  1. Come on guys, open your minds. Every other track DID influence Nitzho, I see my beloved Chi-ad pattern in almost all Nitzho tracks. So, MFG. And Astral too. And if Elysium was there, then he knows something. You guys were there too? I am afraid not. I can't say anything, I was not there. I only know that I do recognize some known Goa patterns in Nitzho tracks.
  2. Well, I guess you mean you were laughing at d2k2, but it doesn't matter. Your comment about AP sounding melacholic sometimes reminded me of another topic I saw somewhere here (or was it in Isratrance?), about the "shalowness" of Neogoa, because it sounds too fluffly, too sweet. AP did sound dark sometimes, and that's exactly what made them so good. Neogoa has something to learn from these wizards from the past, be it AP, be it MFG.
  3. I won't vote because it's like comparing blue and green hues. AP is fantastic, if they weren't they wouldn't a cult band to these days. MFG too is wonderful. Only that both have had their ups and downs. Just like any other artist. AP made a big mistake with Amen. MFG with their last album. But both, wow, still make me travel billions of miles away with their tracks. IMO it's unfair to compare them. And, Penzoline, beware of your opinions, you may regret laughing at "Dunes". I have been in this scene since 1995 and I am not ashamed of saying that an album is S**T when I hear one, you saw me on the Protoculture's topic. So, I may say that "Dunes" is a great track. I think that AP is now levering the rest of the already written tracks to its level. IMO, AP next album will surprise all of us. As for MFG, I do hope they do release something which is refreshing and MFGish at the same time.
  4. The whole NOMA's Navigator album. Powerful basslines.
  5. I don't know if it's going to be soon...but it's Astral Projection new album. "Dunes" triggered a hope inside me that this album will be really, really surprising
  6. Chic! Chill, ambient, perhaps the best music around. After goa, I mean.
  7. Ah! Blue Room . Such a beautiful name, I still have one ambient CD from Blue Room Released, it's wonderful, timeless.
  8. @Elysium: apparently, you didn't read this part of Richpa's post: I never understood why people think acid is ok. I know some guys, still young, who have holes in their brains. They're non-sequitur, whatever they do, there's never can finish it, because they can't remember clearly what they started doing. Funny, the only thing they are really good at, is writing psychedelic tracks. It comes with the territory, I think. Sad, Slinky Wizard was a great act.
  9. Great article Richpa, really entertaining and informative. It made me nostalgic, especially when you cited Mandragora. I remember I used to think: what a beautiful word, and what unknow mysteries is behind it. The only thing I would like to comment is that between the end of the Golden age of Goa trance and the rising of NeoGoa, there were a lot of unknown (then and now) artists and DJs who kept the style alive, despite their tracks never knew labels or recognition. I remember, back in 2001, you could find (after hours digging in dark, hard to find sites in the web) Goa tracks freshly made, but that only 5 people around the whole Earth would listen to. I still have some of these tracks. Unfortunately, the time have passed for these unknown artists, but they kept Goa inside their hearts - to the point of making them write and produce even if there wasn't a crowd out there. But there were some, eager to listen to them. I played a lot of these tracks at parties that had DJs before and after me playing endless IM, Astrix tracks sets. So, I am not correcting your article, but it would be great if these really under-underground artists were remembered. They somehow kept the flame alive.
  10. My fav one is Elysium's art cover, I do love South-East Asian elements. If you don't mind my opinioning, as a web designer I think that there's an imbalance between the art and the fonts (I take Shade & Witchcraft and Highpersonic as examples). Also, the size of some fonts seems to pollute the art. If I had to pick a CD based on its cover, then again it would be Elysium's. Despite that all the covers are great, really nice job.
  11. I got one of his album form Ektoplasma, liked it a lot. Real psy.
  12. Well, gatecrasher trance is just like psychedelic trance: there are wonderful tracks and then, the ones "that doesn't meet your expectations" I learned to love "Gouryella (remix)", among others. It is really trancey, sweet, melodic.
  13. I was wrong man. Colin OOOD just opened my eyes and now I regret what I wrote you: I just can't stop listening to your tracks and the Alien Jesus CD I have changed my expectations towards Eskimo, Wrecked Machines, the Infected Mushroom vocal-stuff and that full-on tracks that I used to say that destroyed the scene, and now I am enjoying all of them. You know what? I will ditch all my Goa CDs, my tech-trance tracks, the last Opsy stuff, Liquid Soul last tracks, I have changed my mind. Thanks to your (and OOOD's) pointing me you guys only make wonderful, really good, trance at its maximum, tracks. I was blind, really. Go in peace. You have made a fan here.
  14. @ RTP: don't worry. It is really hard to name a psy track, even if you know the smallest details of it. It's easier if there's a verbal message. But, most trance tracks are instrumental.
