  1. BPC's old tracks have some sort of magic to them, Overbloody Flood comes to mind as one of their most powerful, repetitive, yet awesome tracks!
  2. Which genre are you talking about? Ambient? Some sort of lounge/world hybrid? Psychedelic electronica?
  3. To answer the poll question - nay. Why? (Nay-why ) Well, IM were good at first, as my very first introduction into psytrance, they had this sound that took the most distinct sounds and techniques of psy/goa trance and used-abused them, thus making it very attractive for someone, who wanted to be overloaded with defined weirdness-techniques of goa trance, but with time this overload wears off and you start to notice the real gems in psytrance. There, Id say that IM took the very best, distinctive parts of psytrance(cliche of psytrance?) and made their name with that, I would call it easy-to-digest pop music from realms of real psytrance, at least their first ones were... ...or, at least those tracks that I enjoyed listening to at first, you know, they still sound good, but, IMO, lack the spirit and spirituality(ooops!) and psychedelia/cosmis psychedelia that real psytrance and goa have! Thus, I never gave them second chance once I discovered other artists with more deeper sounds.
  4. Some Psychaos/Joti on Soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/jotisidhu
  5. Hehe, youre still stirring the same shit, arent you ? I mean, where are some new facts regarding release date, comments from them, official information?! Havent seen such information in this thread recently, no?
  6. All the best to you, Joti/Psychaos! Your Perception Of Reality track was among the first psy-trance eye-mind openers for me, loved your style of that era! That Soundcloud sample sounds exactly like Psychaos should, like it so far, cant wait for new releases, both oldies and new tracks! But be warned, expect lots of moaning and praise at the same time, so be strong and work hard to please us all, goa and fullon fans !
  7. Who said anything about money? I didnt. Did you? Using someones else name to get gain popularity is, IMHO, weak. I remember how everyone from Suntrip and Filteria himself were pushing it all the time mentioning how Filteria sounds like Pleiadians or even better(at least technically). If you dont find that odd and wrong to try to market artist in our scene like that, then its your choice. I find it odd and wouldnt want to do any of that myself, wheres the fucking creativity? Youre either good or youre not, why babbling about other bands and comparing your wannabe music to masters to begin with? I repeat, taking someones else name and fame as a core of your own music's promotion is just lame and just shows how an artist lacks creativity and only regurgitates someones else music and name. Good technical skills in such case is the only thing that such "artist" can bring to the table. In that case even chimps could be as creative to some extent. Wheres creativity in that? Is that considered normal?
  8. I will go as far and say that i they ever release new album it might turn out to be total piece of boring shizzle. Just look how much "energy" and "dedication" they put into their live shows when all they do is simply press PLAY button on Ipod !
  9. Another thing - look at Alpha Circuit's Module-Z album - lots of good tracks, other than shit mastering/production it didnt sound like it copied from specific artists, yet he managed to have some nice trance vibe and oldschool feeling to his tracks. Pitty that the sound quality was such a shit, probably the biggest reason why it wasnt popular and didnt sell. I guess Im a bit off-topic with this post.
  10. You clearly took that one sentence out of context and asked me questions that I will never be able to answer to, simply because Ive never said that only wanabe consumerist kiddies listen to new-school and I also never said that newcommers to the scene dont listen to oldschool classics and masterpieces. What I said is that blatantly and shamelessly copying someone or willing to "sound like someone" ie ripping off might be effective towards gaining some fans among people who are new to the psytrance scene and who dont know the difference between Etnica and "shitload of Etnica's influence in ones tracks"! There are also people who always want the latest, the freshest, thats why there is pop culture and thats why I believe such people can be met in every musical genre, they will demand latest and greatest without actually caring or knowing about how the real stuff sounds and what is original and is only weak-inspired copy-cat material, hence the consumerist-kiddies remark. Re-read my last paragraph from which you took my quote, it says exactly that. If an artist wants to pay tribute and show how much this or that music/artist has inspired him then I see no problems in that, its fun, its great and it takes some skill to put it into the way that it sounds like something else, yet doesnt manage to copy it 1:1(which, anyway, is impossible). However, if the whole albums are "isnpired" and sound "borrowed" or "on the wave of someones else popularity with someones else name attached to it to gain hits/plays" then its rather lame and un-creative. Any form of art can be inspirational, but there is fine border between being inspired by and staying creative and being overly-inspired and get stuck in the same sound that youve been inspired by.
