Eddie Mis - Rabbit Dream (Acix Recordings) 2010 (ACIXCD01) 01. Rabbit Dream 7:21 02. Tell Me a Story 7:14 03. Some Romance 5:19 04. Magic Everywhere 9:17 05. City in the Sky 7:29 06. Who's Tripping 6:03 07. On Plastic 5:52 08. Just Burn 7:25 09. Funk Channel 7:56 10. Space & Time 5:59 11. Energy Fields 5:55 I first heard of Eddie Mis’ music when I started to listen to Israeli trance back in the very early 2000’s. The track that I got the opportunity to get to know and love was the oh-so-famous ‘The X-File’, which today stands as one of the biggest classics out there with plenty of releases (no wonder it stands as a huge classic with so many releases on various compilations through the years) and vivid remixes by acts like Jon the Dentist, Quirk, Xerox & Illumination and others. Also the classic ‘Liquid Troll’ by Chakra stands out as a good example of trippy flavored and liquid feared piece of psychedelic trance music for the fantasy to dive. Both of these tracks originated from his and Chakra’s jointed debut album 'The Promised Land' from 1996. After nearly a decade away from the limelight, with occasional appearance here and there (Funtech's 'Playnice' album in 2000, f.e.), 2010 finally bring an Eddie Mis new album release, and this time all on his own. Gone are the frantic and mad vibes from earlier psytrance works, and in steps the progressive acid house relaxation groove with a smooth dose of psychedelics. For those who expect to encounter killer trance related beats full-on-style should take a step back, because this album consists of 11 intelligent, mature and experimental tracks with patience for the absurd, love for the detail and passion for the slow feelgood tempo. Those who want to experience the experimental view of psychedelic house induced music with weird fields of play and stunning planes of grass, should give themselves the gift of purchasing this trippalicious album released by Eddie's own Acix Recordings (based in The US - SF, California), because it is for sure a gem worth taking the time to get to know and adore. The cover design by Laura (www.lauraworks.com) is as lovely and flavored as the music inside. The 60s vibe is floating nicely with the dream filled rabbits jumping along the wavy colour paths of liquid streams. The production seems flawless with deep basses, nice clear kicks and ticks to tingle your chakras and with enough smart melodies to chill you out, groove you down and smoke you up. I know that I am very grateful for owning this special piece of art, I doubt it will become a well known classic but I will do my bit to make sure people out there knows about its existence. Music like this deserves attention, even if it isn’t fast phased action packed music for the dimwitted ones. So go check out the samples, feel the experimental vibe and dream the feel of floating with 11 rabbits (read tracks) and more then so colours (read details). Recomendation: Highly recommended for keen acid ears and patient party souls!!! Artha - Influencing Dreams (Cronomi Records) 2010 (cronomi003cd) 1. Dubber Nubber 6:50 2. Controlled 10:32 3. Chaos 7:02 4. Saikol 9:18 5. Mystic Change 7:53 6. Vocal Distortion 9:17 7. Bali 9:57 8. Transfusion 9:06 9. Insidelamp 8:51 Artha first got certain recognition for his production skills and vision when he joined a Psynews.org contest to make a Goa track for a free digital compilation. This was in 2002, back when his sound was (naturally) rougher and sort of more energetic if you’d like. As time passed, Michal from Poland, refined his sound and his music became cleverer, more twisted and he advanced in his hallucinogenic trance motion with subliminal patterns. After years without almost anyone daring to pick up and release his masterful music, Cronomi Records teamed up last year with Ektoplazm.com and finally decided go full throttle and release a free digital EP named ‘Fluori Dolby’ (download it for Free here) which managed to create a stir in the psychedelic trance community. This release quickly grew in popularity and demand since it had feelings of lost magic and forgotten rituals. His style was a long sought after imitation of how real emotional and complex Goa trance was supposed to sound and feel, it was like someone had released 'Hallucinogen 3’ under a different alias. Ok so here it is, in blunt words. This album is a MASTERPIECE. It has all the grooves, the turns and trance-flows a psychedelic explorer searches after when it comes to the Goa in trance. If you’re already familiar with Hallucinogen's earlier work, like the Twisted album released in ‘95, you will quickly realize how beautiful this full album release is. And this I say no matter how similar it is to Hallucinogen with some Shpongle influences here and there, or should I say inspiration. Influencing Dreams is fantastic trance music with beautiful cosmic voyages that absolutely deserves and craves your love and attention. For years, since Hallucinogen released his second album 'The Lone Deranger' in 1997, people around the globe had been crying for a third album from the master (Simon Posford). Well people, a Hallucinogen copy or not, here it is, this album is for you! Ok, so enough about the fact that it sounds very much like Hallucinogen. This album has of course a lot of originality from Artha’s own heart and emotions. It’s filled with beautiful melodies and sexy tricks. It is satisfyingly lengthy, giving you a proper trip for the money spent on purchasing an original copy. What seems to lack in this release might be what Artha used to have before becoming professional, a tad more power/energy and rougher pads - a stronger identity and better coherency would also be appreciated.. The album artwork seems cheap, but really it's super trippy! The track names however, give me little to no inspiration. Though one can argue that track names means nothing, I think differently because for me names and art will and may boost the impression of a track or an album, it becomes an extended identity of the ,,product”. The artwork has been cleverly created by one Tomasz Rozynski. I like the design scheme where you can hold it against the light and see how the front and back picture sort of morphs nicely into each other. Recomendation: A couple of days ago while for the first time listening to the album, I fell in love. This was passion in music I had been missing. The following night I had the most extraordinary ‘in space with alien races’ sort of dream. When I woke up, I had to ask myself; Influencing Dreams, really? … Mastering is well done by Colin Bennun (OOOD). Everything is super, and that extra bass-drive in some of the tracks is nothing but stunning to get driven with. If you’re a fan of melodic Goa trance with intelligence and psychedelic drive, there is no doubt- GET THIS ALBUM! Yo guys ! I got this release, bought it because it was the only Transdriver album I could find, and I thought Vasily Aka. Psykovsky was a part of the project (still). In this album he is not, but the album is still great, got a lot of classical music melodies and it works wonders, especially the night CD. You see, one CD is night driven with more psycore elements, without being dark killargh chainsaw music. And the Daytime CD is luvely with a more full-on approach, I guess they both have that full-on flavour in psyland without being chemical induced crap. I love this release, but don't listen to it frequently, I morte or less pick it out of the CD shelf from time to time to get a kick, and it does kick nicley I say check it out : PS. after a few years of owning it, it is still growing on me and revealing more of its magic. Which I like, a lot!

