  1. Darky track. Gives me some shivers. The levels are way too low. I had to turn up the volume to 500% to hear it a little clearly. Nice groove here, as Serguei mentioned. The ambience here is ultra scary. Loving it... reminds me of Hujaboy... kind of Some awesome sounds that contribute a lot to the atmosphere which is just wicked. Sweet job! Maybe the percussion could be a little fatter. Otherwise, a very promising tune. Keep it up!
  2. "Self Control" Some really nice ambience here. Absolutely trippy sound with lots of filter sweeps, I have to say I really dig it. The only improvement I'd make is adding a better kick. The one used right now is really weak and it being pushed away by other sounds' frequencies. "Xms" I see a much more minimal/prog approach here. And I have to say youre doing it very well. Awesome percussion. "Fullmoon" Very trippy tune. The sounds just fit extremely well together. Good use of the stereo spectrum. Loving 3:05 ... awesome deep, dark and trippy stuff. Youre getting better and better. "Rne" Has some kind of morbid atmosphere inside. Again I completely dig the percussion here. And the ambience is just WOW. Probably my new personal favorite of you. Great FX and synthwork. The lead starting in the end is magical. I think this is one track I can really get lost into. I've given my opinion on the previous 5 tunes already Overall, I can hear you improved your sound quite a bit. My criticism on your previous tunes is now obsolete. Extremely sweet new tunes. Keep it up
  3. Hi folks, again something new from me. I spent a lot of time on this track which I consider one of my most detailed tunes so far. It is called "Astranimus" and is some kind of darker full-on Psy with lots of twisted fucked up synths and FX. For the audio "destruction" I used a new plugin called dblue Glitch which is just awesome. I recommend it to any Psy or IDM producer, it can really create some nice FX with timestretching, bitcrushing, reversing etc, and it is very easy to use. Length: 8:26 Bitrate: 192kbps Filesize: ~11MB Equipment used: FL Studio 5, Linplug Albino, ReFX Vanguard, Spectrasonics Atmosphere, dblue Glitch, Ohmforce Ohmboyz, etc. So here's the link: http://www.cybernetika.de/cybernetika_-_astranimus.mp3 Enjoy. Feedback appreciated
  4. some shameless self-promotion, I know... but you can check out my new tune.. killargh darkpsy http://s5.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=29BJ9GZ01R5F81KIUZO4FF4YD7 other than that, I really love the new albums by Derango and Ghreg on Earth.
  5. I got mine from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009G3BJ...=music&v=glance
  6. as people said, he also wrote his music (as Kode IV and The Nommos)... I wouldn't even say his music is soo good, it's ok, but I've heard lots better. The point is he contributed a lot to the creation of Goa/Psy as a new scene and subculture. Maybe without him, we all would still be listening to EBM, who knows
  7. I would most definately go there. Goa Gil is a living legend. IMO he is as important for Goa/Psy as Black Sabbath are for Heavy Metal.
  8. this is very interesting stuff. I would say this is better for home listening than for dancing. An extremely atmospheric and dark (dark without cheese here) Industrial Psy album. It won't beat my '05 Psy Favorite "Tumult" by Derango, but its getting quite close. Will comment more when I had the time to listen more.
