Sometimes I wonder if you and I have seen the same movie. For starters, Peter Joseph's film GIVES an alternative to our current system in the form of a resource-based economy by looking at the natural needs of people, not money or profit. And please stop talking about Marx, Socialism and Communism. It didn't work, but luckily, here in Europe, we've adapted the system to a more socially "enlightened system" by our social and medical security. So it wasn't all that bad in the end now was it? You fail to see that all the systems that were put in place the last 150 years or so all were systems based on the limited knowledge of that time. The people back then didn't know our resources were finite. To me, all these systems are transitional. The Capitalistic system had it's time, it had a good prospect more then a 100 hundred years ago with the Industrial Revolution. But now, It's primitive, corrupted and dated. Economics is NOT a science, it has NOTHING to do with the natural order of things. It's a game that is manipulated by the most important players. The natural order of things is that it needs to fall, just like the Roman Empire did. They got greedy and lusted in the submission of other people too. To hell with it! I've read some of the posts in the other thread you posted Lemmi. I've read somewhere you thought this film was thought-provoking. What happened in the meantime? Are you protecting the status quo we are in now just for the sake of argument? I haven't read anything that really debunks the moral issue in Zeitgeist, nor the facts. The only thing I know now that some of you learned how to use google, congratulations on that! "But this source says this, bla bla bla" "It's all utter BS, etc..." Take a good look around people. All the things you have in your houses and the things you possess, has gone through the hands of some labourer working for a wage just enough to provide for their families wether fabricating or in distribution, or more likely nowadays somewhere cheaply in some foreign country. They are the backbone of the Capitalistic system and if they start to rise up...well you know... I know at firsthand because I've worked in distribution-warehouses for several years and I still do as a matter of fact, sadly, I still need money. Believe me, these are the folks the people in power wanna keep dumb, deaf and blind. And TBH, who really needs all that sh*t they are trying to sell you anyway?!? Goodnight and Good Luck!

No, he's not real????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! hehe But what a great metaphor! *wink wink* But who is this conspiracy-theorist, the Anti-Christ of the KKKapitalistic system, the New Age hippy bullshitter, Peter Joseph. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw9IHJNB75E

Thanx for posting this Ironsun. I had heard of the Zeitgeist films but never came around to actually watch them. I've seen the one you posted last weekend. The first half told me nothing I didn't know already, and I mean the basic thought that economics is a game, not a science, and that it only serves the wealthy and is being manipulated by bankers and corporations. I simply don't trust this corrupt system which gives you a false notion of freedom, period. It is corrupt as f*ck and should be dealt with as soon as possible. This Capitalistic system is just simply a transition to something better just like communism, fascism, dictatorships, etc was. Why? Because the Earth we are all living in and depending on is being treated like a whore we can use and abuse whenever we feel like it. All in the name of profit. The second part about how to reorganise the planet's system in a resource-based economy was interesting and something that actually made sense, unlike all the aformentioned systems. It's a good idea to start with. Now the only thing we need is for the brainwashed to wake the f*ck up before it's too late. But I'm afraid it has to crash first, well infact, it did 2 years ago. The big banks in countless countries begged for money and all the governments paid, meaning, WE PAID to save THEIR ASSES. Beyond comprehension! Big Finance Is a Monster That's Consuming Our Economic Security

I also had two friends who were obsessed by him. He is a genius. He was influenced by soul and funk legends like Sly Stone, Marvin Gaye, George Clinton, Stevie Wonder and of course James Brown. These were all very talented musicians producing and writing their own music. He used these influences and created a distinctive and original sound. If you like soul and funk there's now way you could get around Prince. The music he makes now hasn't been that compelling but he's Prince man, he doesn't have to prove anything anymore. But he still can give some steamin' hot liveshows and aftershows for his dedicated fans. Wether you like him or not, that's just taste I guess. But you can't ignore his talent.

Agreed. And when more people start changing their lifestyle and live more conscious it'll bring down the system we are now so dependable on. Or it'll just collapse by itself which it did nearly two years ago. I think it's fashionable now to not question the corporations and the system too much by the looks of it. I don't now about you people but I wanna see it go right down, the sooner the better, preferably before the next trend is on sale at the f*cking dollar store.

I would be very happy if more people start critisizing and thinking about the power these multinationals have. If you'd call it "fashionable" then so be it. It's a start, a process to, maybe eventually, a better thought out system for the people and environment. These corporations only goal is to make profits in the shortest term possible. They hypnotise people subliminally with adverts trying to make people actually believe they need all their stuff they are selling. They have no long-term vision whatsoever, they need to survive whatever the costs may be, like for instance redundancies. Money comes first. They endorse short-term gain, it's their reason to be. The sooner people realise this fully, the better. So, I disagree this way of thinking misses the real problem. It's taking out the root of the problem cause short-term gain only truly benefits corporations, especially multinationals and the big banks. Not us. Yes, and...

+ They have been reissued as a double album together. Heavy and energetic street rap, no BS!! Best N.W.A. album!!! MF Doom is indeed good! Roots Manuva! Cee Lo Green's first two albums are very soulful and funky! Public Enemy: The Empire Strikes Black & Apocalypse '91. Ghostface Killah: Iron Man & Supreme Clientele. 50Cent: Get Rich or Die Trying. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PIzn-XtFsA

True. But I can remember some of the good times I've had. Great memories but not sth I like to dwell upon. The time is now! C'est passé, mon ami.

It already happened in Tunesia and Egypt where FB played an important role in the downfall of the dictators. Of course, the new people in charge are gonna adapt. The Military of Egypt, who is in power now, already made an official FB account. So like you said, social networks need to adapt/change, and they will. Hopefully people will continue to organise themselves further in the future so the people and not the politicians will have the power. The spark has been ignited, now it'll need some time to grow into an unstoppable fire.

No, he still visits from time to time. Now that he has his own thread in off-topic it won't be long before he resurfaces

Me love Life of Agony. Their last album Broken Valley with all the original bandmembers rocked. Never got really into death/doom metal. I preferred "crossover"/trash/groove metal and some prog stuff. Pantera is by far my favourite metalband. Nice to see we've got some real metalheadz here.

+1 Karin Dreijer has a very special voice. I love the tracks she did with Royksopp too. Maybe even the best tracks on the Junior album. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1BLzf4kWFM

If spamming was an olympic sport well then you'd probably had won some gold medals. It's a shame they didn't have computers back in the day in Greece. Instead they chose to build the Acropolis and run around the track naked...pffft