Hi again people, I would like to add some information that I forgot to mention in my review. This release is really well thought out with important details for collectors and DJ's. First of all this contains a 6 paged booklet (fold it out) with beautiful art and some writings. It is also included a DJ-slip which is (unfortunately) rare these days and that is definitely something to appreciate. Ps. About the luxurious whore sentence (Ninth track), I would like to add an edit inspired by folks from the psymusic forum: I should have thought harder on my luxurious whore comment. its way better with 'glow in the dark tits' and yes this is 'illuminated tit psytrance' with extremely hard nipples, not 'oiled whore psytrance' - Very sexy and colourful in the brightest and yummiest fashion. .. Naughty review .. Very naughty music. bOm..!! to the Devils Mind Crew for their hard work and effort in giving us something, giving us art that will last for years and years! And always remember; 'To talk about music is like dancing to architecture' :)

V/A - Down and Dirty [Compiled by DJ DRX3] (Electronic Dope Records) 2010 (EDR-CD 003) 139 bpm 01. Clearness - Out Of Your Mind 145 bpm 02. Waio vs Stocks - Revolucion Makinaria 145 bpm 03. Ion & Combinations - Groove Criminals (Peace Maker Rmx) 145 bpm 04. Intelligence - Ares & Prymatech 145 bpm 05. Brainiac - Fake 145 bpm 06. Ground Control vs Stereo Plug - Flaming Fist 145 bpm 07. Mind D - Omn Way (Remake) 142 bpm 08. Mind Controller - LHL 128 bpm 09. 7th Reef - Back To Earth Electric Dope Records first came into peoples conscious light with the release of the down-tempo/freestyle debut album by ‘Psyknights’, which quickly found itself a core of fans in the underground scene and established them self of being an interesting label to keep an eye on. Unfortunately not much would spring out of EDR’s release catalog and it would pass a couple of years before they again released a physical compilation with hard knocking full-on psychedelic electro tracks boarding to psychotic. This is a compilation filled with Down and Dirty electro Psy-Trance influenced tracks, so get ready to bend and twist your skull and give your feet a proper blister workout. Depending on taste, this contains 9 hard knocking tunes by mostly unknown names within the scene, which is great. It’s always nice to see newcomers and to listen to their offerings. The first track is a rugged one with flat-liner sort of apparatus sounds making your heart jump and pump. This is sexy electro Psy-Trance with power grooves and hard knocking beats – which sort of lays the foundation for the rest of the album. *** Second track is a Powerball as well, with some nifty samples bragging about how cool the effect is with harmonics and change. The track drives steady with energetic pads and riffs in the synthesizer and elevated sounds. *** Third track play on a classic string, weak in the distance, strong in the foreground. Beats are pumping and the robotic voice sample is playing with your impressions while a more classic melody in the bassline/pad jump in reminding you that the 90’s dance Pump up the Jam anthems are not far away. ** Fourth track is a more mellowed down track with a fuller-on vibe and a subtle minimalistic effect range. Also this will introduce changing basslines in the 90’s dance style with breaks and lifts and progression. ** Fifth track starts with the typical muffled bass emerging from the depth with a hollow pointed ball leading the way until the beat stabilizes and becomes generic and driven by some cute enough effects that floats on top of the track. Lifts are present, breaks are there, and the cool factor is hard with some nice and mellow strings followed by rougher pads. Grind your teeth it’s party time! *** Sixth track provides more mysterious atmospheres and cave like windy moods with some electro vibrated bats circling around. The tempo and effects are all in the vein of the compilation and the melodies so. Breaks are present; yes this compilation is all about the Down and Dirty electro grooves. ** Seventh track leaves massive Déjà Vu’s as it again is about the electro power, the rough pads and the breaks followed by chemical lifts. This track has some nice work on the echoing and do play on tight wires to create that extra tension. It also has a nice mellowed out part at the with some strange voice sample chanting something. *** The number eight track follows the more mellowed out vibe instead of the immense power stroked electro sting while still being electro to the bone. It has some sexy elements with female voice samples that are for sure to get your dimpling sweaty on a hot and lush summer night by the pool. *** The ninth and last track cools down with slower beats per minute and lingering voice samples from a snaxy woman singing about getting back to earth almost get’s my juice going. It’s a nice and calm number easy to be enjoyed by most with a margarita in the hand. Not really my glass of drink as I prefer beer and brown booze. But nice enough for girls in short skirts wanting to shake their rump. *** Personally I think this music is terrible, I don’t like the electro vibe unless I’m wasted like a kite with a hot lady shaking her ass towards my crouch. All tracks are in essence nicely chosen and put together with firm flow and progress in evolution. The cover art is nice and cool promising exactly what it offers. - Taste will forever be taste, so this is not for me. Score: 2.6 / 6 Stars favorite tracks, not really. ^yeah I love this and the debut album of Shulman, real beautiful and allienated music with tons of mystical smiles. Too bad his later offerings for me became too much and didn't sooth my taste at all, even though their more complex and well done, I would for ever preffer Shulmans two first albums.

