  1. What is "track Evolution"? What software did you use? Your track looks quite transy! I like how it feels.
  2. LOL...That would be cool if he shared a few tips with us
  3. You welcome. Regarding that lead, I wouldn't tell for sure. I have heard several similar leads on my synths, but they are too similar to tell which one, and the musician pass them through multieffects (e.g. chorus in this case, apparently), then it's different from the original preset. The kick may have been designed by MWNN himself, maybe from a TR-808 kick with increased resonance.
  4. I'm listening right now to , and there are so many synths, melodies and SFX...Is there one specific that you'd like to know how to recreate?
  5. It's a famous bass used in the 90's, it's called "Latest Bass". You can sample it in your favorite DAW, play D#1 and D#2 alternatively and you'll have the same result as . Same sound as here Buy yourself a Yamaha TX81Z, it's very inexpensive
  6. Unfortunately, this is the general trend, even Roland has taken this path with cheap builds from China. Maybe this is another reason why people rush to vintage gear (sturdy, easily serviceable). On the 7th Day, Shiva created Hashish
  7. I agree with you, I agree with you, and with you too!! I would like a desktop analog synth version from Korg, in the lines of the Access Virus, but analog.
  8. Yeah, one important point, though: it seems the keys are too narrow to be played like on a regular keyboard...
  9. This is pretty cool! Thanks for that. So far, I have used the ring waveform of my syntecno teebee to get close to the MS-20 sound, but this new MS-20 caught my attention
  10. I was listening to the Sylenth1 demos on the homepage, and it sounds really nice. I especially like the "10. filterdrive" and "11. unisaw lead" demos The filterdrive demo sounds a little bit like the beginning of Karmic Energies - Equal & Surpass...
  11. Yes, but the more VSTIs, the more horse power your computer (or supercharged iPad) needs...
  12. I agree but this is somehow a characteristic of new school
  13. I think you need both analog and digital instruments for goa trance, a good mix. Also, I personally feel more comfortable with real knobs, trackball and computer keyboard than with a touch screen, I often press the wrong spot...
  14. Maybe you could do some simple minimalist music out there, but Goa Trance music is pretty demanding in terms of quality of synths, effects and number of tracks. For instance, when your computer is too weak, you have to bounce to audio some of your tracks to bear with the load...
  15. I also think it is pretty good already. Here are a few suggestions: You could add more synths to create a dialog between them, i.e. various melodies would come back and forth. Between logical parts of your tune, I would mark the transition with drum changes such as bass drum roll or hi-hat roll or snare drum roll. I would also add more subtile barely audible loops of all sorts on the background to fill up, but not too much either. But this may not be what you are after.
  16. I'm listening to Distorted Frames right now. The whole album is pure goodness

    "Strange World" is awesome!
  18. You welcome! I'd love to know the exact recipe to reproduce the Etnica bass drum one day
  19. Hello, This is a kick drum sample done with an SH-101. Here are the settings: Kick Drum sample Drum Roll To reproduce, you can slightly vary the decay and sustain values.
  20. Not any vintage could do. You can already discard all synths that are low-pass filter only. It looks like a JD-800. Could be wrong, though! Settings are high-pass filter + slow attack on pitch env.
  21. APC40 is slowly being replaced by Push. Personally, I'm reluctant taking so much freedom for live performance. The more freedom you take, the more likely you can perform poorly, when you think about all the instruments, SFX, that come and go, that play at the same time. For me, I prefer running the DAW itself, and, as long as I keep control, move one knob here and there, just for the sake of it, otherwise, if I just improvise, the instruments go all into different directions and the result is pure junk. I'm not a multitask computer, and I don't play 3-instrument minimal house music
  22. If you like to DIY, maybe you could take a look at the Oakley DIY modular synths
