  1. Hi, after I finally got FL to work again, I just made a new "serious" track, which could probably appear on my first album. It's called "starbound" and is focused on a dark, deep and trippy atmosphere with lots of spacey ambience, acidlines and stuff like that. The track is also kinda epic ... I hope you like it! Length: 12:24 Size: 17MB Bitrate: 192kbps Equipment used: FL Studio 5, ReFX Vanguard, Linplug Albino, Moun Tau2 Bassline, Spectrasonics Atmosphere The link: Download Cybernetika - Starbound Enjoy!
  2. Cool intro, the hits are shocking, thats great Ok, then the kick needs more emphasis, it needs to get a little heavier, boost the 60-100Hz area and remove any interferences so that it stands out a little more. All the orchestral things have a Misted Muppet touch, I like that a lot. Anyway, what you should definately add is more percussion. This way the song sounds very muffled, you gotta need something providing more "clarity". Hats, snares and stuff like that. You might also need a LFOed synth in the background giving more depth or something similar... Keep on working, this has potential
  3. Nice atmosphere throughout the whole piece. Cool singing, where did you get the vocals from? For the rest, I agree with Nick. It sounds very promising so far, great mood and all, but its hard to judge the quality from 1 minute. I'd as well say this needs some more (psychedelic) elements, maybe with LFO action and stuff like that. Anyways, youre on a good way with this one. Keep it up!
  4. I think thats a very common mistake that people say "musical = melodic" and so they reason "non-melodic = not musical" ... that's simply not true. It's not all about the harmonics of melodies, music is also about rythmics, arrangement, even dexterity with instruments and stuff like that. I would even say that there are some Grindcore bands that play on such a high level that can hardly be reached by a trance track. I like and produce trance myself but I admit that most trance, especially melodic trance, is much simpler than stuff by Napalm Death for example. Trance is first of all straight dancing music, and I think its a lot easier to produce (I know its still not easy, but the devil is more in detail in producing trance.. understanding the basics and writing a simple, rocking track can usually be learned very fast) Especially in grindcore the rythms are just insane, and I consider it highly musical if you're able to swicht between 15/16, 3/4, 8/6 patterns in less that seconds like some of these guys do, although an unprepared listener most likely will say "that's just noise. I'll take a washboard and scratch on it and it will sound the same." which is honestly bullshit.
  5. Oh, if you want to listen to the heaviest, thickest walls of guitars ever, visit a Meshuggah concert. There you will see Metal can indeed become very "heavy". IMO Iron Maiden is not really "heavy" in any way.
  6. Yeah. Definately Fear Factory. Or try Static-X - All in Wait, it's a bit straighter and has this "shout it out"-feeling... Awesome one for cruising around As for Psy, I think I like Dark Nebula most. Especially their "Robotic Tongue" -Cyber Dark Psy Album. Try "Structural Failure" for example, or "Cyber Cult" off "the 8th sphere". Great ones, though probably even better for driving a spaceship, hehe. Lemurians, Passenger, Penta, Damage and Shift also do it for me. And another artist, awesome for driving that must be mentioned: Crystal Method!
  7. So this Ingmar Veeck guy made some Goa under the alias "the lasertrancer" ... crappy name, but he made some nice stuff under that alias.. hmm, somewhere he offers it for free... ah here are some.. check out "Bio Plasma", awesome Goacid (but with a crappy production). http://music.download.com/lasertrancer/360...-100121208.html http://www.callasong.de/band/music.php?id=2777
  8. And here is a 14 minutes Dark Ambient tune, my first release http://www.cybernetika.de/vecordia_-_terran_salvation.mp3 mostly made with Spectrasonics Atmosphere.
  9. Greaat topic I have a secret passion for Industrial/Noise/Dark Ambient and the likes. And also a very good track, very cold soundscapes and eerie droning pads. It's very hypnotizing. Great! Ok, so here's my dark ambient tune, made it more than a year ago. http://www.cybernetika.de/vecordia_-_aeon.mp3 by the way, at how many BPM do u write your tracks? is 70-90BPM ok? or should it be even slower?
  10. Hmm... I remember you from somewhere. Some other forum... Anyway, nice track, cool synths. The kick sounds at times a bit out of place, it could fit better in the mix. I think you can win a lot if you reduce the "oomph" of it a bit. In general you should soften it. And it should work better with the bass which could be punchier. Try shorter bass notes. The pad type sounds at 3:20 are disharmonic, you should consider changing them. Otherwise, solid tune. I like the beginning most, great buildup. Keep it up!
  11. Acid Rockers - Mindset is indeed very good. I also recommend Xatrix - File 2 Authentik - Vampires Wormfood - Heavy Rumblings (awesome dark one btw) Artifakt also has often a "breaky" style. Another very interesting artist is Noise Unit. They're not exactly Psy, but I think the stuff they're making is quite close to "Mind Set" for example. The music is quite twisted, in parts trippy and has plenty of Psy-typical FX, but it has also influences of Industrial and Techno. I think their most breaky album is "Drill". Think I'm gonna write a review of it. edit: oh, how could I forget: Shpongle - And the Day turned to Fright (Eat Static Remix)
  12. I absolutely agree that walking alone in the dark with psychedelic music is the most scary thing One time I was walking through the forest near here, and it was damn scary. Think I was listening to Xenomorph or something like that .. that was awesome!
  13. Think I liked "Sailing in Cyberspace" most, it had by far the best sound and an amazing dreamy feeling. Maybe the gate on the part is a little too hard, try rising the "floor" or changing the attack and release time of the gate. Other than that, nice. "Mirror Sky" is awesome as well, but it's too muffled right now. Put the melodys more in the foreground, then the track could be massive. "Neverland" is a good and trippy tune, not my style tho. I think the lead synth is a bit annoying to me, maybe redesign the sound... the rest is well done.
  14. "Freaks of Byronbay" is quite twisted and well produced. Really liking it Good synth design throughout the whole track, and nice use of panning. Hm, I cant think of anything wrong about the track. btw great use of the sample. At 4:20 it seems like the track is going even darker, I could well imagine some kind of climax with heavy guitars or a very sharp synthline, instead the track is going down a bit which left me waiting for something more.
  15. I am currently planning to make a Psy remix of a Dimmu Borgir song.. hmm think I should get it started I agree with Pacal Votan about the Metal songs, there would be some great ones to remix. I think Tim Schuld or Xenomorph should be good for this ... though the recent mutilations of great classics by Skazi/Beat hackers and the likes still scare me
  16. Another thing I've been looking forward to for a long time! Brilliant review!
  17. Yay, I got it. Today my packet from psyshop arrived
  18. My downspeed is ok. I'm gonna listen soon. Is this planned as some kind of album (cause the tracks are numbered)?
  19. There are very boring passages, such as the generic full-on introduction, but the very detailed mid part sounds great to me. I know its only a sample with a bad quality, but he should abandon this very simple full-on parts cause the mid part is something different.
  20. Aaah, thanks a lot... same for the other remixes
  21. That's a hard choice. I go for "Antidote" tho
  22. Thanks for the replys, a lot of stuff to listen to