mystery of the yeti is there anything else like it
psytones replied to technosomy's topic in General Psytrance
I guess, but can't really come up with a suggestion atm. Did you know: That if you play the track with the Yeti mushroom samples in sync with the video of the original conference about shamanic use of drugs (can’t remember the name of the vid, the guys name or synching now, anyone .. ?) you will get a very cool experience? Mattman, a member on this board showed it to me one high night, I was obviously blown away. Like syncing dark Side of the Moon with Wizard of Oz kind of thing. *never done that, will have to one day! peace ~:^) -
Atma - Beyond Good and Evil (Geomagnetic.TV) 2006 (GEOCD017) 01. We Will Rise Again (7:55) 02. Beyond Good & Evil (7:45) 03. The Other Side (7:38) 04. Deviant Behaviour (8:20) 05. The Ganzfeld Experiment (8:11) 06. The Doors Of Perception (7:57) 07. Psychedelic Visionars (8:00) 08. Eternal Cycles (8:36) 09. There Is Still Hope (7:34) Andrei Oliver Brasovean from Romania was a pioneer of electronic music in the Eastern-Europe region. In the early 90’s he would create Techno and Trance music only to start producing Goa-inspired trance tracks in ‘95-’96. Here he would start the creation of psychedelic fest communities with small parties for the trancevestits in his area. He quickly achieved recognition for his splendid music and live performances around his own country and globe. Atma’s music is in the vein of pleasant FullOn beats with charming melodies, nice samples and party to the groove. His approach on making a nice ride for the listener with sprinkling flow and heighten observation is what makes his debut album, Beyond Good and Evil so enjoyable in the first place. Granted the album may become fast uninteresting as there isn’t much depth and complexity to sought after, but with charm he definitely manages to make up for his own flaws and boredom. The best track is easily the title track with its beautiful and longing melodies, and pleasant tempo. I should mention that Fragletrollet/Unknown Cause did an unofficial edit to this track where he actually managed to raise it a couple of points towards the high sky. It was supposed to get released but never happened and today it seems this track is lost beyond rediscovery. Another nice track is the 4th with its hypnotizing and subtle way of entrancing the listener/dancer. It has a good drive and the effects used tickle the heart. Overall this is very nice Full-On album with loads of charm and drive. It is unfortunately too boring in the length to keep me occupied with its dimensions because it contains few surprises and is very predictable and imagination less. But, it is for sure a nice release to have in the collection for times to come and moments to be enjoyed. Besides his psychedelic trance project, Andrei also works as a music composer and sound engineer for more commercial music bands within House, Dance, Pop, Rock and Hip-Hop, and is frequently involved in original film score productions, theater and orchestral productions. This way he is able to fully use his skills and put food on the table and clothes on his back. There is a reason of why people like Andrei manages to have a success, and the reason is that they, or he manages to expand his own horizon, never letting his skills go to waste in only focusing on one style, one style of music. We all know that to make a living out of producing Psy-Trance is a very difficult thing, so the smart ones uses their talents in varies projects to stay afloat. The cover art is very beautiful with it's circle of Zodiac signs and lime green variations with cool blue flooring. Kudos. Battle of the Future Buddhas & Ka-Sol – Masters of Outhouse (Devils Mind Records) 2010 (DVSMCD005) 01. BATTLE OF THE FUTURE BUDDHAS - drums in the deep (148 BPM) 02. KA-SOL - north south (143 BPM) 03. BATTLE OF THE FUTURE BUDDHAS - kamprezzorztrezz (145 BPM) 04. KA-SOL - shut up alien (144 BPM) 05. BATTLE OF THE FUTURE BUDDHAS - monotono (148 BPM) 06. KA-SOL - riddle part I (144 BPM) 07. BATTLE OF THE FUTURE BUDDHAS - morron (146 BPM) 08. KA-SOL - riddle part II (144 BPM) 09. CHURCH OF THE NEW AGE HIPPIE DISCO SHIT - hangman (136 BPM) 1. Tribalism is the introduction vibe of heavy basses, lush voices and disturbing creatures. They gather up their sound to fly in breaks with a swaying spin on the acid lines until heavy and ultra cool basslines kick in to give you power from the future Buddha’s battle frenzy. It’s truly inspirational the way the track flies across meadow fields of gigantic monsters praying to angels and demons alike to give a real flight. It’s heavy, sturdy and damn nice! 2. As time ticks, my mental projection starts to flicker. Rumbling ideas, fanatic sincere. Working elements to heighten the clicks and stumbling kicks. This track takes it’s time to build up the contrast of playful sounds and entrancing behavior. When it starts its steady and controlled, never to lose the flow of synthetic blow. Melodies are sharp, letting the rested become awake. The energy is in control, never letting it go. Attention seeking buildings are being raised, while smaller houses are to be urinated inside. 3. Zip up your pants, let’s get it on and dance. Trembling floors are shutting the outer doors. Rumbling basses shake the roof until stars become... Lingering strings caresses the inner redemption, let the diving begin. 4. Lunaticicity frightens, rambling stereo noises confuses and hooked patterns with steam full attributes dunks the massive floor with hard knocks and funky flows. The effects are all quirky and sharp like we have become very used to in the sound image of Ka-Sol. The basslines are as always beautiful arranged and cemented only to caress your eardrums so that the mind floats in trance and a feeling of wellbeing while the sharpened sounds sets you off, holding you in a drowsy awaken state of something that stimulates the comfortable bliss. 