  1. Fantastic that you pulled it off Draeke, congratulations! As for my expectations: SKYHIGH
  2. Awesome samples... Definitely looking forward to your debut-album man! Keep up the nice work!
  3. I have had pretty much the same experience... Goat Man makes the crowd go completely nuts!
  4. Are you aware that this was posted on ektoplazm as a free release? Here is the link: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/healer-wonderground If you were aware of this and really just want the physical cd, ignore what I just said ^^
  5. Procyon, if you haven't checked out Artifact303's album Back To Space, I strongly urge you to. It's really just perfect.
  6. Yup...had it happen to me too... My distance to goa vol 5 was graded as NM but can hardly be called vg. The worst thing is that there is a scratch on the disc which prevents me from playing my favorite track from the first disc, Deedrah's remix of SHakta's Leptonhead in my dj sets because it glitches. Sigh.

I must say that every single time I hear Shadow Dance I am so utterly amazed by it I can't put it to words. This must probably be one of the absolute highlights of their career as far as I'm concerned. Simply amazing track.
  8. Finally! Been waiting for this since it was first announced, GIEF NEW ARTIFACT303 TRACKS!
  9. I agree with basilisk on this one... I don't think there is a need for further sub-categorizing goa as from a dj's viewpoint I think it is cool that within the genre called goa one can build a set with so many different moods and colors... If we will bring more and more sub-genre's to the table it's only going to get more confusing I think. Just search long enough for the music you want...
  10. Cool, thanks for posting this! This will be an interesting read and might even become a thesis-source ^^ Anyway, I'm currently looking forward to Graham St. John's new book: http://www.amazon.com/Global-Tribe-Technology-Spirituality-Psytrance/dp/1845539567/ref=pd_ybh_8
  11. Very nice release, I've had it since last week and already mixed it together with some other newer tracks and it really rips Detailed review following!
  12. 100th Monkey! I just love the intro on this track... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR5_PfIAtl8 This one is great too... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wn2oo5Di9Zk
  13. Hahahaha this made my day OT: The new tracks sound interesting enough...
  14. Interesting view! I never looked at it that way (except for the dj'ing) but it does make a lot of sense. Even though dj'ing might be the perform side of electronic music, it yet again is a completely different kind of performing than playing an instrument for instance. That's what makes it special imo. I also think it's ridiculous how some people narrow down the different options of 'playing' music to just be able to play an instrument. Instead, people should learn to embrace everything one CAN do with music without attaching any kind of value-judgement regarding the authenticity of the performance. Every kind of music performance has it's difficulties. I am very glad that nowadays you can choose from a vast array of options how you would like to play or make music, be it playing an instrument, singing, composing orchestral music (etc.) as being the more traditional kinds of 'making' music to dj'ing, producing music using software, analog hardware, etc... as being the more 'modern' kind of 'making' music. And I love them all. Of course, to be able to compose orchestral music some understanding of the instruments involved is essential, but traditionalists seem to forget that producing electronic music requires the same basic knowledge about synthesizers, frequencies, etc..
  15. Wow, he really does have a fantastic sound and the samples sound very intriguing... Curious to hear a full track from him!
  16. What Rotwang said... Music has a lot more dimensions to it than playing an instrument. As long as it has any kind of musical theory behind it, it is music I think.
  17. Been reading a lot of theories on identity construction for my thesis lately so not that much time to read something else... Earlier this year and end of last year I read all A Song of Ice and Fire books available, love them as I expected I would ^^ Probably going to start in A Brave New World by Huxley now and after that I'm going to start in The Thousand Autums of Jacob De Zoet by David Mitchell... And after that I've got another pile of books waiting to be read lol. I also read Luca and the Fire of Life by Salman Rushdie end last year and I really recommend it! It's very imaginative, reads very smoothly and isn't long (As in readable in a day or three if you have the time).
  18. Yes! Totally forgot about them but soundwise they really are magicians ^^
  19. Got these 2 a couple of days ago: Stocked up on some classics ^^ Especially pleased with Radiation by Biot and Spiritus by 100th Monkey!
  20. I have the german edition and I like it a lot. Not so much for the articles, because they are not all of the same quality, but the pictures are amazing! It really does justice to the international scene imo, and it's a great thing to have in your book-collection, definitely recommended!
  21. I just posted my review of the latest Solar Fields album! Pretty weird that no-one had reviewed it yet...