  11. Computer still will cost you some money, and some basic midi controller and also some audio card to begin with. Sure, you can do music with only computer, without audio card and/or midi controller. However, it was the same ~10 years ago, even in mid 90's there were first free software synths and trackers, the rest is history, their numbers increased with years. Only thing that differs big time is that back then you most likely couldnt get ahold of brand new computer with acceptable parameters to start mashing your beats together, perhaps some budget desktop setup, but not laptop. Today you can spend 300-400$ if youre in USA and start making beats on a laptop. Or you can spend even less and get yourself 200$ Android slab and start exploring from there, even tho Android is far from musicians choice. But, as I said, I dont believe its the leading cause of explosion of newschool goa/psy artists today. Soundcloud could be one of the reasons and also the fact that everything goes up and down, its natural, if somethings good, it will return when the world is ready for it. We should talk about renaissance of hardware synths with real analog sound generators and how that might affect or re-affect music industry given that in past few years, especially last 1.5 years there have been decent budget analog synth releases by big companies. Will new-psytrancers go this route?
  12. I will reserve my opinion on this, yet another "inspired by Etnica/Pleiadians" producer, I highly disliked how Filteria was marketed and how he presented himself as being "inspired by Etnica/Pleiadians" yet sounded like he/Suntrip wanted to gain more sales and not with much content and "spiritual/cultural" value been there in his tracks. Sorry, my 2c and some will agree with me, some not. I hope this dude does better than this, because there is no grace and fame in being wanabe copycat, wont work for me, might work for consumerist kiddies who want their new stuff and dont listen to oldschool.
  13. All those, pardon my french, shitty youtube clips gives us nothing, just empty hype. Gives us the album AP or just admit that you cant do shit anymoarrr!
  14. Great news, lets see if that ever happens ! Interesting, bit Astrali'sh tho !
  15. Given your logics there could have been no electronic music made with computers back in 90s whatsoever, sorry Rotwang, but this has nothing to do with flood of new artists, technology has very little to do with, sure, computers are now even more affordable than they were 10 years ago, but thats about it. Software is being written for new PC's with more RAM(which those PC's already have or plan to have in coming year or months) and not the other way around - PC's are not built to accommodate demands of more resource hungry software builds. Its all about money and not about how well this or that is being implemented, you make bigger-faster-stronger computer components in order to spur demand, otherwise nobody will buy more RAM, faster CPU and computer company sales, profit and R&D will fall low. Video card market is slightly different segment, higher FPS, bigger resolution, more realistic video rendering engines all add up to user experience. Biggest resource hog is real time effects and VST instruments, no? Or have things changed dramatically during last 10 years?
  16. Exo, Wallstreet is root of all evil!
  17. It aint brief, not at least for internet addicts ! Short sum of it?
  18. Hehe, still weeks to come, make this available in 10 days, will you?!
  19. Everything that sounds good and that gets into my ears-brains. However at home I either tune into local radio stations for some de-electronica dose or listen to psytrance or psyprog or when when I feel like - some psybient. Local pop music on youtube or online also.
  20. Ah, too young, still a long wait for Psynewsers to get your stuff !
  21. Neither Yannis nor Kamarinos sound french to me, probably greekish. Im sorry, InFecTeD_gOa, but those neo-goa producers you mentioned dont even stand close to those who started and defined sound of Goa/Psy trance !
