  1. Since I got the new scroll saw for Xmas, I've started working with wood cuts. It's a very precise and focused process, but very enjoyable. Here's my first with the new tool - This is to give you an idea of the size You may have seen these two older designs: DP has dibs on this when it's completed
  2. Hey Lu Bu, I like what you have going here. I think this has the potential to sound big. I agree with mars on creating more of a story as this will add to the depth of your track. Good work, man
  3. I really , really love this kind of music. It makes me feel as if I'm floating through stratospheric layers of lushness, light and color. Xerxes, your music is great!
  4. Understandable, yet I find their music overwhelmingly nostalgic and bittersweet. It reminds me of a portion of my childhood
  5. For really dreamy, hazy ambient you should check out Stars of the Lid - And Their Refinement of the Decline. It's great "working on projects" music.
  6. Thank you so much, Stalker. That's an amazing thing to say. I truly am glad that you enjoyed it
  7. Thanks Trance Y'know I've found some boutiques around here and some along the East Coast that seem very promising. I've got a great connection who is willing to help out, too. Btw, I noticed that you're from Raleigh. I'm from Greensboro.
  8. Great! So you got 'em and they're in good condition?
  9. Thanks, Nurbs On the road music is my fave. what a great compliment, thanks exotic! Hey serguei, thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement. Wow! Thank you sparkunian! With the synth solo, I felt i shouldn't get too carried away otherwise I'd step into jam-band territory. Man Per, you really know how to make me feel good about my work That sound at the end was a monophonic string in 3/4 time. i love the contrast that time signatures has over 4/4. Hey Lu Bu, I very much appreciate your comments and that you hold my music making potential in such high regard. This Day is Mine was an exciting track to make, but I truly can't stick with one style or one vibe. I have to be true to myself and the way I express myself musically. It may fluctuate in accessibilty, but the music has to be made. Thanks so much, Towelie! I'm really glad you liked it. Thanks a lot, Bahamut! I'm in agreement with you about the bass. I've been listening on different systems and it's just not meaty enough. I'm gonna tweak this a little more. Thanks for pointing that out Hey McKoy, thanks man Well getting my release out there is not so much because of shyness, but rather fear. I'm really taking the plunge this time though. Thanks so much, RAH. You're too kind
  10. Really nice, Droso Are the latest pics from Thailand? The woodcuts almost look Balinese.
  11. Thanks so much for the great review, Snap. What I'd like to do is add this to my first release once I get the last track completed. The one I'm currently working on is a bastard of a track It's taken me months to get a solid grip on.
  12. Now THAT's a beautiful pic! I would love to climb that tree
  13. Wow, this one made my brain melt. I put a lot of work into creating this track and hopefully you'll find that is was worth it. It's a mix of tragedy and adventure (thanks, Per ). Will you have a listen? Sync or Swim - Acidplanet Sync or Swim - Yousendit
  14. Thaks, Per Hey thanks so much, Santo. Really nice to hear that Thanks a lot Go-Goa They paid me, but not in cash. They give me free bottles whenever I drop by. Last time I picked up some they gave me a huge trashbag's worth
  15. These compliments are well-deserved As I said before, this is a wonderful track and your best mixing job to date.
  16. So here's an update on some of my new designs. I've been experimenting with different bottles - beer, liquor, etc. A few of these are incomplete. This was for a bar in town called Fishbones
  17. I wonder.. did you try to balance that bottle before, or after you consumed its contents? :P

  18. I do this waaaaay too often. I think that's when my composer's block kicks in. The emotion that I felt at it's conception stagnates and I want to return to that point. While attempting to do so, I tend to lose focus and go off on nonsensical tangents. That's when the track festers away on my harddrive. So, I guess this is one of the worst moments in my track-writing. The best moments are when I don't realize I am even writing something until I'm completely exhausted. I love those mornings where you start up your track, listen to it's entirety, and completely love what you created.
  19. I'm not a huge fan of pre-programmed arps. It takes away the challenge of composing.
  20. Thanks so much, guys, for the great comments. I gotta keep trying. I feel like something is supposed to come of these. I've got a bunch of new ones I'll post soon.
  21. Jan, these are great! I'm impressed I really like the misty morning one. I'd love to walk around there.
  22. Wow Thanks, cubicidal. That made my evening.
  23. Hey Nemo, it's sounds great - really lush. I'm looking forward to the automation you'll add to the 303s
  24. Sure, not a problem Here's a Yousendit link This Day is Mine It's on my myspace, too: This Day is Mine
  25. Oh, don't count on my words as motivation to keep composing. It's quite nice! You can definitely call me a fan
