  1. My tentative steps in electronic music production are posted on this profile. I've been actively studying and trying to write electronic music for a couple of months now. Feedback is always welcome!
  2. Hmmm, the way you portray it penzo makes me really want to dig into Juno again... I always felt them kind of lacking a certain "heaviness", but maybe I really just need to make an effort.
  3. Interesting view. I have always regarded Psychopod-project as the more relentless, complex and crazier counterpart to Koxbox. Faster and heavier... None-the-less both projects are the epitome of psychedelic music imho.
  4. Never been much into Juno Reactor either... But then again I must admit that I haven't listened to their tracks a lot... I have tried a few times, but mostly I put something else on after a couple of tracks. At least with Shango and Into The Infinite... The rest of their albums I haven;t heard before. I DO like Masters of The Universe though. And Koxbox, well, is Koxbox... I love their sound although they are far from my favorite artists. Psychopod is more to my tastes ^^
  5. In a house dating from the Meiji period, that was located in a valley, surrounded by mountains, in the middle of nowhere in Nagano prefecture in Japan. It was a small gathering, but damn the surroundings where so amazing... My only regret is that I never took pictures...
  6. ^ Cool story ^^ interesting to read how you discovered it "by accident"
  7. The worst thing someone who (clearly) didn't know jack about psytrance at all told me was when I had just discovered psytrance. Him: "Psytrance? That's that minimalistic electronic music without beat right?" Me: "Well, it can be minimalistic, but there's definitely a beat, it's dance-music you know." Him: "Dude, you're full of shit, I've heard psytrance before and it has no beat, whatsoever, none, nada, noppes!" I actually tried to explain to him that psytrance does have a beat, but he wouldn't believe me... Wasted 10 minutes of my life on that one... Another fine moment was when I was spinning some Dark at my local student-cafe (Yes I do like to shake people out of their ruts by putting on electronic music they are not accustomed to ). Some guys enter the place when I had I believe it was something by savage scream on: "Whoooo hardcooooooooore! Yeah!" I facepalmed in response. Other than that it's the standard stuff: drugmusic, yadayadayada...
  8. Awesome! I am convinced that the Arronax Album will be a blast! Will it be released on physical media as well? Anyway, good luck with the label, you have my full support!
  9. Hey I have the exact same thing The only negative side though I think, as with all music is, like mars pointed out damage to your ears by listening at high volume for prolonged periods.
  10. To me, Psytrance is the metagenre under which a plethora of subgenre's can be classified such as but not limited to full-on, Goa, psychedelic progressive, dark, suomi, etc...
  11. Yes! Found out about it a couple of weeks ago. Very nice site indeed, and as you say it's a great way to find out where artists like CBL, Solar Fields and Kettel get their inspiration from. I especially enjoy the Solar Fields' mix. Recommended to all ambient-lovers!
  12. Any news on the releasedate yet? Looking forward to this one!
  13. Giving late christmas presents to yourself is soooooooooooooooo underrated.
  14. enjoying some champagne and oysters
  15. Looks awesome! Enjoyed machinarium too, fantastic atmosphere, great puzzles and lovely artwork. OT: I think that if you look at the people listening to psytrance worldwide, the people that listen to goa (be it old or new goa) are in the minority. The big subgenre's of today are without a doubt dark, prog and fullon. (But that's nothing new I guess.)
  16. Seriously? To me, artifact303's Back to Space is some of the best that Suntrip has ever released and was definitely an instant classic to me. Even Antares' and E-Mantra's albums were pretty good imho... But I guess tastes do differ!
  17. I listen to Goa and psychedelic downtempo (mostly ultimae, celestial dragon, twisted and altar records stuff) most of the time. If I'm in the mood I listen to forest, dark, full-on or progressive but those are more exceptions. However I do feel it's necessary to listen to a multitude of styles within psytrance to keep a better look on the big picture, whatever that may be Bottomline is: I love twisted music, but most of all melodic twisted music!