5. Echo felt caves with drums of a decade inside a progressive sphere. Mysterious gloom filters my non existing womb. Rumbling essence of the self effected fashion of monotones. The vibe is floating low like fog across the forestry fields where a weapon of armor is needed for protection and seduction., the techno is mechanical and so are your thoughts, work with me and see the shined elements of progress and love-fest become intense, beautiful and trollish. What else can one control without becoming manipulated and dull? 6. Closing in, monsters in-between. Gnarling throats in distant thoughts where gothic flavors haunt the spirits of progressive goadelica from the land of sWEEDen where some has been to see the sacred forest. Riddle me this riddles me that, riddle me a kiss, riddle my hat, oh yeah that’s phat. Where can we go to caress a dove (?) Please show me true love. 7. I can hear my inner voice shaking; the kick makes my head clear from fear. Synthesizers glows alongside the wind. Tempo on the rise to take you deep inside a mental case, tempo on the low-flow to take you deeper inside a glow. Aqua like drops smoothen the downward spiral to extended fire rolls. The comfortable kings and staggering rings, oh my... What an evolutional trick to dance the trance. For becoming king is nothing to reach, for who wants to sit with a heavy crown of bling on their swollen head. 8. Monsters at large, large monsters. The riddle continues the question remains; what is the answer to a riddle not fully understood, maybe one day I’ll get the ‘Ah, I see now’. Harsh times flips our heads, harsh times gets our shit together, there is no time for joking around inside nonsense, only time for fun rhymes of dysfunctional rights. This is a tiring track yet very soothing like a lot of Ka-Sol’s tracks. I only got his ‘Fairytale’ album released on Suntrip, though I recognize fully his sounds, tempo, haste, smoothness, soothing skills in thrill and damaged attributes of psychedelic realities. 9. Inside a circle sits magicians of sound. They realize how gospel influenced their spirit is, they call them self a church, a gathering, a place to worship the New Age Hippie Disco Shit Aka. Psytrance. The spectacle they make, the sounds they manage to wake is intense, controlled and seductive like a luxurious fractalize woman with shiny 'glow in the dark tits', it's like illuminated psytrance, blasting quality with extremely hard nipples, not 'oiled-up whore psytrance'. - Loose flow and tight knobbing skills. This is battle of the hippies, battle of the wise. Recommendation: Personally I have known about the BotFB’s for a long time without really getting to know their albums and music. It’s a shame really, because they are giants in this scene of ours, giants to be respected, giants who don’t really give a flying duck about the plastic sound, the overproduced quality - As long as the track works its magic, it can sound as it does. And I agree fully. Ka-Sol, another giant (It used to be a band of three magicians, now Christer is the only Ka-Sol member left, for now...) has made half the album, while the last track is collaboration between them many. I dig this to the max; it’s powerful, deep, driving and really fun at times with harsh strokes. It has maybe a lack somewhere but I can’t point them out now for the mysteries of Masters of Outhouse will have to reveal and unfold before me with more listens and experiences. The sound used in all tracks by both BotFB and Ka-Sol is in total sync, so expect the overall sound to have unity and you might be used to them from earlier releases by Ka-Sol. When I first saw the beautiful artwork by Illumination Design I immediately thought this was some masterly done stuff, and reading inside the booklet I quickly found out that this is a sculpture made by Michael Christian and the picture is taken from the Burning Man Festival in 2007. Anyway the cover art is super, and I love the humoristic yet very powerful edition of the Outhouse with some guy, maybe advocating to the beats about his right to take a trippy leak. Who knows? This release is really well thought out with important details for collectors and DJ's. First of all this contains a 6 paged booklet (fold it out) with beautiful art and some writings. V/A – Moon Station (Moon Station Records) 2009 (MOONS001) 01 Space Shaman - Katedra 02 Overdream - Throughout The Time 03 oCeLoT - Levitation 04 Kraft - From The Earth 05 Nyama - Waves 06 Medea - Hellbound 07 Aku Aku - HoHo 08 RED - Mentality 09 Phobos&Deimos - Moon and Sun 10 Glooex - AnyWay Space Shaman - Katedra: Trembling anticipation, howling ambience and rattling gristle. Space sneaks its way towards the net while holy rooms fill their pulse with ghostly monks and smoke filled booms. Sharp stings push the growling suspicion out to a tennis court of cosmic play. The build takes its wonderful time. There is no rush nor place to reach for time stands still, while the rush rushes over your awe... Beats gather in flickering motions of scattering sense, how lush it is, so free in space while on a firm track to a station far out in space without gravitational lace. Harsher tones scrape the face, time to fly hard, time to take control and dive in the deep. What a wonderful track, I love the long intro with its multiple builds without any rush what so ever, it all feels so good while the plane scrapes its belly on the soft surface of the sandy moon. I wish it would never end - the feel, the rise, the sounds and groove. Space Shaman is the alias of Alexander from Moscow. It is told that this guy was given