  9. Very interesting topic you have chosen there... 1. Yes, thinking of the frequency spectrum as a box is very popular. A track with a wide range of frequencies (at a balanced level) simply feels "fuller". Becauses it uses most of our acoustic perception range, it keeps.. so to speak.. the majority of our ears "busy". I dont know why exactly most listeners respond positively to a full frequency spectrum, but I think our ears (when speaking of "our ears", I am referring to the auditory canal, the eardrum, and the brain of course) want to perceive all the frequencies from music which they usually perceive from a natural environment (or from an environment they feel comfortable in). Maybe our ears are conditioned by the environment in terms of their "likes and dislikes" ... for example, a city inhabitant exposed to a lot of traffic etc. noise will rather enjoy "louder" music with harsher high and low frequencies. People living in the forest in relative silence will rather enjoy "warmer" music with a lot of mid-range, but they will dislike the harsh frequencies. You could also put this theory vice versa, a person exposed to much noise could also seek "refuge" in warmer, more organic sounding music. It's just a theory how I explain this to myself... feel free to tear it apart 2. From a producer's perspective: no, you can't really "transform" the sound in terms of frequencies just by adding more elements. The old frequencies are still there. They are then stacked with the new sounds. Adding to sounds to each other does not make a division, but an addition, if you know what I mean. Anyway, all of the frequencies are still there, but of course, if one sound's frequency is overwhelming the frequency of the other, our ears and sometimes the hardware itself will play a trick on us: one sound is almost pushed away by the other, although it is still present. Imagine a bird singing in the distance. In total silence otherwise, you will be able to hear the bird clearly, even if it is far away and pretty silent (in terms of dB). Now a train is driving by right next to you, causing an extremely loud sound, completely overwhelming the bird's singing which you can't hear as long as the train is driving by. Anyway, this is the problem of the clash of frequencies which the producer has to be aware of. He has to balance the single elements so that they dont "clip" other frequencies. Sometimes the clipping is intentional, because the tune feels fuller and more like a unity of sound. 3. See #1 I also think that a certain atmosphere you like influences the frequencies you want to hear. If you like your music "cold and raw", harsher upper frequencies will become important, and at the same time the bass (which provides warmth) will be disliked. Vice versa for music with a "warm and natural" sound, they need more bass with less high frequencies.
  10. [x] amnt of drugs consumed no, really, I think that imagination is the most important thing. Of course you gotta need the musical and production skills as a fundament for building your tunes.. otherwise you just wont be able to turn your ideas into notes properly. Musical background will help you greatly to get a feeling for rythm and harmonics. Without that it will be almost impossible to make acceptable music. Same goes for at least a little production skills. I am not a production fetishist at all, but there should be at least a little knowledge about the general sound "layout" of the tune. Even if you have a track with a great atmosphere in mind, if you cant transport the atmosphere into sound (which means after all mastering the single elements in a way they contribute the atmosphere), the track will simply fail. It's just the same as with a painter, who got great ideas but is unable to put his ideas onto the paper since he cant even draw. Imagination is then just what makes the difference between pure craftsmanship and art. A little genius can make a big difference.
  11. ReFX Vanguard is good for all the leads, you can create sharp and rich sounding psy sounds with it. Linplug Albino 2 is more of an experimentalist. I personally dont like the presets that much, but with a little randomizing, some additional fx and tweaking of all the stuff, it gets the job done for extremely weird FM sounds/ morphing sounds, FX and that kind of stuff. I love to use it in dark psy. Sonicbytes Gat'R ... this one is a gating VST, which works like a charm. rgcaudio z3ta+ .. it has a great sound and lots of possibilities, but I never really fell in love with this one, its too complicated and uses a shitload of cpu power... About Halion, I dont really know it... but it seems to be rather a sampler than a synthie. It can be useful but you gonna need a good synth too.
  12. commenting as I listen... Nice atmospheric introduction, sets a great mood! The the bass feels a little too "hollow", dont know how to better describe it... turn down the 250Hz area on it a little maybe. The minimal percussion and all the FX are kinda nice. Although I probably want the single elements to become a little "fatter". 2:15 ... this is an awesome breakdown, really dark. And then the tune kicks in again. Loving now how the elements play together now, although you should maybe introduce a new layer to the tune after the breakdown. 4:20 ... yeah, that's what I call a nice use of a sample. And a very very sweet "roar" sound, I listened to that sound 6 times now because I like it that much. Nice little bits of melody you introduce then. Good stuff. Well done, keep it up!
