www.soundclick.com ... you can host your selfmade tunes there for free, and they put it for listening and downloading for everybody. It is not bad for users that dont have any webspace but who want to show their tunes to others. Plus you eventually have a little competition, because there is a "most downloaded" charts. I personally think that the soundclick servers are too slow, at least for me as a european. I prefer www.mp3.de , a german hosting site. And since I got my own webspace I dont need that either.

Hey, I've been listening to Goa Gil's liveset "Mixed Live in Goa" and I heard this godlike tune ... now I need to know the name of this track. I posted this in the identification forum but no one seemed to be able to identify it. If anyone of you got this set too, its on "Spirit - Dawn - Side B" and starts at 23:30. here are two links to a 2 minutes sample in 128kbps, pick one you like: http://rapidshare.de/files/10288714/sample...in_goa.mp3.html http://s33.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0HZHOK0...2E2BXI1F48RUZXJ I hope anyone of you can help me with identifying this tune. To give this thread justification to stay in the general forum: I need similar tracks of this unique and very trippy style. Hope you can help me here as well Thanks in advance!

Now thats a nice idea. Maybe I should start that for 2006

I just think it fits so well here... I am looking for massive, driving Dark Psy tunes, the ones you love to hear at a party. It should have some kind of melody, but a darker melody. I think a good example of what I mean should be Manibus - The Rider or Shrink - Planet X or Shift - The Face. Thanks in advance and a happy new year!

Awesome track indeed! Heard it first in 2004 though, otherwise it would probably be amongst my faves too )
-
If you want more intelligent, non-full-on Dark Psy, try Ghreg on Earth's album "Sigilweaver" or Ocelot - "VectorSelector". not to forget unique artists such as Osom, Derango or Penta
-
Derango - The Poisonous Square Terminator - KFSBK on Submarine Ocelot - Livnoc Tulor Ghreg on Earth - The Invisible College Dark Nebula - Melding Plague all released in 2005, all heard first on 2005

Hey, commenting as I listen... Hard kick, I think its not bad. However I think it causes some clipping or distortion. Might consider to use a limiter at some point here. The beginning is really cool. Good fills, and I like the background action. The synths sound way too simple and dry. Even if you used some standard free synths, they can be enhanced my multiple waveforms/layers and some FX (delay, reverb, phaser, flanger, etc...). Things getting really weird here in the midsection. You built in some nice surprise moments here Good job with the stereo spectrum. Some nice use of panning. I think the mastering could use improvement, I admit the sounds are well seperated from each other but it still doesnt really sound like a unity, some elements stand out too much from the rest. Good job anyway, keep it up

I know that too. I think almost every musician is in this state some time and indeed, sometimes it takes months to get your head clear. I have several ways to get rid of this, forcing it wont help... - If possible, draw back some days without music, stress and distraction, ideal would be a really lonely place in the wilderness, but I know thats not possible for many of us. Anyway, the loneliness and abstinence from music are the most important factors in my case. Somtimes it helps... - The "light" version: go for a walk in the woods or in the city at night. Again, silence and loneliness enhance your perception for details you wouldnt notice otherwise. - Psychedelic experiences. Take some time, chill out, and pull on your headphones and try to "feel" some really intense and trippy music. Hallucinogen, Derango, Son Kite, and other deep, psychedelic music helps me. Some might need to enhance this by some substances. After that I tend to look upon the music from a different angle, sometimes that helps with producing. - try to discover phases where you can produce more easily. I for example produce mostly during the night or in the evening, where I can focus on production 100% and nothing else can distract me. In any case: If you cant produce, just do something else and dont think like "shit, I got to produce, now where are my ideas". dont panic. Completely forget about production for some days or weeks and suddenly, your genius will return in form of an urge to put new ideas suddenly coming up into notes

What massive track to drop at new year moment!?
Cybernetika replied to pa850711's topic in General Psytrance
Menog - Nilzomania ... or Electric Universe - Meteor -
I think the bassline in "The poisonous Square" is actually one of the best I've ever heard. Other than that, this music is not really focused on the most innovative basslines, but thats completely okay, I think any other bassline wouldnt have suited the tracks anyway.

You can then see the automation on the left side in the so called "browser" under "current project > automation" -

well, you just hit the record button on the top and then do the knob tweaking. The automation is automatically written to the selected pattern. There is also way which is a little more complicated, but more precise and with the possibility of LFOs. You klick on the "power plug" in the upper left of the vst window. there you select "browse parameters", click on the desired parameter you want to automate and click on "edit events". If you dont know which name the parameter youre going to tweak has in that list, move the parameter, for example if it is the filter cutoff, just play around with it a little. Then you can just click on "last tweaked parameter > edit events". hope that helps -
what kind of sample are these?

Try pitching down some hihat sounds. Eventually there is a bitcrusher used on them. You can find a good free one here: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/737.html -