radio-receivers as a kid instead of toys, sometimes. What and where he contacted is not possible to say; but that he has been in some alien contact there is no doubt of because his understanding in building sub-consciousness feelings is clear and pretty evident. For more music by this Shaman, one can check out his duo with mister Batov, also from Russia – called ‘Neutral Ethos’. ********* Overdream - Throughout The Time: Overdream is personal favorite act out there in the ever expanding trance with psychedelic motions for me. They proved them self more than worthy with their beautifully crafted and fun oscillated album from 2008, Wonderwise. Here presented on this strong compilation ‘Moon Station’ they have given us a track about how one can aurally make the senses travel through time and space as this track might make time travel possible. The track has the lovely Overdream sound and keeps going far; so far it puts you for a moment in a loony bin with mental carnivals and on a fun filled ride of rollers and coasters. As well known for some, Overdream consists of the married couple Makus and Dana Do. They ventures from the land of Ukraine and are one of the most promising acts out there in my ears. The amateurish yet charming vibes of their present tracks can and will only grow in wideness, power, strength and intelligence. As long as there is a certain harmony of this fine couples galactic home, they will for sure be able to provide us with more and more tracks where only the outer stars of our universe might stop them. After all, aim for the stars, land on the Moon Station! ******** oCeLoT - Levitation: Cheering cuts, driving nuts. Moody slings wrangling voices in your tickled ear of how conferment and whisper, where does it linger. Up or down, there or here? Breaking beats and sliding organs with powerful effects, never getting wired never falling; only rising to a point of near levitation in fascination. To be left in a spot, to think about the lot is something oCeLoT with his oscillate will sense a lot. Now twist that knot! One of the acts in this scene with an intelligent and unafraid voice is defiantly this character. He travels the world, lives the dream and makes music he can put his balls in front of if ever needed to be defended. Few like this guy have the mind bending capability of releasing twister albums after twister albums of self control, heavy doses of psychedelia and reflection in deflection. Aaron, hats off to your selection. ******** Kraft - From The Earth: Drilling spaceships in fantastic voyages space beams travel in light and tunnels. Drilling beats knocks your feet; travel comes far when you’re stuck in a bar. Keep on powering; make yourself ready for the flight of slight delight. Track struggles to get it on, the drilling is fun. Effects fly here and there never realizing the fear it scares without tears. Some drums to settle the thought about where to go, where to take our spacecraft, will we go far from earth, what hypersniper effects will take us there, far from earth, far from fun? Angry triple drums, crashing computers, slandering electrodes, hammering beats. Has the travel settled are we on our way, to where we go far from fun? Can we get some hyperspace...?.. Ok so let me be fair, some of the effects brings on some strings of beautiful lights, colours and fun, but all in all this track is struggling too much, maybe part of its charm, the never ending fight to get it right. This is an act concentrating on the Kraft, the Techno feel of Psytrance. A man who was deeply inspired by the psychedelic community and its roots of India. **** Nyama - Waves: Now this I personally find amusing. When I first got to listen to this album real stoned, I was amazed by this track; it flew so far, so hard. It took me on a wild ride of intergalactic travel, fast, intense and very cool. The rush of being transported through the black mass in our universe made me think that this track is taking me far from home. Especially when the daggering layer comes on by the 03:45 mark, here the track has a power to truly fly you away, far away. When I gazed at the cover reading what this marvelous tracks name was, I read ‘Far From Earth’, and I laughed, my god I lolled, it was so thrilling because that was the thoughts I had while lying there being moved without moving. I thought it was a perfect title for my experience. Only much later I discovered that this track was not named what I thought, it was named ‘Waves’, which is also very nice and reflecting... This guy, Jan guy from Germany who I share a name with, is a project with some good potential and we’ll be looking out for more tracks though I have a feel I might become a tad disappointed in the long run. Most tracks of his as I understand come to life while having fun at the mixing table which is and should be very normal, throwing ideas to it and others. I wish him the best of luck. Ten points for the drive, ****** stars in total. Medea - Hellbound: Madea takes the insane to a whole new level on this compilation, as the middle man, he has a clear responsibility to shake and choke the mental cage with some demented sounds and heavy builds and blips. The bass is rolling and the atmosphere is more than disturbing yet in a sick way, extremely pleasant because of its melodic turns and swirls. It’s nice to get your bunkers out on the beach sometimes to freshen the stench of one’s crowded mind. Hellbound is a hard track, or should I say a harsh track with mental illnesses for the lovely ones. It’s not overly stupid so it gets away with the sickness. I should mention that after a rough start of loosing ones precious identity, he, Medea makes it so that he gets the lost angry, makes it gather its shit and turn on, tune in and bedaubing, drop