Yeah, monitor-headphones are both cheaper and more mobile than real monitors, don't you think?

First of all, why are you getting a laptop? You can get a stationary computer twice as good as that laptop for less! =) Unless you're gonna travel around with your gear or something. Anyhoo, I think reason 2.5 +/ cubase sx2 is a good start, as well as a midi-keyboard and a couple of monitor-headphones (they are cheaper than regular monitors and you don't disturb your naighbours ). That's about all you need to get started IMO, no need for workstations yet, just get the feeling goin' and when you're ready to take it to the next step, do so. (: That's all I could think of for the moment!

Oh, that was the bassline? lol, well make it a couple of octaves lower then (; try using a tb-synth with a low frequency too.

Lol, sorry but that sounds terrible! Get rid of that melody-like thingy and replace it with a bassline instead, i think that will sound better.

I think it's i nice track! I can't really pinpoint what genre it belongs to though, but it has a cool beat =) i liked the acid lead that came late on in the track. Couldn't really find any flaws, but then again I almost like everything i hear =)

And you also said something about colliding kicks between 1.10 and 1.20, I didn't hear that thanks a lot! DiMT: I've, as you said, normalised the volumes of the melodies and for the bassline, it's all software (: all you need is patience and some good precise settings. serguei: Well, indeed it's soft (; that was the intention (: i couldn't even imagine ever hearing this style at any party, could you? I can't believe you haven't mentioned "dancing with kadafi", easily one of their greatest tracks as well as Shakawkaw (vibe tribe rmx). Though I think most of their tracks are out of this world, IM is indeed the shiet!
