Hey Pat, were those aussie $ or US of A $ ?
-
For sure this is a super phattie. The best release of 2006 for me. Love those dark spooky synth lines that fit so perfectly. If your a fan of good fullon dark psy trance like Digital Talk this is a step above. 9.5/10 buy it!

Wicked loving this muchly!! Very psychedelic and as usual not too full on!
-
Some Phyx tracks over the past couple of years have been blinding however I'm not convinced this is any good-none of the tracks seem like standouts howevere I will give it a bit more of a listen and pass judgement a little later. BAck to trip controllers-now thats a good cd!

This is gonna rock-creepy, groovy yet Massive psy trance that will blow the cobwebs off anything this years-Cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
WOW nice pots!!

Found it really boring really... I mean whats up with the computer voices... ubiquitious flute.... and that song that sounds like a turkish pop song... About as bad as that Disolving clouds comp... and hardly psychedelic.... I put Solar fields in my cd player and thought-YES this is more like it.

Haha funny how things go round in circles... I believe that was a track i had on Dat from many years ago (way before MP3 trading) that I think i got off a greek guy living in London way back in 98 or so and I gave it to gabriel (Dj Zen) in Canada..... haha never came from Australia.. anyway looks like the puzzle has been solved, cheers I alwyas wondered who it was-its a great track! You got the New Zealand bit right!

Anybody want to put a price on this one? Seems very rare to me In 1998, record label POSITIVE ION records released the debut psy trance album from Christchurch producer Aran Gallagher, a.k.a FREq. ALLOYS sold out of all copies in NZ alone in 6 months! The need for more live local acts in the Christchurch electronic dance music scene, saw the formation of FREq early in 1996. Since this formation FREq has become one of New Zealands most renowned live electronic artists due to the success of the live performances that have been exhibited at various electronic dance events throughout New Zealand. Events such as Tranceformation (Castle Hill), Nice (Goat Island - Auckland), Omnivore (Wellington Town Hall), Karma 1 and 2 (ChristChurch Town Hall) and peak time sets at Gatherings 96/97 and 97/98 (Canaan Downs, Nelson) to name a few. This locally-released debut album is best filed under trance, but with various dance genres making cameo appearances, it is pleasingly frenzied into a highly likable form of techno. FREq, a regular contributor of live sets to otherwise deejayed dance parties, has a punchy, characteristic sound, using strong, uplifting melodies propelled by pounding beats and squelchy synth. The later part of the album segues into the glorious rush of trance mayhem which is 'Ferrous'. The richest alloy here, however, is 'Quilt', a rapturous dance groove swimming in subtle atmospheres. It is an album which will grow on you and isn't exclusively full of dance party music. Take this in and you be the judge." (Obscure NZ Reviews) Released in 1998, It is so rare that I cant find it mentioned anywhere available anywhere on-line. I believe it was only released in NZ with less than 200 copies. TRACK LIST 1. Geowana 2. Niar 3. Quilt 4. 5pin Din 5. The Cylon 6. Seraph 7. Ferrous 8. Switch

That Psykovsky cd sounds like Pleaidians played backwards-seriously!

If you liked MFG from the old days YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED. I like it cause it still has a lot of that nice rich analogue sounding goodness, does away with the trashy generic melodies, carries enough of the old school feel to it and embraces the new production levels. A worthwhile release particulary when there is mountains and mountains of full on cheesy and dark industrial nonsense around. Also has the same structure to there songs the way they used to make them. Also some really good peaks in a couple of the tracks buy it! 9/10

A couple of good ones of recent Concept-Experimental (sounds a lot like Audialize-very nice production and super slick!) 10/10 every track a winner Cosmo-Gravity (super psychedelic and fullon and groovy!) Electropnyse-great acidic noises and a masterpiece! Lyserg lessons-at last some Kindzaza I can get my head around Violent reaction-Aciddance wicked comp shame about the volume levels though! Double rel-cereal killers-straight fullon madness Amoeba-interceptor good south african Dessert encounters-Mass abductions nice phat rolling fullon! Brethern-legend of cane (nice fullon morning ) These are the best ones from about 50 I have bought in the past 3 months

Not sure about this one. Not as good as the first twisted system (More power I thought) and Phyx dominates in this a little too much. Dont get me wrong I like Phyx alot when he gets it right otherwise he can sound a little industrial-which is what this begins to sound like. Im more of a shift sound person 7/10

V/A - Mind Controllers Part 2 ( MIND CONTROL RECOR
psydmt replied to Rumble Pack (Blue Vortex)'s topic in 2005
Sorry but cheeesy and clubby-The Ibiza sound as they call it. if you like Spun releases you will probbaly like this. -
Dunno the mastering on this was really hit and miss. the ideas are good but becuase its so poorly put together its sounding all a bit muffled to my ears.
-
Ok I'm not a prog lover but do appreciate it when its good. I have been a fan of Jaia since 97 since Mai Mai etc. I have given this a good listen and feel its a let down. lots of Ibiza style (cafe del mar style) , very housey and loads of woman singing through it. Think Blue Nile meets antix.... not really a good mix in my book. There are some small moments of those wicked jaia melodies though. Buy it if your a heavy prog listener or you really like something a little eclectic. You will hate it if you dont like prog or you have no idea who Jaia are.

wow nice to see you back on the forum freak-it's been many a year since I last saw you name!

Although Crystal matrix release some good tune their mastering on their comps are absolutely appalling. That goes for tracks that are equed badly, poor muffled sound. Oracle and Utopia 2 are high contenders for this. Ketuh releases could also do with some better mastering aswell.

Somebody should do a dirty psy remix of the damage done-wicked sisters track also grooving in green by the March Violets!
