  1. "Amanians - Dna" is absolutely wicked!
  2. I have never created such a sound. What is it? Band-pass filter? High-pass filter? Supersaw? Overdrive?
  3. LOL...Thanks for your input. Yeah, and cheating, you are less prone to mistakes
  4. I'm watching these live acts (Boom festival, Ozora, Fullmoon), and I'm trying to understand the point turning some knobs, when there is really no need at all, based on the music currently playing...I mean, there's this hysteric musician turning up and down the cutoff knob of his Nord Wave, but you don't hear anything that may sound close to it...Even if the rhythm is here and kicking. I can't believe these musicians are performing live, using MiDi instruments and a DAW. And the music is so perfectly mixed with no error or mistake that would obviously happen during a 1-hour mix. How do you think they organize themselves to provide a nice mix? Are they "cheating"? Seriously...
  5. @Monahium: If you're searching for a VSTi, I suggest Audiorealism ABL2, as suggested by PharaOm. If you're searching for a second-hand synth, beside a x0xb0x or a x0xi0, I suggest maybe a Dœpfer MS-404, or a TeeBee Syntecno. More here (in the "You Might Also Like" section) and here. @PharaOm: Nice creation! What is NWbassline? (I didn't find it on the Internet). Looks like a TB emulator We're having a lot of fun here! And we're practicing and sharpening our ears
  6. @PharaOm: Very nice! I think pitch height isn't 100% the same though @Richpa: This looks like a simple TB-303 saw tooth with overdrive and resonance...
  7. @killiksan: Pretty close indeed! Maybe a little bit too much overdrive though?
  8. Do you like creating sounds from scratch? What about trying to reproduce some famous sounds and melodies from goa trance tunes for fun? You can use any instrument with the settings you want, but you need to tell in details how you managed to reproduce the same sound as the one used in the tune. This is the fun part Here's my first challenge for you: the main synth lead used by Miranda in . Here's a hint to start: If you have a Roland SH-101, you can use a pulse-width modulation square wave Once you find, you can upload a melody sample for us to listen to (and to criticize)
  9. Let's complete the tracklist then! Yahel - Angel Jonathan ? Astral Projection - Enlightened Evolution ? ? ? Yahel - Angel Jonathan (again) Sun Project - 380 Volts Who takes the plunge first?
  10. Hey, here's a new one: When you play special effect sounds here and there on your tune, do you actually send the notes to a synth in real time (MiDi) or are you just playing a sample of a SFX sound that you recorded earlier with your synth (audio)?
  11. It is already on 4shared. Listening to it right now. It's an insane mix!
  12. Goa trance music has many special effects, weirds sounds here and there all the time. Two more questions to musicians: Do you have all your SFX sounds, transition drum rolls, ready and muted, and you just trigger them every once in a while? Or do you work differently? How? Before starting composing your instrument notes, do you have your group of SFX sounds ready, or do you invent them as the tune composition goes on? Thanks!
  13. Someone suggested them to use Traktor, and they didn't understand...
  14. I turned it on, and I already got a 4/4 snare drum rhythm
  15. Two more questions: Do you use the arpegiator integrated into your instrument when composing, or do you enter the arpegiator notes into your PC sequencer so that it resends the notes in loop to your instrument? For an instrument, do you have 2 separate MiDi tracks: one for notes and another one for miscellaneous midi controls? Or just one MiDi track for both notes and MiDi controls? Thanks!
  16. Thanks! I don't mix. The Andromeda synth is a great product. Alesis wanted to be part of the top synths history here!
  17. Thank you guys for sharing your experience so far. I'm sure more musicians would like to share with us the way they work as well
  18. I have tried analog emulation synths but I dislike the sound of it, it is too sharp and metallic. I prefer authentic warm sound. Exception to this is the x0xb0x, which sound is really nice, and it seems it's pure analog.
  19. Nice, thanks! My question was that analog synths have their knobs of which motion can't be simulated with MiDi control commands, while they can on digital synths. In this case, how to you modify, say, ADSR, on an analog synth using a PC sequencer without moving the knobs?
