I wonder what you guy would date to say on a similar topic about FullOn. I can clearly recognize respective Goatrance groups styles, but no way I can with 90% of FUllono artists. And I'm quite used to listening to Psytrance as you can guess.

Reported by Tara / Submitted 10-09-08 01:09.44. Complete interview on: http://www.harderfaster.net/?sid=c39804d01...featureid=11980 After 15 years making music together you could be forgiven for assuming that any band would be content to continue touring their old classics like the Stones or worse, following the Guns & Roses path and taking 10 years to produce anything new of value. Not OOOD. These psy trance pioneers are about to release their new album and have some of their biggest gigs yet to come over the next few months. This weekend they're playing a rare live set at Waveform Festival, then in the days leading up the album launch Rama's at Broken @ the Where?house on Friday 19 September and Colin's playing a DJ set at Roots & BNE presents... TRINITY @ Jacks on Saturday 20 September. It was definitely time HarderFaster hunted them down to the outer limits of the universe where we spoke in deep tongues... OOOD is short for ‘Out Of Our Depth’. How did you come up with the name? Do you OD often? Colin came up with the name at a Pagan party in 1994, when OOOD had only written a couple of tracks together. 14 years on and we’re still out of our depth, but swimming strongly! As for ODing — do we look like the sort of people who take drugs? When did you first meet and start making music together? Please tell us a bit about each of your backgrounds and what inspired you to start treading water as a group. Colin, Nigel and Steve all met each other in Oxford in October 1994, and the group was formed after it became obvious that the music we wrote together was much better than the music we wrote individually or in pairs. Steve and Colin both had experience working in studios and as guitarist and keyboard player respectively, and Nigel was an analog electronics genius and experienced psychedelic synth botherer who had supported Hawkwind at Stonehenge in the ’80s; when we all met Colin had already had his first release on Phantasm so the combination of all our skills was far more than the sum of its parts. When we formed the band, Steve had already known Ramsay for a while, and Ryo joined the gang in 1995 when he moved to Oxford to start his degree, and both of them would hang out in the studio while we wrote. As DJs and musicians they gradually got more involved in the writing process, so it was natural for them to join the band properly when the time came. For a while all five of us performed together as OOOD but Nigel’s involvement got less when we moved the studio to Bristol in 2000. Treading water though? Nah… always moving forward! More news: http://www.mushlink.com/110814.html More to finally come on our site soon (like next wednesday) -
"A couple of weeks" is a bit too strong. That was between last friday morning and saturday morning, and then this week, yesterday, don't know what time. I removed it again, but there is a security issue with ALL Invision Boards enablng malicious SQL injections, and there's nothing I can do at the moment, besides waiting for a patch. And yes, we believed that was time to clean up the place. Like 3 years ago, if some of you remember...

Sorry to write this, but it appears Discogs is no longer what it used to be. Relevance of information is no longer checked, and the site behaves as a wiki where anyonoe can change anything anytime. For instance, we had a bogus dupe Goasia release a couple of weeks ago that we had to ask to get it removed.

I thought it was a good album rocking your ass all the way. Nothing original as it's in the continuity of what they did earlier and with collaborations; BUT an amazing drive in the music !! In other words, they put their style to a maximum level of efficiency. Definitely a goodd album compared to nowaday's standards. @Frozen Dream: we're on the general forum here. Such comments for the sake of increasing your postcount are useless for the community and will get you very shortly a permanent ban. Understood ?

I'll try to answer Antic: tracklsts are not final. Merr0w gave me his trakclist 20 minutes ago, and we're finalizing the compil's tracklst right now. The compilation will be very morning oriented and Merr0w is...full power elecronic carzyness. The compilation will be out around mid october. Merr0w, we are not sure yet. Covers are in the making...For the compilation, we're reworking some http://www.margotschaefer.com painting. I just left photoshop to write this post. As for Merr0w it's still unclear, but the odds are that this guy will make it http://m4de.com We'll have a proper preview soon. As you can see, all is work in progress and many more infos will come veeeery soon (monday?) on http://www.suntriprecords.com -

CD and VBR MP3. Wavs are only for things that are close to my heart.
-
It could be Goa, but I doubt it's mid-90's. The bass sounds much more modern. I have never heard that track though.
-
Let's get it, and then issue opinions about it. Personally, I'm waiting eagerly for it.
-
There are actually LOTS of (younger) people (than us) that do not even know Goatrance once existed or is somewhat linked to what they listen to now (FullOn, Prog, Dark...)
-
And apart from that, any decent review of the festival itself ?
-
I happened to be "friendly" to people who asked me for unfindable cds released a long time ago. I don't have their cds though...anyone ?
-
Suntrip lover / Suntrip hater...ok well. There HAS to be some people that don't like our releases, and we're fine with that. That's how it goes with tastes. As Anoebis says, I believe there are more lovers here because Psynews was more an oldschool place from the begining. Would there be haters as well, they could express their opinions freely, these 2 organizations are indepndant (I'm no longer Psynews admin FYI, just the webmaster). I would like to talk about the Phototropic issue: Filipe wrote me in June to say hello, apologize and tell me unity makes us stronger. I accepted apologies, I agreed with his statement, but I made it clear there's no way we're gonna work together again. I don't think anyone from Phototropic would try to harm us one way or another now. Now about the fact this person voted 1/5 for us only and the suspicion behind it : - If this guy doesn't just like our releases, well, next CD we'll do our best so that he likes it too. - If this is political, then I couldn't care less: politics and psytrance just sound so much off-topic.
-
I haven't heard about that, anyone can confirm/infirm ? However, I saw Makyo in London in March I think.
-
Originality remains the main driver. Teh track had to make me dream. Melodic content and homogeneity are very iportant too. Production quality comes the last (as a producer) because I know an artist can improve very fast in production.
-
We're eager to listen to that album We have one track of it though
-
If you wanna trip on some progressive, just dig that Native Radio album from 2001, and play un der the sun ! Apart from that, please test VA - Trip Through Sound from Blue Room Rec 1996 I am not mentionaing Hallucinogen projects, it's so obvious.
