  1. Yeah, I'll be in Hyderabad. My coworker who's there already told be it takes daily, in the morning, 1h30 to go through the traffic jams, if all goes well, to go to work. So far i've always complained that I waste 15 minutes to go to work everyday. This will be a steep change! I'll not have to drive, but I'll be frightened, ah ah! This will remind me Colombia and Venezuela. Crazy driving.
  2. Indians themselves say the driving there is chaotic, and they are always amazed when in the western countries people stop to let people cross the zebra crossing, and that no one honks.
  3. Hum, it's just that I'm not attracted. I'm more a traditional guy
  4. Personally, I have no objection, neither from you sharing it with us, nor from the practice itself. I'm open-minded!
  5. Ok, back to the Bulgarian mountains Personally I would like to spend a few days hiking in the mountains but in spring, to set me free from daily stress
  6. Why not! These countries are modern, but granted that it is easier to buy maracas and congas than an SH-101 or a TB-303 But for how long? Less physical activity, more junk food. These physical characteristics are common in South America too, e.g. this venezuelan:
  7. I will be in Andhra Pradesh. I was thinking about flying to Goa (by plane, not LSD). Yeah, I have the feeling that I'll be less disappointed to visit local places, flea markets, buying some Ganesh t-shirts rather than going to Goa and coming back without having seen much.
  8. Ah, yes, a few years ago I had a Colombian girl friend from Cali, very good looking and very good mood, always smiling, always asking for s#x (never seen that here), tanned, long dark hair, beautiful shapes. The nicest girls are from Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil in my opinion. Yet another reason to go live there, beside the nice weather, great food, and super nice happy people. There you see girls you'll never see for real in old Europe
  9. Hi there! I will have to go to central India next month for 2 weeks because of company requirements. I expect to have 2-3 days off in the end of the stay if I manage to do my work in due time. I will not be too far from Goa and I wonder if I should go there for a week-end. This was my dream in the 90's and at that time I was a student so no option. Now that I have the opportunity, I'm unsure whether it'd be worth it...I'm afraid the momentum isn't as it used to be. I'm afraid I only see leftovers of a golden age with only local people preying on tourists to sell drugs and attract them to expensive facilities. This, with little benefit, the Beatles have gone, Goa Gil has left, Mark Allen, DJ Jorg, Raja Ram also, ah ah!! What do the israeli youngsters do there? (beside drugs) What kind of music do they play? (I like old school goa trance) What could I benefit from such a trip? Anjuna beach
  10. If, like me, you enjoy mild, sunny weather all year long, go to upper south America or central America, in the mountains, and you'll get between 15-25°C with mild rains at night all year long. It's like that in the mountains in Antioquia, Colombia, for instance. Very pleasant.
  11. The culprit? Facebook. It's putting a dent into many web sites and draining the traffic dramatically. People gather on Facebook into small communities, share their photos and opinions... Other than that, maybe Psynews members are too busy playing with their gear?
  12. If you want me to visit Bulgaria, maybe show beautiful women, nice traditional meals, sunny landscapes, etc...You have to fight the image people have from Bulgaria...
  13. I love the last tune with the excerpt from the movie "Head". We were speaking of belief Beliefs and conditioning All belief possibly could be said to be the result of some conditioning Thus the study of history is simply the study of one system of beliefs Deposing another and so on and so on and so on A psychologically tested belief of our time is that the central nervous System, which feeds it's impulses directly to the brain, is unable to Discern between the real and the vividly imagined experience, If there is a difference, and most of us believe there is Am i being clear? To examine these concepts requires tremendous energy and discipline To experience the now without preconception or belief To allow the unknown to occur and to occur requires clarity For where there is clarity, there is no choice And where there is choice, there is misery But then why should anyone listen to me? Why should i speak since i know nothing?
  14. Here's my take. If you use only hardware synths, a 2nd hand computer with decent specifications is fine. If you use a few tracks with soft synths, you can either use a mid-range synth but you'll have to bounce to audio your tracks as you create them. If you want to process several soft synth tracks in real time, you have to buy a high-hand computer. Some of the most CPU intensive synths are LuSH-101 (the worst), Rob Papen's synths, Sylenth1, Massive, to name a few. Effects processing is also CPU intensive. I have a mid-range computer, and I am unable to play this preset; one clip plays fine but more than one and my computer is desperate. The thing is that when you compose goa trance, you use a fair amount of tracks and effects, compared to other genres. I suggest Windows over OS X if you like soft synths (more synths are available for Windows). When I have the money, I'll buy a high-end computer (Intel i7 would be my choice today), to be safe for a while. I wish I could play in real time several tracks performed by soft synths with various effects seamlessly.
  15. Ah, maybe with the Roland JD's Wailing Guitar preset, and its onboard feedback + mod wheel?
  16. Hi, Any idea how to reproduce the sound of a screaming werewolf from the wood at night? It is a common sound used here, here and here to some extend in the background. The only things I identify are an LFO>VCF progressing very slowly, and a distorsion used. Other than that, no idea... Thank you!
  17. It sure is affordable, however, I think it is more suitable for live performance (i.e. such as grooveboxes) than for advanced usage in a studio such as for goa trance creation. If it supports MiDi edition of all parameters from your favorite DAW, it's pretty neat!
  18. I listened to the speedsound demo. Not interested. Not even for free. However, your mileage may vary.
  19. It looks pretty neat. At first sight, I thought it was a VSTI. It could be used as a master keyboard on the go with a laptop when you want to compose music out of home. I'd love to listen to a demo. I hope it's not cheaply built like other synths lately.
  20. I'm searching for the preset for a Doepfer Drehbank to talk to Sylenth1.
