Do you remember your first 3 goa /psy tracks ?
IronSun replied to Neurosect's topic in General Psytrance
hmmm... must've been all infected mushroom I think... The first one is definitely Cities Of The Future... The other two I don't remember as well but I do know liking Psycho and Where is S? a lot... -
I'm not yet at home in the progressive department, but from what I have purchased/listened to so far my favorites are: Vibrasphere - Archipelago Nerso - Exploration Of Infinity Ovnimoon - Magnetic Portal Highpersonic Whomen - Alternative Energysource Solar Fields - Earthshine Etnoscope - Way Over Deadline Koxbox - The Great Unknown Son Kite - Colours 12 Moons - Solid State If anyone has some recommendations (really modern stuff too please...), shoot! I'm kinda getting into prog these days. Fits the hot weather like a glove! (hehe) The cool thing I discovered about prog is that there's sooooo many different kinds of moods to be found in it...

Even though it gets quite cheesy in a few spots, earth moving the sun is still my favorite of him, mainly for own the world and possessed, which probably ranks in my favorite goa tunes of all time list. Indeed fantastic track, great energy, and a kickdrum to die for! Here's own the world, many will consider this borderline eurotrance and very cheesy, but to me the title exactly conveys what the final climax makes me feel... to own the world...

I agree! This for me then is a very nice evolution. The kick and basslines are progressive and sound very modern but the melodies really have a goan touch to them. Great production value! Some of the vocal samples used on the album border on cheesy though, but I can take it

And quite literally so, dear sir! Great list btw, I have always liked your taste in psytrance ^^ Waves from outer space is indeed an incredibly powerful album, surely one of my favorite dark-albums. I'm wondering though... No psykovsky?

Yes, awesome compilation! How great is it that we've had 4 newschool compilations from 4 different labels already in 2013? Not to mention the compilations from Hado and Neogoa end of last year. Newschool is alive and kicking!

What music are you listening to right now?

To be honest I just haven't listened to any of their post-2000 output yet... And maybe I never will, considering these rants

This compilation contains some of the best tracks in 'neogoa' history imho. Cosmic Dimension's Viral Breath has such a great sound, Javi and SK0oma's track is very memorable as well. Really great compilation.

Exactly! And I think the second part also sports some tracks by Nova Fractal and Trinodia.

Good, I ordered his last two albums and the call of goa (which I intended to get anyway). If I like them, I'll buy mysteries of psytrance vol. 3 too. @Richpa: great track indeed!

So has anyone checked out the new album trancemutation of the mind? I'm curious becuase I was listening to some samples and it actually sounds really good... I'm totally not familiar with his works, nor the label's other releases. Yet, I also listened to some samples from mysteries of psytrance vol. 3 and was pleasantly surprised. This seems to be good fullon! Anyone in the know on this? I'd really love to hear some opinions, pro as well as contra. I might order some stuff soon =)

most of the time I dance in bursts of about half an hour, and then move on to the side or go talk to friends or people I know and rinse and repeat. Except when a great act like Dimension 5 or RA is playing, then I dance for 2 hours straight.

I like my life, so an 8 is in order I guess =) Then again, what is happiness? It's such an abstract concept really with soooo many factors all more or less depending on eachother.

From a great album too! Imho Fragletrollet gets overlooked a lot when mentioning the masters of the forestgenre. This is my favorite from the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIyctAX4lKo

Good to see you here as well Tom I'm Inactive_Drug on the Belgian forum =) Are you coming to Lost Theory this year btw?
-
The thing is that it's shitty for a dj if you want to use a track from a mixed cd in a track and it's mixed in a way that you can't use it. I think that's all... And yes, Goa is too layered to be altered by cdplayers and turntables in a significant way. Adding to that, trance tracks tell a story, and it's a shame to chop that up because imo many nice smaller stories combined can make for a magical big picture.

How about this dark?
-
I like good dark, I just don't listen to it as frequently as I listen to goa. Good dark for me is Kindzadza, Psykovsky, Phobos Azazel, Derango, etc... If heard at a party I will dance to it too =)

The second disc of this: I think the tracklist speaks for itself

I'm so curious to see him for the first time this year on lost theory!