  15. Yeah! Now I'm love with Alien Jesus, I was a fool before I met you! You saved me! Thanks, ooh Walking Light!
  16. Penzoline: Man, haven't you just read that it's not that bad, it's just that you expectations were not met? Expect nothing, then you will love Alien Jesus :D
  17. OOOD: so, in your point of view (as opposed to mine) what are the facts then? Your perception of them is the one to be followed? Mine? Your friends'? My dog's? So you see, OOOD, it doesn't mind what you think or what I think. I may say I don't like "Alien Jesus", and yet, you may think it's great. You may say that Protoculture is your parameter for trancing out, and yet, I may think his music makes me down-to-earth in seconds. Point is: if you like it, and if you write you like it. I will respect your opinion (just like I do in every post I write here). And I expect the same from you. If you don't like it, and if you say so. I will respect your opinion also. The same rule applies here. What really bothers me, is when someone writes "well, his work is not good at all", then someone else comes to say "your opinion is distorted, I have the truth here: bla bla bla". It bothers me even more, when this comes from the author himself/herself. A little dose of humility is more than welcome (mainly when you SELL what you do). Learn from guys from this very forum that distributes tracks for free, and are humble enough to ask people what they think about their work. Well, OOOD you are on my list of gods of trance, along with Protoculture and a few others: they can't be touched, or talked about, or they get angry (God forbid!)
  18. OOOD: I don't know about your pop career, wish you success. I think it's funny your last paragraph: you mean, you never ever disliked someone's work? A book? A movie? Clothes? etc...? Because, according to what you wrote, it's not the movie, the book, the clothes, that are not good. It's the taste and expectation of the one who buys, watches, wears it that is not well adjusted. If you agree, then I envy you. It must be nice to live a life where everything is beautiful, nice, charming. No ugly stuff anywhere around. Now, if you disagree, then can you elaborate your last line, please? Because, then, I and a thousand guys need to understand why "Alien Jesus", for instance, is a good work that was not decently appreciated by us.
  19. OOOD: as long as I am free to say my opinion on your teen-pop trance release if I don't like it, you are welcome too.
  20. @ Drosophila: my mistake, replace 1990's trance for 2000's. That's what one does writing in three sites at the same time. BTW, I was there, saw the first GNOR live act in Japan, threw parties etc etc...so, I know what I am talking about. @ OOOD: you don't do that please, but I don't doubt your capacity to do cheesy stuff. Keep doing your good musci, will you? Thanks. @ Protoculture: I could write a book, replying your answers to mine. No use at all. I made my point, no need to reinforce it. Well, Proto, I wrote a book sometime ago. I was bashed by the critics. I thought it was the most creative stuff I ever wrote. However, unlike you, I took them seriously as a writer. Guess what, now, years after, I accept it wasn't that good. And if you read that book, and said in-my-face: man, your book was trash, I would say: you're right. The same way I take compliements when people say they loved the book and expect a sequel (which is taking me years to finish)... So, I don't see why you are taken aback: if you do some sort of public work, man, be ready to receive flowers and bricks. The same way you smiled at Rotwang's licking your balls, smile too when you read someone saying your work was not that good. And it wasn't at all. Again, take a look at the title of this topic: this must show you how many people disagree with your own opinion on your own music. Last, take the gatecrash thing as a compliment, it's a good scene. Yeah, you have been booked a lot , does it mean I should change my opinion? I do hope your next release is great, and I come here appraising you. That's business man! Didn't you ever have a boss?
  21. @ Protoculture: no offense at all. Because we're talking about work and not about personalities. Perhaps my wording was not clear, because it was short. What I meant is that you are one of the best images of 1990's psytrance: not psychedelic at all. I don't blame you, you're a product of the environment you're inserted in, and at the same time your work fed that same environment. How could you try to cause a vortex with your sounds, when you had to play with the likes of Eskimo, Wrecked Machines - artists that write for the same crowd that danced to, say, Britney Spears? That is why I mentioned OUR world: the world of psychedelic, the true one - where your sound didn't mesh with at all. You see, we talk about the original stuff and its more modern ramification. However I am sure you are a huge success among other kind of psychedelic trancers, the same kind that paid to see your live act - and honestly they're a world apart from us (at least from me and the guys I know). So, sorry for my honesty. But you, as an artists should be ready to hear negative responses to your work, just like a writer does. I am sure you're talented, but your work just reflected what was expected from you, not your full loaded creativity. If you had done real psychedelic trance, you wouldn't be the subject of this thread: a new bottom of the well of psychedelic trance. Sorry mate. I repeat you must be a nice guy, but 1990's was horrible for psy trance and you helped keeping it so. Well, I do wish you success. My words are not intented to hurt you, I didn't pick the words, neither wrote them carefully. It is just the way I feel when I try to watch youtube videos featuring you alive: 1990's trance killed psychedelism. By the way: your tracks sounds better in a gatecrasher trance club than in a psy festival: it's the ambient. Please don't take offense.
  22. I guess we are bashing Protoculture not because of his exposure under Armin's strobelight, but because his sounds never were part of OUR world. At least that fits me: I think he made mediocre psy trance before, now he makes mediocre euro trance. That's it.
  23. @ RTP: yeah, I reckon it wasn't an easy job. But give me some credit: I heard only an excerpt of the track, the apex of it - what 10 seconds at the most. And it's not easy to name a track without lyrics, just like we do on search engines. I thought it had a full-onish beat on it, but it's because Liquid Soul's remix is a little harder than the original version. Anyway, I am glad someone could name it.
  24. And what about a dedicated radio? It could be great, for instance, to hear next Suntrip release played (and sold) here firsthand. I love Di.FM, but they play a lot of bad stuff mixed with the good ones.
  25. I agree with Richpa, Joomla is great. However, my site-builder of choice is Wordpress. I have tried to create a whole site using Joomla, and it's quite complex if you don't have a good knowledge of computing. Wordpress is more intuitive, and the plugins and widgets are vast and really nice. I used Joomla before, but I have switched to Wordpress, It's easier, you save time and some neurons too.
