Yes. I'm talking about 2005-2011.

What are you on? I neither meant, nor wrote anything like that !

+1 If you look at Isratrance, the "neogoa" phrase was first used on April 3rd 2004. Back then only Kagdila was still releasing Goatrance. The term has been very scarcely used on Isratrance since (like 4 or 5 times in 10 years). If you look on the Psynews database, the term "neogoa" appeared first on June 13th 2005 here and the guys who used it the most are (by far) Cosmogenesis (ex-Metapsychic Records), The Journey Man Project (some guy in Goa if I remember correctly), one memeber of Aerosis, and Lost Buddha (also ex-Metapsychic). There's 950 posts with the phrase over 10 years !!! So it looks like the Metapsychic Records guys took a big part in making the term broadly used, followed by some individuals that were involved in the movement itself. I'm not surprised it's them, because I knew for sure it wasn't Suntrip. After that I remember hearing it a lot in Belgium where people have always stayed very informed on Goa music and kept inviting Goa acts...and it spread more like that.

Not a pro.

Again, this one has a bunch of tracklisting issues: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Psychedelic-Goa-Test/release/362958

No, it's Avangard, that's because the typeface is distorted that it looks like a "o" but it's actually a "d". I think it was even confirmed by the artists or the label.

900+ are Psychedelic & Ambient. Add 60 with my teenage stuff (Westbam, Prodigy, Scooter, 2-Unlimited...) Add 50 for those we own together with my wife That is a little more than 1000 in total.

Nowadays it's REALLY easy to "re-issue" anything on a real cd for a very low cost. Just get an original rare cd wavs, scan the cover, get a cheap press in eastern europe, sell on discogs. Money guaranteed.

Approx 2 cds/month, that is 25€ / month.

Maybe there's just too much crap released these days and people are deceived.

This one too: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Air-Born/release/3720 But these are only major typos. There's also one release with many weird things written. I think it's a mix but I can't remember now. Help anyone?

Which album is the closest to Hallucinogen sound?
mars replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
It will be released soon, but not by us -
Please be patient, we're scrambling to finish it and release it somewhere in the beginning of may. At this moment it's being mastered and I'm trying to finish the cover before the 14th, the day we send to the press. It's going to celebrate our 10th anniversary and you will find several of our core artists entertaining you over...3 CDs!

Excellent T-Shirts. Sublime quality. I got a red one and it's wonderful!

I agree with you on the fact the music shoudl breathe. Three comments though: 1) Those labels who give already mastered tracks to a mastering studio have no idea what they're doing. This is so wrong. Any serious mastering guy will be unable to do anything out of a track that has already been limited or compressed or mastered. He will even refuse them because HE would be accused of doing a bad work whereas he would have just done what he could. I didn't even think this happened as you're suggesting. If it does, then such label managers must be shot in the head (twice). 2) 95% of the DIY masterings are just plain awful. Neogoa producers tend to put the melodies too much in front and the track sounds unbalanced. We get hundreds of promos per year and there's strictly no doubt about it. 3) The "dynamics" discussion has been all the rage in Belgium for some time, and everytime I'm shown a waveform graph with some comments about dynamics I interpret it as an attempt from the person to show how much knowledgeable he thinks he is. Such endless discussions leave me cold. I'm not targetting you here as your post is not giving any example. I'm just saying: leave the plumbery to the plumber. Hire a good mastering guy. Keeping in mind his price may be unrelated to his competence. And if he can't adapt to the style of music, then change engineers!

Fewer and fewer artists bother making alternate live versions. They play "some" unreleased tracks when they can of course.

2014 Festivals - What Styles will be predominant?
mars replied to Shpongled247's topic in General Psytrance
Probably there will be 90% of Neelix-like progressive with loads of offbeat rhythms. Sometimes I wonder if the fullon era wasn't preferable... -

I'm adding Mindprobe - Busted EP to the archive. Thanks to Dolmot Ah yeah you noticed most of the files are 128kbps mp3. Well, that was the standard 15 years ago when we didn't have so solid internet connections... if anyone has them in higher quality, I'd be happy to update the archive. http://www.psynews.org/files/misc/Ultrabeat/

I checked: I had rebuilt the XM releases from some module archive (so there may be discrepancies) and the only one I don't have amongst the MP3 releases is Mindprobe - busted EP. Dolmot, any help here? Else I thought about it, I put what I had on http://www.psynews.org/files/misc/Ultrabeat/

I have most of them. Dogether with Dolmot I'm sure we would be able to dig them all. But where to store them ? Do we even have the right to spread them ?

A few years ago he informed me he had had a computer crash. He'd lost all his works in progress had little inspiration to contribute anything new.