  13. "white magic" ... I absolutely love this tune, it has very original melodies. I love the high sharp sounds. However I think that the kick could have a little more bottom. I cant really describe it, but somehow it feels not to harmonize perfectly with the bass. Anyway, my fave among your tunes, a kickass tune! "matchu pitchu" ... also a very good sounding track. Overall the mastering is very good, but I'd like to hear the sounds less distorted. Try to reduce the overdrive on some of the synths if you applied any to them. Later on there is a high noise in the percussion that distracts a little. Probably some compression on the master channel could make your tune sound more as "one piece", because right now the sounds dont really seem like a unity to me... "it's all over" is then a very nice stomping tune. Great what you did with all the FX and the rythm. However I think in the end it gets a little too much "stuttering"... try to play around more with the gate. It will make it much groovier that way too. "the keepers" ... wow, nice dark atmospheres. I really really dig it. And the playful melody towards the end.. awesome!! Sounds kinda like the misted muppet to me, and you can consider that a great compliment. "ritual" ... it is a good tune, I think I have commented on it already really good work here
  14. Hiya, here's a tune I just completed. might change something about the structure, but I feel very content with the result already. This track is called "Continuum" and features a melodic mix between Tech and Psy. Please tell me what you think about it Length: 6:51 mins Filesize: ~9.5 MB Bitrate: 192kbps BPM: 148 Equipment used: Fruity Loops Studio 5, Linplug Albino 2 (for most FX), ReFX Vanguard (for the leads and background percussive layers), Spectrasonics Atmosphere (for the pads and some bits of ambience), Soncibytes Gat'R, V-Station (for the bass), and some other stuff... The link: http://www.cybernetika.de/cybernetika_-_continuum.mp3 Enjoy
  15. http://www.cybernetika.de I will update it soon so that you can find my newest tunes on the site.
  16. :o I listened to the album three times as a whole now. The first time was like: So that was what all this hype is about? The tracks sound all the same! I'm a little disappointed because I expected something more groovy. The second time was like: Hell yeah, this is muuuch better than I thought at first. Sooo many different Hi quality FX, great arrangement, this is one of the most complex Psy releases I have ever heard, definately. Feels like this is growing and growing on me... Third time (a lonely, silent night, stoned, listening to this on headphones...): OMGWTFBBQ??!? ... holy fucking mother! PWNED BY DERANGO! This album is one of the most intense musical experiences I've ever had. The best Dark Psy album since Xenomorph - Qlippoth I'd say. The sound design and mastering are absolutely perfect and I cant imagine anything about it that could improve the sound. I cant even imagine how much work must be behind each of the tunes. The most complex Psy release ever, without doubt. The complexity of this one is almost infinite, it is almost impossible to memorize a track, although each one takes me on a journey. No easy listening stuff at all. In a way it reminds me of Progressive Metal because of its unpredictability. Still it is the purest quintessence of Psy musically. Try to find anything more psychadelic than this one All of the tunes are little masterpieces, but #6: The poisonous Square even stands out from the rest. Especially home listeners who like to dig deep into the darkest and most psychedelic spheres should put a big "DERANGO" in their books! 10/10 from me.
  17. Great looking tracklist, thanx a lot.. will take a listen
  18. Thanks, I know what happens to those who exceed their traffic limit ... I just thought I could help hosting, lets say I provide the alternate mirror for the files, or host half of the files... About the bittorrent thing: I am a huge fan of the bittorrent network and would in any case contribute my bandwidth to spreading the files... but I think that most people wont accept it... you've got to download bittorrent, set it up properly, organize downstream and upstream, etc... I dare to say that you will get 50% less downloads if you offer only a bittorrent link because people are too lazy for that thing ... As an alternative option, okay, but not as the only option.
  19. I could maybe help hosting the final compilation on my webspace, got 50 gigs of traffic per month. And of course I'd like to participate. Someone start this contest please word.
  20. mhhh, i dont know if im getting this correctly. i think i can help... you can use the arpeggiator function in the piano roll for that purpose. draw a longer note you want to quantise. Then press the key combo "alt+a". In the new window you have to set the range to 1. The "time mul" and the "gate" knobs are what you need now
  21. right now it doesnt start... it says "Connecting Tracker to say Start, waiting for response" I actually downloaded this one already and it worked, but i accidentally deleted it. now it seems not to work, although I can see a peer already :|
  22. will try to get it too and then help seeding it
