anyone?
  3. In Ao Nang, Thailand, paradise on Earth @moderators: it seems I duplicated the post, can't delete it. Can you do it, please? Tnx.
  4. I don't know if this topic is a good idea...imagine if we recognize each other at next Ozora: -So, here you are, finally ! Do you remember what you said about MY album in Psynews  ?? Here's what I got for you! (Punch! Screams! Kick! Ippon!) Well, let me find a decent photo of me, I will post it soon. As long as I am promised no one will hit me in Ozora.
  5. It would help AP and their fans a lot if some sort of a text documentary was published by one of their peers. From the outside, the album seems only a list of postponed dates that never ends. I am sure if they explained what's going on, in details, people would understand better. As for the videos, I don't know if I liked what I heard. Sounds like a mix of old goa plus neo goa plus prog plus click trance. Well, I may be confused. Or I may not.
  6. Rayrex, this one I know. Every now and then I throw Channel 59 to the dancefloor, usually as the opening track of my set. It's one of the most gorgeous techy trance track ever
  7. I understand Ormion and agree with him to some degree. However, for the sake of separating two different styles which have techno in common, I refer to the likes of MOS, The Delta, Eargear as TECH-TRANCE. And the BigWigs, KinoOko, Fuzzion, as PSY-TECHNO. But, honestly, I respect, but don't see any psychedelism in the sounds of Fuzzion or BigWigs for instance. It's more close related to click-click-trance than to real psychedelic trance. I think these psy-techno lack the darkness and melodies that made tech-trance so rich. MO, anyway. As for the two labels, along with Zenon recs, they're doing a great favor to us, releasing fresh, different sounds.
  8. Thanx Rayrex. I never had heard NDMA, nice to discover they're MOS disguised.
  9. MOS live?? I'd cut one finger to be there. Someone going to this party, please record it. There's no videos of them playing live. "clouds" is my favorite tech-trance tune ever!! Edit to correct myself: have you guys ever heard of NDMA? Well, take a look at this video: NDMA aka M.O.S. (btw, can anyone tell me what is the title of the track that they're playing on the first half of the video, loved that!)
  10. Here we go again bitching about tastes. It doesn't take much of it to realise that this EU album is pure Pshitrance. It doesn't matter whether EU is a veteran or not, it's just that this album is really ugly to some, really good to others.
  11. Electric Universe sounds so gms-esque. It hurts.
  12. Mike A: When I read this, I felt ashamed on your behalf. That's the ugliest line I ever read in any psy forum. Perhaps you are in the wrong one.
  13. I think that the main reason psy is not so psychedelic anymore is due to something that man cannot analyse easily: inspiration is related to a certain point in time, place, and it's finite because of that. I have noticed it over a lot of different areas where talent is involved. In my case, I see it happening in music and in literature. Take rock, for instance, so we can draw a clear comparison to what's happening in the psy scene. Rock had its peak from the 1960s to the 1980s. Over that 20 years span, it went from Beatle's school of rock, to heavy metal and finally in 1980s to the synth-pop-rock. All of these three different 'ages' had their peaks (personally I feel related to 1980s, I miss a lot what the likes of Van Halen, Whitesnake did), and then rock'n roll simply faded into a tasteless state. What happened from 1990s then? IMO, we lost the 'romantic' aura that influenced 1960s-1980s generations. Back then there were more feelings (bad and good, dark and light feelings) involved in the writing of a track. Back to our psy scene, there were more feelings, opinions, backgrounds, feedbacks, experiences involved in the writing and producing of a track. Also a lot of then psy producers had just crossed the line from synth-pop (or were influenced by dramatic groups like Depeche Mode, New Order, The Cure), and they brought this load with them to psy. That's why psy sounded more 'soulful' then. Today's psy is under the influence of the 1990s and 2000s, which were simply tasteless for music of every genre, save for hip-hop and RnB - whose political anti-racial tracks not always are meaningful for people outside US and GB. Of course, there were some good acts, but they are not as rich musically as it was till the 1980s. I have an example to cite: AC/DC, who with their last album just reached the sky. Why? Because they wrote their tracks exactly as if they were in 1980s. Listen to their albums, you'll learn what I am talking about. To psy again: we won't have another "goa atmosphere" as we had in mid 1990s-early 2000s. Places, religions, politics, travelling, the whole 2010s atmosphere itself have no room for "mystique" anymore. We have, yes, room for high-end technology, but this can't replace the human factor. In the end, I think Goa is past, a past in Glory mind you, we have now to expect a new wave of 'sentimental' tracks, which will not be related deeply to Goa. IMO, this will come from NeoGoa scene, when it matures. My 2 cents.
  14. Oberon doesn't deserve this. He is one of the best full-goa producers, and "Pray for Dawn" is a great track. I have played the track for a while, and people come ask about the wonderful chanting. This video is crap, and I don't understand what's the point Oopie wants to bring up. Well, I guess her point is: Skazi's killlahhh is better than a full-goa track badly remixed and played by a killaaah DJ spinning a microphone on his hand. Call it a bad taste
  15. If you writing your tracks like that on purpose, then it's ok. That's what you want, and I say you have achieved it. It's just that I like "In Void" a lot, and it sounds a little harder than the rest of your tracks. That's why I wrote that a little bit of bitter melodies would be great. I still like the a little darkness in Goa trance, that's it. But then, you have a niche, and I am sure that a lot of people like your tracks. Good job, man!
  16. I am a fan of yours, SIAM. Your music outstood in youtube, where I discovered your work. So, as a long time fan, I would like to suggest to you that a litte "darkness, drama" would do good to your tracks. The way some of they are, it's sweetness from 0:00 till the end. Colorfu Expansion sounds way too sweet. But don't take it personally, most neogoa tracks suffer the same problem, as I have criticized in other posts. I think this neo-style will mature with time.
  17. Hey, thanks for this great compilation. It's exciting to see so many talented artists, so many great tracks. As always, SIAM never disappoints me. Loved his tune. thanks guys!
  18. Great picture of Russian psy. Love Fungus Funk. Love this also: " chemically-enhanced landscapes. " One of the best explanations of this scene in 3 words!
  19. Are, or were, you guys talking about this?
  20. This thread is a good examplo of how the notion of "psychedelic" is subtle and subjective: none of the videos grabbed my senses, despite being very good. I have a hundred tracks I think puts me in a tranced state. One I remeber, and love, is Mantic - Bazaar Bizarre.
  21. I had the good fortune of been living in Japan when the first european Goa acts started playing there. It is a special place for Goa. Clubs and forests, they seem surreal when you're there listening and dancing. If you were there, you know what I mean. If you weren't schedule a trip to Japan, I recommend Autmn, the cool weather, the ambience, the rich fluo decoration, the attention they pay to small details. Go and check what I am talking about. I wrote this because I felt nostalgic after watching these videos: http://forum.isratrance.com/goasia-filteria-tsuyoshi-ahega-tokyo-japan-2011-01-09/
  22. It's good, but to call it "best psy trance release" you have to be Psykovsky's mother. Are you?
  23. Yeah, I voted for "The Flame of Eternal Life", more exactly for this remix below. I hope we're talking about the same version of "The Flame". Its final minutes (at 05:40, when the first melodies are introduced, and at 08:04, when everything goes spinning) are a hurricane of beautiful melodies, it made me a fan of Chi-ad. A psychedelic vortex. Biocandy, Eye am the I, and many others are pure gems. I still remember when I would buy a CD with any Chi-ad's track and would hurry home, eager to listen to is ASAP. He never disappointed me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le3vcK0zXy0&feature=related