Out! .. Well, almost at least. It has some very nice potential. This Konstantine guy from St. Petersburg could just as well be a nutter born around a leaky nuclear reactor because this is like drinking radioactive mud which will turn you into a glowing zombie with squeaky joints. But don’t worry! Dance around it with flowers and joy because as we know, glowing zombies are fun at parties, but will rarely get a good grab unless you stand real still and let it. By that time your zombie actions deserves the glow it will manifest on you. ***** Aku Aku - HoHo: It is time to meditate the moon closer to the sun. Make the earth rotate just a little bit faster with more fruitiness and liveliness. It is time to gather the whispering noia, the beats of vegetarian soya. It has hard thumping beats with medieval klakkering sounds, rushing wind and splashing liquid with insecticide grinds. Neurons are being lid, strings are pulled and caressed like a... Wait; is this a continuing of track 5? What planet have we landed on, are we far from the moon, will we be back home soon? I hear it, back there behind the scratching sounds and crazy basslines. I hear the harmony, the fruitful forest, ah what a beautiful place, is it Earth? Now this guy from Israel started out with a talent and ear for the psychedelic madness as a 14 year old kid. His taste was always curious about the darker and deeper realms of pie and trance. Now at the age of 23 he is producing and spinning his music around to people just waiting for those crazy moments of bliss, and sometimes, piss. ***** RED - Mentality: As Iris the Dj guides you through her compilation of deep psychedelic space flights, you get a sense of awe for the work she’s put into it with thought, feeling and gut. The flow is mere perfect, the tracks go along like silk and spiders and the power is forever present to a Moon Station. In the eight track by RED you are getting the feeling of finally getting somewhere after a few tracks with a long and confused travel. The basslines, the snickering gnome is clearer and more evident, the hold is on. A lot of this beautiful music can be considered as spectacular architecture (pff just look at the artwork on this album by Ihtianderson and you should quickly get my drift); hence the expression ‘Talking about music is like talking about architecture’ is total bullocks in my mind. One can and should observe beautiful architecture, but with some imagination of communication it should also be possible to talk about its lines, structure, forms and hold. This track is made by a former architect student whom was born in St. Petersburg where the architecture is proud with history and spirit. This music holds the same, as it starts off by being like the former tracks only to reveal an inner structure of angelic particles and lifting sensation for the ambience lover, which with Iris’ flow is a good sign of tunes to come. ******* Phobos&Deimos - Moon and Sun: The Moon, the Sun… The build is exiting, alluring and curious of where to be lead, where to step. Personally I love this track only to fast become tired of it, it’s not perfect, but I love the key ideas, the mysterious elements of its melody, screaming builds and haunting gasps. This is tough mystique with a hint of childishness which is really to be enjoyed though it’s not so completed as one would hope, the compositions can at times ruin the great and lost feel it gives – It has flaws, we all have flaws. But no matter what, this track has elements, stages and alluring tricks to catch you in its web of haunting beauty. Phobos & Deimos for me clearly sounds like a night project focusing on driving out ones inner phobias and demons. From Greece this duo arises with a passion for the strange, the dark and the light. Watch out for these guys and their HSS Records, they will for sure tremble your bleeding heart and thump your stomping feet. ******* AnyWay - Glooex presents to us the finishing track, and it’s the most powerful track in sense of emotions in its lingering melody, of unease and ecstatic joy. I would like to repeat what I said about the former track to this number. Difference is some humored sounds which bounce around to lighten the spirit of all the harsh travels that has been given throughout the Moon Station journey presented by the lovely Miss Iris. This is a beautiful track. ‘nuff said. This guy from Moscow, Russia has a lot of beautiful and true inner emotions of light catching propellers and driving steam. The cream is to be found at its center, its plexus. There is something about this thrilling movie-score wave which gets to my longing emotion every time. Last I heard something like its mystique in score was on Shpongle’s ‘Walking Backwards through the Cosmic Mirror’ track. It’s about the suspense; the thriller moment of our moping expression as we try to hold on to that almost lost light of insane fight, because in the end, this is filled with positivity in heart and joy in energy. ********** Recomemendation: Yes. Buy it, if not for the music, get it for the artwork alone, it's more psychedelic then your granma's soft skin! Let me give you a score: 69/100, and that’s a sexy score. Favorite Tracks: 1(!!), 2(!), 3(!), 5, 8, 9, 10(!!) In the late 90’s a Makus character from Ukraine of astronomical magic ventured into the world of psychedelic trance with that extra passion in the spikadelika. In 2006 a match made in the cosmos where to be born as Makus and his beloved Dana Do formed what would become, Overdream. Overdream is a beautiful collaboration between two souls, two lovers of two planets (Mars and Venus). This is a celebration of two people with a passion for the psychedelic and a curiosity for the trance and the magic of holy dance. With a shamanic approval and Avatar Records interest, they finally in 2008 released their mighty debut of wonder and wise. This is their jungle, their flair, their power and stare. This is their baby, their musical journey, their fantasy in shamanism and colours that shine. Join me as we venture through nine compassions in an almost hectic suit. Overdream - Wonderwise (Avatar Records) 2008 (AVA051) 1 Wonderwise 7:52 2 Sunrise Mind Trick 7:45 3 Fiji Island 8:13 4 Extraterrestrial Travellers 8:34 5 Mista Twista 8:02 6 Aqua Boga Djerba 8:24 7 Daisy Limonade 7:49 8 Animated Mess 8:08 9 Sacrosant Toucan 7:51 1. Spinning elements builds the sound pushing out the beats as they are made out of singularities only to become frequent spacemen of talented shaman of electronically wonderwise never rolling a random dice for guidance. The beats are comfortable while carrying the amaze of sounds surrounding your astral being. Glittering stars wanders so far, sharp leads takes the need to feed on coolness and some haste makes sure the flight is weightless in fluorescence room-booms. ***** 2. As the mirror bends the sun rises with tricks in its flickering voice of meditative madness. The beats are heightened in tempo and the mood is more confusing with its basketak (to get a real hold as in a fight) while the leads are strong, never gone and rises while becoming distant as they surround you together with many other sounds creating what this album is all about, trance inducing states of pleasure in teeth grinding manners while playing on soft notes to create that extra angel wing. The melody at the end that finally comes after a long and tricky sunrise for sure flies your spirit away to blissful glimmers of flickering light. BEautiFULL. ****** 3. On Fiji Islands you are introduced to ‘the American way of life, on the threshold of the golden 60’s. Colored, style, comfort, utility and convenience. Recreation, fun... These seems to be the ultimate desires of today, tomorrow and for the years to come …’ Swirling centrifuges travel the beats, dunk’a-dunk the beat goes as shimmering effects on mushroom moods strikes your nerve-cells in that fashion we like. Something as confusing as this will always perceived as being magnificent and beautiful in all its colours and light with the dark matter combining it all for travelers on sunshine. Funny to get a very twisted take on a more or less typical Arabic melody with imaginary belly dancers and rotating pulses moving around with starching and barking. **** 4. Computerized bleeps, chanting visitors with Extraterrestrial Travellers clicking their thoughts in exhorting manners, building suspicions to a breakpoint of massive hysteria where birds and jungle aliens gather in more energized madness... All of these tracks have a strong jungle shaman with alien transcendence and fluorescence power to them, but the background layers in this track makes it extra evident. And after a nice build we get some Eastern European melodies (dare I say Ukrainian melodies?) for the head to shake on and feet to groove by. What a wonderful story telling gift these two lovers have. ***** 5. Hey hey greet the aliens in Latin America... Massive kicks and daggering side effects with sharp sintering sounds seem to be coming out together with hot fumes and playful sprouts decorating the otherwise abandoned fields with much life and pleasant duration. The sound effects as always on these twister tracks of Wonderwise really makes you fly because of their power to swirl around you so firm and fast in its hallucinogenic manner that gravitation almost seizes to exist. **** 6. Aqua Boga Djerba introduces bubbling vortex, melting poles and swinging masses asking for your divine attention. Calm is the play, sturdy is the walk with howling energies trying to get up and stay. Moist crisp in bamboo sticks trying to make a melody in its humble corner. As the water based life forms echoes inside a jungle cave, an eastern instrument of bended eyes plays a tune encouraging the stick-player to feed the confidence with drippier play without so much care for failure. ***** 7. OOoohhh so powerful the rolls have become, like a nuclear threat of some kind. ‘Picking up a lot of yellow, must be daisies. Lock on target, men!’ Rockets are fired, blasting the disco out to endless party moods. I am unsure of what effect, color or whatever these guys are using, but I love the, pitching”, fading” and flangering” of the anti-gravitational effects that swirls around, they make the flight so powerful and energetic with its uplifting blinks of love and fantasy. Love it! ****** 8. Talking people with laughing joy, throwing stones in water filled caves for future raves. Softer approach, silence creeps until the beat powers the showers of magnificent flowers. Crows ‘krah-ha’ a voice and the drum gets affected by moist. Swirling sounds open the ventilations only to throw you into its deep end of quicksand. Blocks of funky chunks acts as lifeguards only to drag you inside a metalized playground of ‘Yeah baby!’ Rugged stuff, this is diffidently not a bluff. Indians around their camp talk about the champ as heavier synthesizers grab the hold of the bold and curses the melody with a pleasurable trump of thump, only to be guided back in the cave of laughter and fun. ****** 9. As the end nears, the final tune is something to admire and desire. The beats and energy of sounds are thicker in a way, melodies are quicker in presence and the heavy gets tougher with bolstering moods and motherly charm. Tribalization of the higher education is near at hand and the gathering of lightworkers, People of the Heart, Rainbow Tribes, Cosmic Families, Warriors of Light, Old Souls, Star Seeds, Ancient Ones and Servants of the Mothers are forever presence in its beauty and truth, may them shine in their quest to realize what is, that paradise is here on Earth. ******* Recommendation: Overdream uses a lot of the same tricks or builds in the tracks of Wonderwise, with the track-introduction where it swirls the beat manifestations up to a clearer view only to continue to a point where the whole track has swirling twisters playing with the sounds spinning them around in every angle possible to imagine to a breathtaking climax where all sense of self seems lost and colours totally emerges in hefty emotions to sensational behaviors. And yeah, they manage to create a wonderful trance like state, it’s nothing to miss! Would also like to mention that I really like the voice of Makus (?) like in the second track. His effective voice-effect is spread around the album and it puts some personal charm to the whole pack. I love and absolutely dig all the tracks though some for, um, more commercial reasons because they (like the ninth track) stand more out with catching melodies and/or effective twists for the mental fist. Then again, we all know how tracks like these are the tracks you get fastest tired of only to make you realize how powerful that other track you really didn’t notice actually is in its more subliminal manner; If you know what I mean... All in all, want something special, fun, energy driven and totally shamanic in its fluorescence paint, go get this release, it should wow you because it for sure managed to Wow me then and still does so today. And yes, the artwork is sooooooo nice, and it suits the music soooooo nice!! Super duper work, Marcos and Rangoon Some keywords: Uplifting, magical, trance inducing to the max with trippy snax, exiting and shamanistic in junglistic fluorescence. Exhilarating, all tracks is about the build, the layers and the Overdream melodies and power. Some sort of score: 5.33 out of 7 stars* Where to buy and other links: Avatar records: http://www.avatar-records.com AvatarSpace: http://www.myspace.com/avatar_music OverdreamSpace: http://www.myspace.com/overdreammusic OverdreamDisco: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Overdream+(2) Psyshop: http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/ava/ava1cd951.html Saikosounds: http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=7664 Wirikuta: http://www.wirikuta.at/web66/product_detail.jsp;jsessionid=BIMHNPLCFHOC?showDetail=212284 Beatport: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/home/detail/1/beatport#app=a60a&a486-index=3 beatspace: http://beatspace.com/dettagli/dettaglio.asp?id=4667 More um shamanic reviews: http://www.myspace.com/psytonesmusic

Principles of Flight – Smash EP (Timecode Records) 2010 (TCDIGI002) 01. Smash 09:59 02. Bubble Up 07:52 After the critically acclaimed second album Chaos Opera by PoF released on the honorable SA record label Timecode Records in 2009, PoF is back with a planned series of digital EP’s (so I have read) to please the grease of nighttime lullabies wanting some glitch-techno inspired PsyTrance with balls of crunch-infested mechanical steel and a heart of organic chaos. The EP starts out with the title track named Smash (T1), which is a pretty suiting description for PoF’s latest tracks/sound because of their smashing attitude and raw power with a beautiful flower. The Smash track begins with ambience and melodic mystery to catch your curiosity about what’s to happen in the land of strangeness, building the suspension for your pleasure. As the beat gathers the glitch rises to wider horizons and extreme beat manifestations starts to roll in heavy manners. This track has such lovely and bouncy beats that it might make you cum right there on the mental dancefloor. The vibe is creepy with thumping basslines scraping off scarecrows and other slime infested creatures. Effects are beautifully arranged making one smile as it was sunshine in the ash of technodomes. The story telling is what we are used to with the creations of PoF, adventures, interesting and extremely exhilarating with jumping steps in loony places deep within your state of loco. ‘Oh what fun it is to run along the sounds of these smashers of thrashers. And when the welcoming fairytale break comes along it makes time seem distant and forgettable as the melodies gather for a last stand in chaotic dramatizing of one’s staggering and insane dance. Thumping basslines, did I mention this track has an awesome thumping bassline just thumping your wit away to different strays!?! Next up is the Bubble Up (T2) track which got some crazy voice manipulations of a human being trying to sound like an energetic alien horse who is neighing, snorting, grunting, blowing and maybe even snickering in the outer cosmos of deranged tales inside bubbling glitches and farting festers. The bassline is more FullOn directed with stronger go and punchier knobs. As the break enters a mocking organ play that starts to stagger the melody to expand the thought about what is to happen as the lionized horse like sounds returns to bubble it Up in blubbering glitches and static echinoid sounds from the underground. Recommendation: I strongly suggest that if you want some dancefloor killers to die your audience so much they will be screaming for more madness, this digital glitch (yes, I’ve mentioned glitch a lot, but it is!!) EP is for you and your nighttime creatures of alluring fun and dance in trance. Jump jump ~ Boing boing !! Yes thats the one. If you've ever crashed on acid or felt stuck or anything on the flipside, you will most likely get a very strange feeling from som of the scenes in this movie. I felt all strange when watching it. Its not great, but for sure it has it's values and should be seen by anyone interested in movies taking on the LSD perspective. watch it.
